BFPs following IVF to take symptoms & scans

1000 replies

Justawannabemam · 22/03/2022 07:27

Hi everyone.

I've started this group for us to chat about our symptoms, scans and any other pregancy related issues after getting a BFP following IVF/IUI/ICSI.

It is by no means to leave anyone out of the previous groups we have been in, where we all offer advice and help during an IVF cycle.

We all know hearing people's positive pregancy news can be heart breaking. I just found on the group that we are talking scans, symptoms, signs and positive tests I'm very conscious that those currently mid cycle may get upset.

We can all still give advice but maybe we could use this group as our pregnancies progress.

I've tagged who I remember from the last group, please feel free to add others as they join us on this next phase of our journey or if I have missed anyone.

@ShareLove that is so scary but I'm glad it's all alright for you. So nerve wracking all of this isn't it.
Have you been told to rest some more ? X

JMC91 · 07/04/2022 17:01

@Bluehawaii29 that's so lovely that they are both in there 🥰
Happy for you x

Bluehawaii29 · 07/04/2022 17:31

@JMC91 @xreadytoglow aww thank you, yes it was a good surprise Smile got private scan on Sunday (8weeks) to show them to mother in law. I’m ok to go for it as it’ll just be abdo thankfully so just got to make sure my bladder is nice and full

@ShareLove aww that sounds like a nightmare. I would be so scared if it happened again. Can’t imagine what you must have been going through but I’m glad you got a bit of reassurance today and hope they can give you more answers tomorrow. Mine was tiny so resolves very fast but I think you mentioned yours was 40% of gestational sac so maybe that’s why it’s taking longer. Hope you are home and resting now x

This little one is causing me so many problems Grin heart was beating away so cutely !

@Bluehawaii29 thank you girls ! Yes I am home now and resting ! My henatoma has moved down near my cervix now so wanting it’s way out now ! Can’t wait for ivf clinic scan tomorrow to see clearer image as todays was abdominal and not the best quality !
Can I ask you girls , do they do transvaginal scans even when I’m bleeding tomorrow ? Isn’t this embarrassing Grin?
I think they will do transvaginal one tomorrow !
@JMC91
Thanks you xx
I haven’t been told to rest by this private clinic but I will see what ivf clinic tell me tomorrow ! They said that if all is well , they will discharge me already tomorrow at 7 weeks . I’m so scared of that because if I start bleeding again I have nowhere to turn to for advice Sad I though they might keep me a bit longer with my issues that I am having 🙃

Bluehawaii29 · 07/04/2022 19:06

@ShareLove hey I think it’ll be transvaginal tomorrow because they need proper view for measurements etc. don’t worry about being discharged. EPU looked after me well and are always there if you need help x

Overlyanxious · 07/04/2022 19:14

@xreadytoglow the scanxiety is the worst. I go between thinking everything is fine to thinking the worst. Trying to stay positive though. That's exciting you should get your house keys as well.

@ShareLove Glad you still got to see the heartbeat today. As you said hopefully the bleeding now is the hematoma leaving. Hopefully the clinic can give you some more reassurance/directions tomorrow

2mumlife · 08/04/2022 07:40

@Overlyanxious 1 week on Tuesday :D Its really bizzare to think I'm nearly half way through already. Honestly since 16 weeks things have really started to ease anxiety-wise - I think it really helps having these couple of cervix checks and getting the reassurance there is still a heartbeat. Hopefully you'll also hit a point where you feel you can let out the breath you've been holiding and start to feel more relaxed. We've started gettting quite a few its ready now, so this past week has been all about setting up using cloth nappies Grin and I think that helps make it feel more real too. Really looking forward to hitting the 24 week point of viability (might even stop calling it fetus and start calling it baby lol) 🤞🤞🤞

@xreadytoglow I've already told DP I bet fetus doesn't get into the right position for birth. Already mentally saving up to go back to my accupunturist to get this one turned round the right way! That's exciting you're moving house! Congrats! Hope there is an extra room for a nursery!

@ShareLove Sometimes the SCH's just rupture. I had a transvaginal at my ivf clinic when I had my SCH bleed - it was totally fine, they've seen it all before. SCH's are SO common and there is nothing anyone can do to be honest, you just have to wait, so you'll be discharged. To be honest I didn't bother resting when I had a SCH - I kept doing everything as I usual for my sanity other than weight lifting at the gym. I was in a slightly different position though as my second clinic scan showed my SCH was coagulating and starting to resolve and they believed it would be gone by 12 weeks (which it was).

