How old were you when you had your first and second baby?
I had my first at 29 and we are still on the fence about another.
I will be 34 this year and I worry time is running out for me 😕

@Poppypip1
To be honest I was terrified when I got pregnant at 40. My DD moved out already, I was settled in my career and was planning to travel a bit with DH. Not to mention sleepless nights and everything that comes with having a baby. But my DS is such a lovely, easygoing child, complete opposite of my DD Grin. I'm definitely a different mum then I was 30 years ago, more chilled in some aspects perhaps. But I guess it's down to experience and life changes. But yes, completely different experience!

@User121212121212121212 that's exactly how I feel so glad to hear it's worked out and your little one is easy going and you've felt totally different. Thank you for replying :)

34 with my first, currently pregnant with my second at 40, we were going to stick to one then changed our minds last year :)

tillytoodles1 · 11/03/2022 20:52

22 and 24.

MrsM36 · 11/03/2022 21:03

I was 23 when I had my first (and 26 & 36 when I had my second and third).

CloseYourMouthLynn · 11/03/2022 21:05

I was 33 with my first and 36, nearly 37 with my second. Good luck, I didn't feel like I was running out of time, it was more that I felt a lot tired being pregnant at 36!

LondonQueen · 11/03/2022 21:05

19 for my first and 21 for my second

allfurcoatnoknickers · 11/03/2022 21:06
  1. 35 now and just starting to consider a second. Never occurred to me I might be too old tbh.
opinionminion · 11/03/2022 21:08

22 and 26 Smile

SignUpNow · 11/03/2022 21:10

27, then another at 31. That was it for me. I had a crazy, hormone-related wobble about having a third at 39, but thank fuck DH wasn’t on board.

stargirl1701 · 11/03/2022 21:11

36 with my first.

@Ivegottagoforaliedown

30, just one baby and I think that's how it will stay, considering the state of the world. I'd like another though. I'm 31 now
This crossed my mind... But don't let the current state of the world affect your decision 🥰

@MollyRover

31 and 37. We were on the fence about the 2nd too, hence the large gap. I would have preferred to be finished by age 35, but it wasn't the right time for us and we have no regrets now- we needed to be 100% sure.
What made you decide to go for a second? 🥰

21 then 31.

32, 35 and 38.

ClinkeyMonkey · 11/03/2022 23:21

41 and then 45!!

MollyRover · 11/03/2022 23:26

@LifesTooShortYOLO I was pretty certain I wanted a second because the circumstances of my first pregnancy and maternity period were less than ideal, but my DH has some personal projects on the go that he doesn't want to put off. Fair enough, and I wanted him to be 100% on board because we parent as a team. In the end I think he just looked at how wonderful DC1 is and that swayed it for him. Luckily we were only 1 cycle TTC after having the implant removed. 23 weeks pregnant with DC2 now and neither of us can wait. It feels like our family is whole now. We're even talking about a third Confused.

29 and 35. Girl first then boy. They get on famously, always have, and are now 23 and 17.

PulledPineapple · 12/03/2022 00:13

34 & 39.

RisingSunn · 12/03/2022 01:14

31,32, 35,37

Jobseeker19 · 12/03/2022 01:25

17, 18, 22.

Was stressful at the time but now I feel so blessed to still be in my 20s and have the hard baby years gone.

My sisters and friends are only starting to have babies now, many in their 30s and they are seeing all of the stuff I went through and ask many, many questions.

By the time I'm 40 I will have a 23, 22 and 18 year old and still be young enough to have another child if I wanted to although the years of school runs has put me off starting again with another child, not to mention the state the world is in now.

SouthwestSis · 12/03/2022 05:50

Just because there are so many little ones already out there waiting for a home, the Ukraine situation has made me think even more that if we have room in our lives for another child, then I don't necessary feel the need to have that change biologically.

We have close friends who have recently adopted 2 little girls and though the process has its challenges, they are such a happy little family now. I'd love to be able to give another child a home and a family.

SouthwestSis · 12/03/2022 05:54

Sorry this was supposed to be in reply to @LifesTooShortYOLO

SouthwestSis:
"33 for my first, not sure if we will have another biologically but will probably look at adoption"

LifesTooShortYOLO:
"Why don't you think you will have another biologically?"
