BFPs following IVF to take symptoms & scans

1000 replies

Justawannabemam · 22/03/2022 07:27

Hi everyone.

I've started this group for us to chat about our symptoms, scans and any other pregancy related issues after getting a BFP following IVF/IUI/ICSI.

It is by no means to leave anyone out of the previous groups we have been in, where we all offer advice and help during an IVF cycle.

We all know hearing people's positive pregancy news can be heart breaking. I just found on the group that we are talking scans, symptoms, signs and positive tests I'm very conscious that those currently mid cycle may get upset.

We can all still give advice but maybe we could use this group as our pregnancies progress.

I've tagged who I remember from the last group, please feel free to add others as they join us on this next phase of our journey or if I have missed anyone.

I've been away from my phone as at a work away day so just catching up.

@Bluehawaii29 glad to hear you have a healthy looking baby. I'm sorry to hear about the twin - but keeping fingers crossed you get a surprise.

I haven't seen my MiL's cat since the tww when I was looking after her and she was a total pain (I think that's when she got pregnant). I have my own cat though and I don't think she acts any differently. She's always loved a cuddle (loves to lay on my chest and belly) and she's continuing to do so - maybe a bit more but I'm not sure.

@2mumlife thank you for the advice. I've realised I do really need to stay away from Google and I'll mention it at my booking in appointment.

Bluehawaii29 · 30/03/2022 17:31

@Overlyanxious thank you! Yeah just glad we got the one little fighter and we’ve decided to tell siblings now as I think this is a good sign and we just gotta be positive it will continue. Better the pregnancy is acknowledged than not at all, that will hurt more

Overlyanxious · 30/03/2022 19:48

@2mumlife I meant to say I'm sorry to hear you have a lot going on as well.

@Bluehawaii29 telling siblings sounds good Smile

Bluehawaii29 · 30/03/2022 21:48

@Overlyanxious we told them Smile was good to get it off our chests. We just mentioned the one to save confusion from the start. Crazy how many twists and turns in this journey! Time just seems to be at a standstill at the mo. Not sure how everyone else is finding the first trimester. For me it’s a drag and just can’t wait to finish with the meds. If I had a fast forward button on a remote for my life I would press it!

Bluehawaii29 · 31/03/2022 14:28

Hey how is everyone getting on? I nearly fainted today and been lying in bed, so sleepy and it’s freezing outside 🥶 anyone else struggling?

ShareLove · 31/03/2022 14:50

Hey girls , just to let you all know I am leaving this group as I have lost my pregnancy . Started bleeding today . Got scan tomorrow , just to make sure . I have had 5 losses previously , all happening at the same time as this one . So there is something else wrong with me that hasn’t been found . Now waiting to miscarry … Sad I am not scared at all as i know it all , iv been through it 5 times . Good luck to you all lovely ladies , I wish you all the luck in the world ! Xxxxxx Star

ShareLove · 31/03/2022 14:53

But I am heartbroken , was hoping that the ivf medication would help ❤️‍🩹😭

xreadytoglow · 31/03/2022 15:24

I'm so sorry to hear that @ShareLove I really hope they find an answer and solution for you soon so you can stop going through this. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you for tomorrow just in case x

Bluehawaii29 · 31/03/2022 15:32

@ShareLove hi I’m so sorry to hear this, how many weeks are you? Are you sure it’s not a subchorionic haematoma like what happened to me on Saturday? X

ShareLove · 31/03/2022 15:47

@Bluehawaii29 thank you both ! I don’t think it’s haematoma synchrionic , because that’s how my other misscarriges started , I am just seeing if the bleeding gets worse overnight , which it should if it’s a misscarrige , I am 5+6 weeks , last loss happened at the same time so I have no hope … Sad scan tomorrow to confirm … my next step is to check for immune testing , I suspect I might have overactive immune system , natural killer cells that attack my pregnancy Sad I think I need steroids next time. I will keep you updated tomorrow at 3 pm is my scan . Xxx

JMC91 · 31/03/2022 15:49

@ShareLove I'm so so sorry. Sending you love
Hope the scan goes ok xx

Bluehawaii29 · 31/03/2022 16:50

@ShareLove all the best with your scan tomorrow 🤞🤞

Bryterlayter1 · 31/03/2022 16:50

@sharelove I'm so sorry. I know words aren't going to be much comfort at the moment. But I'm thinking of you and hope you get the answers you deserve.

Overlyanxious · 31/03/2022 16:55

@ShareLove I'm so sorry and I hope you get can some answers very soon. Thinking of you through this tough time x

womaninkent · 31/03/2022 18:44

@ShareLove I'm so sorry to hear this.
I hope you get some answers

ShareLove · 01/04/2022 07:11

Got my scan today at 3 o’clock Star I will be 6 weeks today , it’s really weird as yesterday I had a gush of red blood and nothing since that … nothing overnight, no pain … don’t know what to think , I guess I’ll find out today …..

ShareLove · 01/04/2022 07:12

It’s probably progesterone stoping my bleeding …

Bluehawaii29 · 01/04/2022 07:22

@ShareLove it really sounds like subchorionic haematoma, mine was just a gush as well and nothing since. It was painless as well. If you had miscarriage I’m sure you’d have heavier bleeding/ cramps. Good luck with your scan x

Bluehawaii29 · 01/04/2022 07:25

@ShareLove mine happened 5wk +6 day as well and they told me on scan I had on weds it had pretty much resolved already. She said it’s very common

ShareLove · 01/04/2022 07:39

@Bluehawaii29 thank you lovely ! I’m keeping my fingers crossed Halo xx will keep updated on here xxx

womaninkent · 01/04/2022 08:29

Good luck @ShareLove. I've got everything crossed for you.

ShareLove · 01/04/2022 08:40

My test still comes out very strong …

JMC91 · 01/04/2022 09:02

Hoping for a good result for you @ShareLove 💕

2mumlife · 01/04/2022 09:36

@Bluehawaii29 Hope you're able to take reassurance from seeing a heartbeat on the scan. Time for you to try to relax and reduce your anxiety - thats the biggest thing you can do for your embabie now x

@Justawannabemam Long drive! Its good the local hospital has referred you to the best place though to manage your pregnancy.

@Overlyanxious Stopping googling things get easier the further along you get. Lots of research out there suggesting maternal anxiety can affect the developing fetus, so I'm trying to channel everything into remaining as calm as I can about things x

@ShareLove Keeping everything crossed for you, I understand its going to be a long wait today. My SCH was a massive gush of blood, I thought everything was over, and I had to wait to the next day for the scan - as soon as they put the probe in I could see there was at least still a sac in there, and the nurse very quickly confirmed a heartbeat. Its a good sign bleeding has stopped for now and you're not feeling cramps. You so deserve a good outcome after so many previous loses Flowers

Bluehawaii29 · 01/04/2022 09:42

@2mumlife thank you, yes I been coping a bit better last few days since the scan and seeing heart beat was good, only 4 days till the next scan to check viability of twin 2. Just trying to go for walks and keep some kind of routine while I’m off work for now. Definitely couldn’t have worked this week as been feeling so tired and had a near fainting spell yesterday lunchtime. How are you? x
