How old were you when you had your first and second baby?
I had my first at 29 and we are still on the fence about another.
I will be 34 this year and I worry time is running out for me 😕

30 with my first (but days away from being 31).
Still want another but wanted a bigger gap, if all goes to plan I'll be 36 - not worried about it to be honest.

Effram · 11/03/2022 10:07

32, 34 and I will be just 36 when no 3 arrives.

LittleMisfortune · 11/03/2022 10:08

  1. I actually conceived and had my baby at 29. My birthday was in December and son born in the autumn of following year.

At that time it seemed loads of people we knew were having children, give or take a year or two. I think that's the way it goes for most of us.

I intended to have another a couple or three years later but circumstances intervened so I didn't. I don't regret it at all though occasionally wish mine had someone else of his own - but that's life. He has a good life, career-wise and other, and plenty of friends.

Smithstreet · 11/03/2022 10:13

26, 28 and 30.

electricdreamm · 11/03/2022 10:17

It's sooo nice to hear most of the mums posting on here who had 3+ year age gap between children! I always felt like we were "uncommon" to want our DS to be at least 3 when we have another, I swear everyone I know has 18m to around 2.5 years and I've been worrying about having a bigger gap 😅 silly really!

For the record I was 29 with DS, hoping to be 32/33 when I have second and last DC x

DancingBarefootOnIce · 11/03/2022 10:23

First I was 35. I’m 36 and planning on having at least another. Maybe starting to try later this year.

Ivegottagoforaliedown · 11/03/2022 10:28

30, just one baby and I think that's how it will stay, considering the state of the world. I'd like another though. I'm 31 now

MuMmaOf3littles · 11/03/2022 10:29

25, 27 and 28

fuckwhatshouldido · 11/03/2022 10:34

22, 26, and just about to turn 28 with first 3. Thought I was done…I’ll be 32 when accidental #4 arrives 🤦‍♀️🤣

I think a three year age gap is ideal. Your first child will have had lots of individual attention, will (probably) be out of nappies and going to a play group for some sessions each week. Most people I know had roughly three year gaps between children.
mnetting · 11/03/2022 10:37

1st I was 17
2nd I was 32
3rd I was 34
Trying for 4th at 38

ALittleBitofVitriol · 11/03/2022 10:48

20 (5 days before my 21st actually)

Then 23, 26, 29.

And now our surprise on board, I'll be 38. Huge surprise as I was under treatment for early menopause so...
I wouldn't actually recommend counting on waiting until late 30s though.

Newuser82 · 11/03/2022 11:26

32 and 38

SquigsC · 11/03/2022 14:56

I'm only planning on having one - he is due this year (I am 34).
