@Minster2012 you did well to stay awake… I wouldn’t want guess on DH’s arrival time…

@Franklydear hope that you are okay. I’m sure Sundays aren’t made to be chilled days anyway?

@Lexber loving that your twins are already treating their older siblings!

@larrythelizard oh no. A sober wedding?! The worst! I will have one in August actually if I get that far. Awful. Glad this wasn’t last year, I was at about 5 weddings then.

Guyssssss, I am so excited. Got a 3+ this morning. Never got past 1-2, so I’m slightly starting to hope. I’m 5+3 now and thinking we’ll book a scan next weekend for 8 weeks.

Franklydear · 20/03/2022 09:19

What time did he make it in @Minster2012? Or he’s still out ... what a full day,
Nothing new here, just enjoying my limbo, happy birthday to the ladies that enjoyed this week and @DKDK123 you and your little man looked gorgeous for your faux wedding

I haven’t seen much about @Juno231 lately, how are you lady?

Franklydear · 20/03/2022 09:22

@BellatrixK I managed to sleep from 3 to 7 and feel ok now, so I’ve forgiven him, but I watch telly in bed without headphones ,it was his own making that I was awake

Franklydear · 20/03/2022 09:23

Posted too soon @BellatrixK 3+ is fantastic!

Will check in some point

Sooooo tired & angry
DH 2.43 but then went to get his knobhead brother. There's more to that.

@BellatrixK I'm so happy for you 🥰

becarefuloutthere · 20/03/2022 11:02

@BellatrixK thrilled for you! Getting 3+ is so exciting! Defo book the scan if you can.
@Ltay2 wow 1 already eh! Super cute 🥰 sorry you all came down with covid but sounds like you made the most of it!
@Minster2012 eek Dh is in for it then! I haven't read all posts but guessing you said not to be too late!? 😬

Minster2012 · 20/03/2022 12:04

@becarefuloutthere no there was no time curfew, just get back to the hotel safe. Which he did. Just the fact I got NO sleep whatever all night, BIL snoring so much on the floor (he hadn't paid for a room but we couldn't leave him in the street), that was 3am. At 4.15 I was still awake & was in tears saying "get him out I'm so tired & I can't sleep it's not fair" I was punching him with a pillow & DH was trying to punch him awake too. Both of them going to the loo each hour, turning whole bedroom lights on before puking up. So basically I got 30/40mins snippets of sleep from 4.30 & didn't sleep much before that before DH was back.

Oh the joys! And yep we are late thirties

becarefuloutthere · 20/03/2022 17:39

@Minster2012 oh I see...far from ideal then!! I hope you've had some sleep today then and got an apology from both?

paintfairy · 20/03/2022 18:20

@BellatrixK I used to vary where I put the progesterone. And the back way for a while might answer your question as to whether it's that.
@InkyPaper ah the days of internal scans. I forgot. Yes that's easier! To be honest I'm terrible at working out the wee timing. To be fair the hospital were on time for my 12 and 20 week scans (its just anyone else I've seen there that's not on time) and you only need a full bladder for the 12. However if you plan on any early private ones, you'll also need it for that. The 20 week one doesn't matter, as the baby is bigger by then. And you need to book a nursery 2 years before you plan to have a baby, is what we decided. 🤣
@DKDK123 I can't believe after all of that- you didn't get your weekend away! Especially after you finally found a dress! 🙈 How frustrating. Your pics look good though!
@bez91 I'm in no doubt that the weight won't be dropping off anywhere easily! 🙄
@Minster2012 I don't think many people on MAFS will last to be fair. Annoying about the uncooperative baby for the lasagne scan but he squished face is cute? 🤣 As for letting anyone sleep in my floor- I'm afraid they be in the corridor. 🤭 I'm with you on the wees though. I have managed some nights without getting up. But god sometimes I'm the day I'm desperate and then hardly anything comes out?! I've tried the rocking thing. I think I'm just useless as this has actually been a problem for me before anyway. Not this bad mind. The nursery dates are bonkers.
@Lexber wow its potentially really soon! And I don't think later scans matter bladder wise. Just the early ones.
@larrythelizard I don't even know how you go to the gym. I can barely drag myself around most days!
@Ltay2 I'm not sure birthday's ever go to plan with small children. 🤣 But I'm sure he's happy all the same! I can't believe he's 1 already.

Hmmm, what do I have to report. Well the weather has been nice. That's good. I feel like I've had a fairly busy weekend but I feel tired when I do much. Last night I had another cracking headache. 🙄 I picked up a playmat yesterday second hand that's in pretty good condition. So that was a good buy. I've managed to sell some shite on fb so my bank account isn't empty. 🤣 I have been extra angry on occasion and I even shocked myself. 🤭 Turn last night I started hysterically crying at Marley and me and the thought that dogs die. Which maybe might have been reasonable had I been watching the film. But I wasn't- I had flicked the TV on and it was on. I have never seen it but know the concept and the dog was getting old. I then went for a shower. So I've no idea what even happened. 🤣 Ffs.

becarefuloutthere · 20/03/2022 21:45

@paintfairy hormones happened! 😅

DKDK123 · 21/03/2022 01:51

@Minster2012 love that she's got a wee pout already on the lasagne scan pics 😍 Would not have been impressed with the men folk and your disturbed sleep tho, they're lucky you didn't unleash full blown pregnancy rage hormones on them I would have!

