BFPs following IVF to take symptoms & scans

Hi everyone.

I've started this group for us to chat about our symptoms, scans and any other pregancy related issues after getting a BFP following IVF/IUI/ICSI.

It is by no means to leave anyone out of the previous groups we have been in, where we all offer advice and help during an IVF cycle.

We all know hearing people's positive pregancy news can be heart breaking. I just found on the group that we are talking scans, symptoms, signs and positive tests I'm very conscious that those currently mid cycle may get upset.

We can all still give advice but maybe we could use this group as our pregnancies progress.

I've tagged who I remember from the last group, please feel free to add others as they join us on this next phase of our journey or if I have missed anyone.

@Katiekat84 hi! Congrats! Did you test before as well, how was your line then. I think you are 5wk 4 day if you transferred 3rd march as I’m 5wk 3 today and transferred 4th March. I did one clear blue test on sat afternoon and it said 2-3 weeks this time. Not sure if it was because I didn’t use FMU that time but I checked this morning with FMU and it was 3+. I’m not sure what your lines were like before but if you have symptoms I’m sure it’s fine. Mine have always been test line darker than control line and I had 2 embryos transferred so may be to do with that. Try not to worry too much xx

@Katiekat84 this was my test from OTD and everything was fine at the 7 week scan so try not to worry

@Bluehawaii29 my scan is officially booked for 13 April hehe I will be 7+5 days no blood tests for me to check hcg levels …. Clinic said I tested positive so that’s it . Xx

@ShareLove oh cool! Yeah mine is on same day as you. 3 weeks from now but I’ll be 8weeks + 3 days then. That’s good your clinic did it earlier for you. I can’t accept just one positive test. I still test every day. Just wish I could think about something else. Waiting is so long

@Bluehawaii29 you know I was thinking that I could get private scan at like 6 week ish but I was thinking , does it even matter ?if something is wrong then it won’t change the outcome? So might as well wait ?
what do you think about early scans ? Xx at least when I get it at 7+4 I know i have to see a heartbeat by that time : xx

@ShareLove yeah I also really wanted a scan next week when I’m 6 weeks plus but the clinic was against it saying that they like to do it when they can measure it properly and I don’t want there to any doubt what’s going on so that’s why as hard as it is to wait I know it’s for the best x

@Bluehawaii29 Thanks for the add :) I'm part of another IVF pregnancy group where I feel behind, so nice to feel ahead in this group!

For those talking about bras, I've ordered a Molke bra for pregnancy because my current bras are all killing me - they do a few that come in flexible sizing option, that are adjustable and adapt to changing sizes. Its not arrived yet, but will report back if its good :)

@2mumlife we are a pretty new group and bfps mostly from feb and march but I know you got yours on New Year’s Eve! must have been amazing. We will be looking to you for advice now 😍

@Bluehawaii29 yes! 5+4 today. I tested on OTD (13dp5dt)and it was a super faint line. Tested the next day and much clearer but line still wasn't as dark as the control then I tested 2 days ago at 18dp5dt and the test line is now darker than the control (the lighter line in the picture above is the control line) so I just hope it's progressing enough.

@sharelove I'm the same I'll be 7+5 at my scan!

@Justawannabemam Great shout. I did feel bad sharing all the positive updates and whilst I know it's nice to hear positive stories, it is hard when you're not on the same page. Thanks for creating this!

@Bluehawaii29 Yes! I finally got my scan date. It's booked in for 7th April but I do have a private one on the 2nd too as I don't think I could wait any longer. I wanted to get one this Saturday but seeing as it won't be 6 weeks yet it might not show me anything... Hoping we see something on the 2nd and I can then go on the 7th to get a second opinion (you know patience is not my virtue :D)

BTW, I tested with ClearBlue yesterday and I got 3+, but I did read, the minimum threshold to get 3+ is around 2,700 something, so it's not that accurate as all women's beta levels are wildly different. I used it as I already had my benchmark from the blood test so I know if I got a 3+ then it should mean my hcg has doubled over the past 2-3 days. So if you don't get a 3+, you shouldn't get worried, it's a high threshold and every women is different :)

I'm totally having pregnant brain already! I wore my indoor slippers outdoors ready to go to the vet... thinking I have proper shoes. And this morning I left my phone at home. And it's only been 5 weeks and a bit... :D

Heyy @Millymillymillymillymilly that’s good about your scans! Yes I got 3+ on clear blue this morning wow that’s good to know about hcg being that high and really pleased mine is progressing too. I never had any blood tests so this was all I had to go by. Yeah I’m very forgetful at the moment. Having to take photos at the start of the day of my oestrogen packets so I can compare and see if I actually took the tablet or not. Literally take it and then 2 seconds later I’m like did I take it or not?!

After reading your message I had a look and found this. Wow that’s crazy to think that right now minimum it could be is 2700 😱 just really wish I could have my scan same week as you but clinic won’t let up about it x

@Bluehawaii29 That's great you got a 3+ too! Means the hcg is high! I wonder if you are going to have 1 or 2!

And thanks for mentioning the oestrogen pills... I don't have y phone so I don't have the reminder... and seeing your message reminded me to take it! Thanks for that!

Fingers crossed for our scans. I thought the 2WW is hard, I now think this wait before the scan is worse.

@Millymillymillymillymilly I don’t anything can be worse than 2WW. At least at the moment still have hope. Just gotta hold on to that and enjoy this sunshine 🤞☀️

@Bluehawaii29 hey , I also took the digital today and mine said 2-3 , last week it was 1-2 so it’s gone up , I am 4+4 so sounds about right !
I have just taken my finger prick blood test to check my hcg levels and have sent it off now so should know in few days 😎
And about the estrogen pills , I have this little container Monday-Sunday , tablet sorter , little plastic containers with lids on , it’s tiny , and I count all my tablets and put them in there for everyday , so I never forget 🙂
And also when I am home all day , I take all my tablets out what I need for the day and leave them on the kitchen side so I always see them and by the night time they will be gone 😊 also this way I never forget and guarantees that I didn’t take more than I should because I counted them all 🤩😄

@Millymillymillymillymilly booked private scan 2nd April as can’t wait any longer either. Will be just approaching 7 weeks at that point. I’m getting freaked out now about ectopic pregnancies etc. my mind is going all sorts of places

It's gonna be another sleepness night for me tonight. Scan day tomorrow morning.
I feel like a lot of my symptoms aren't there anymore so I'm panicking.
It also doesn't help that we've had it in our mind to surprise our parents on Mother's Day with a photo frame and the scan pic in. They're going to have no idea and will be my parents first grandchild. She's yearned for one for years now, I can't wait to tell her. Then we booked a meal for us all later that day so that both sides can come together and chat about it all and get excited, etc.
Aaaaaggghhh I've pictured it in my head now a thousand times. Please please let everything be okay tomorrow 🙏🏼