ShareLove · 08/04/2022 10:29

Sorry girls , I am out ! My hematoma had taken the pregnancy with it only just today ! So yeah ! Good luck with you all guys ! I will start again once I’m ready again ! Star

Overlyanxious · 08/04/2022 10:35

@ShareLove I'm so sorry. I hope you're looking after yourself and all the best for when you try again x

ShareLove · 08/04/2022 11:39

I’m so heartbroken !! 💔 I don’t know how I will survive this 😭 this is my 6 th loss ! I feel like I can’t go on anymore I want to give up on everything ! It’s so raw I know !! I’m emotional mess

2mumlife · 08/04/2022 11:44

@ShareLove I'm really sorry to hear your update. I know SCH's are more common in IVF, but perhaps they could look into whether you are more susceptible and whether that's causing your losses? Hopefully you can have a review with your clinic soon and start getting some answers, as must be devastating to experience multiple loses Flowers

Overlyanxious · 08/04/2022 11:48

@ShareLove it's totally understandable that you are an emotional mess. I think just focus on looking after yourself at the moment and don't worry about the future. You need time to grieve first. It's just so unfair and sending you lots of hugs x

womaninkent · 08/04/2022 12:32

@ShareLove I am so sorry to hear this. I hope you can take all the time you need to grieve and get some answers.

JMC91 · 08/04/2022 12:35

@ShareLove I am so so sorry. Sending you so much love.
Xxxxxxxx

Bluehawaii29 · 08/04/2022 14:11

@ShareLove I‘ m so sorry to hear this happened to you, it’s such a shock especially after you were doing all the right things and bed resting. I can’t imagine what you must be going through right now and just hope it gets a little easier with each day. Was really hoping they would have some positive news for you today. Really sad to hear this 💔💔

ShareLove · 08/04/2022 19:02

Thank you girls so much ! I’m just so heartbroken ! I don’t know what to do next …. Next ivf cycle seems like million miles away , but I want to do it as soon as possible to keep myself busy somehow …
Sad it’s crazy how there was heartbeat yesterday and not today ! I really didn’t expect it I was in shock but I took it quite well at the clinic until I got into my car and I lost it emotionally ! Sad
How do you girls get over this heartbreak ? How do you move on ? Any experience ? I know Iv lost pregnancy’s before but I was younger and I took it better but now I’m Neally 30 so I feel like time is not on my side so much specially without knowing why i happening , if I knew why it’s happening it’s a different story but I don’t want to go through it again with the same plan and same result every single time ……… xxxx

xreadytoglow · 08/04/2022 19:22

@ShareLove I'm so sorry to hear your news. It must be so devastating to go through this time and time again, I just couldn't imagine it. Are there any tests that they can do to figure out why this could be happening? Praying for you that next time it will stick and you get answers. Take care of yourself, sending you so much strength x

Bryterlayter1 · 08/04/2022 19:49

@sharelove I'm so so sorry. I hope you have the support around you that you need at this time.

ShareLove · 08/04/2022 19:53

@Bryterlayter1 the only support I have is my partner Sad nobody knows my history or my losses , nobody , not even my family ! I’m really struggling here xx

ShareLove · 08/04/2022 19:54

@xreadytoglow I am not sure what else they can test ? I think they have tested everting on nhs unless I go private for other tests ? I just don’t know , I’m falling apart …. All the best clinics are hours and hours away from me , all the best clinics and specialist are in London which is like 6 hours away from me by train ….

ShareLove · 08/04/2022 19:56

I’m just here at home drinking alcohol to get drunk and forget my problems Sad
I am not regular drinker at all but I though why not , I’ll drink tonigh ! I have so much stress at the moment ….

ShareLove · 08/04/2022 19:57

Just so shit when you do everything right and still lose the baby Sad

JMC91 · 08/04/2022 20:08

@ShareLove that is so so tough
Did you say that it could be something to do with an overactive immune system, can they do anything for that?
do you think you'd feel better if you confided in your family, it could take the pressure off a little?

We really are stronger than we think, you still are young in the scheme of things. I know at the moment you're probably feeling like you're not on track but everyone has such different paths.
Hope you feel better for letting out the emotion. Things will be ok.
❤️

ShareLove · 08/04/2022 20:12

@JMC91 hey , I belive it’s my immune system rejecting my pregnancy’s but last time when I asked my consultant he said he doesn’t belive in immune problems .. next time I will pressure him to give the steroid for me to suppress my over active immune system and if he doesn’t I will tell him I’m putting the cycle on hold while I’m going private to her private prescription myself as I’m not going to go ahead with the same plan again like this time and end with same result ! I need new plans and this will be my plan ! Iv done tons of reasearch and this has helped hundreds of woman , it’s sooo commonly prescribed by specialist in London for recurrent losses … and I can’t tell my family I really can’t as Iv never mentioned it before and I don’t want them to feel sorry for me Sad
