I'm 43 my husband is 50. He has anti sperm antibodies. We tried ivf and icsi a few years ago but no luck. We adopted two kids and we are a happy family of four. The kids are in their teens.

Haven't had a period since november presumed menopause. Just to tile it out ive done a pregnancy test. You can guess the rest.

How many of these are
False positives with the menopause etc

I don't think it is a false positive. I would go to the GP to get confirmation.

I had a similar thread on here back in December. I'm 41 years old and had been told DH and I would need IVF to get pregnant, which we didn't want to put ourselves through.
It's funny how things work o@HammerToFall

It still sometimes doesn't seem real, even though I'm sitting here now with my six month bump and a home slowly filling with baby paraphernalia!

I had my son at almost 41 - I hope it reassures you that like many 'older' mum's I had a problem free pregnancy and text book labour.

There is rarely a false positive in menopause

youd have high FSH levels. Not HCG levels

i would get a scan and then you can guess the rest

Just a quick update.

We had our dating scan today. I’m 13
weeks exactly and everything is looking good. NT was measuring at 2.1 so well within the range. Fingers crossed for the screening results.

I think it’s finally sunk in now, we are so exited and the kids are really looking forward to it.

i still have to pinch myself to believe that yes me I’m pregnant, after all these years!

My SE teacher got pregnant twice!! in her forties. Apparently she thought she was safe with irregular periods, considering them as starting menopause. She now has two adult daughters and two smaller kids. Congratulations!!!!
