I'm 43 my husband is 50. He has anti sperm antibodies. We tried ivf and icsi a few years ago but no luck. We adopted two kids and we are a happy family of four. The kids are in their teens.

Haven't had a period since november presumed menopause. Just to tile it out ive done a pregnancy test. You can guess the rest.

How many of these are
False positives with the menopause etc

This is such a lovely thread to read - congratulations! My mum and dad had me when my mum was nearly 47, after 14 years of trying. When my mum's periods stopped, the doctor told her it was 'her age' and she went home and blamed all the ensuing symptoms on the menopause until six weeks before I was born, at which point she went back to the doctor and he uttered the immortal words, 'I think it's a babby, Mrs. W.' There was a bit of a flurry because she'd had no antenatal care whatsoever until that point and they didn't even really know my due date, but it was all fine!

Wonderful news!

We had a somewhat similar experience in that DH has (had?) 99% antisperm antibodies and we were told there was basically no chance of us conceiving naturally. We didn't use any protection for 10 years and... well, she's now 7 months old 😃

axillarytailofspence · 04/05/2022 12:01