@feliznavidad2 we love cosmic kids yoga too its usually a hit for rainy days. Luckily with the sun shining he's been content(ish) to play in the garden.......while moaning because we can't go to the park 🙄 The next few days will be a challenge tho as I'm WFH and that's never fun trying to keep him entertained at the same time, I think I'll need to resort to snacks and screen time to 'babysit' while I get work done 🙈

@Lexber the baby shower pics look great, it looks like you had a fab time 😍

@BellatrixK hooray for the 3+ another little milestone met 🥳 A scan at 8weeks is a good idea, should be able to see a little flickering heartbeat on screen by then.

@Ltay2 how is he one already that seems to have flown in! Sucks on the covid front, hopefully you're all feeling better soon and can have a nice belated birthday day out for him.

DH got the pram down from the loft yesterday so it's good to go. Sat it in the garden to give it an airing and when I went back out DS was parading up and down the garden with his doll in it telling me he was practising being a big brother, I really dont think Im going to get a chance to even hold this baby when she's born 😂🥰

Minster2012 · 21/03/2022 07:16

Morning ladies it's amazing what a full nights sleep (from 8.30pm) can do 🤪

No apology @becarefuloutthere, BIL thinks all this is hilarious. He's a bit of a 🍆like that but DH made up for it so all good

@DKDK123 that's so sweet!! I'm sure you'll get to hold her lots, you know when she's crying, pooping, feeding 😂

When we got back yesterday DH made up for it by getting cotbed out of the shed & we switched X's bookcase for a big one so baby sister can have little one so we are getting there too! Once cotbed built & drawers moved j can put out clothes so I liked the look of @bez91's nesting at the weekend & will do the same!
One annoying point, we can't find the cotbed instructions or fastenings. Which is the most annoying thing as I have all other paperwork & knew where they were for years in old house but can't for the life of me find them now. I'm so annoyed!! Might make life tricky!

@paintfairy so you've got loads sorted now which is great! What about a carrier? I think maybe one couple might last that's if. Still don't think Mitch & Ella are at all genuine

Oh and I got shades for the car windows so that's a good thing to have

Minster2012 · 21/03/2022 08:32

Oh @Lexber your baby shower looks fab hope you had a fantastic time!

@Ltay2 a year!! God it flies!

larrythelizard · 21/03/2022 09:10

Wowsers @Minster2012 I would not be happy either!! Was the gig worth it at least?! Do you know where the cot is from? Can you have a google and see if instructions are online somewhere?

Whoop on the 3+ @BellatrixK!!

I'm laughing a bit at your hormones @paintfairy - isn't pregnancy wonderful?!

It's survival right @DKDK123 you just have to do what you have to do even if it's wall to wall quavers and tv!

Baby shower looks lush @Lexber - love the venue!

Back at the gym this morning, was quite hard but I had an excuse to be half arsed about it all, I think it'll feel good to get moving again.

News has broken here about baby news (DH away with all his mates), would have rather done the 20w scan and then told people as I'm paranoid about the effects of Covid even though I wasn't that ill but irrational brain in full swing but he was excited to tell them all so that's OK really!

Vil10 · 21/03/2022 09:36

Hi ladies! Sorry I've been awol, I've just found it really hard to keep up between house stuff and work and social events! I feel like I've suddenly got huge this last week or so and really struggling to find nice clothes that fit that aren't rank, also still trying to keep to my pre pregnant style and it's proving difficult😒

@Minster2012 yayyy for good lasagne scan!! Bet it was lovely seeing her again, we're going to get one booked in for 27/28 weeks I think!

@BellatrixK wooo congrats on a 3+!!

@Lexber your baby shower looked lovely!!

@paintfairy I couldn't watch Marley and me anyway never mind now I'm pregnant!! My hormones have also been crazy, my friends got me a gorgeous personalised hospital bag for my birthday and a cried, I cried yesterday holding my friends baby, I cried watching a man give cpr to a dying monkey in India🙄

@larrythelizard aww that's lovely though that OH was so excited to tell his friends! I wouldn't worry about covid and the baby, from what I know and have been told by midwives etc it doesn't affect baby at all, they say you could get "more ill" after 28 weeks, but try not to worry lovely, I mean covid has practically disappeared now right??

So you know the nursery furniture I told you all about, how OH cousin is giving us the cot brand new never used still in the box and I found the matching changing unit and wardrobe in market place for really cheap? Was supposed to be picking it up this Saturday but the woman has messaged and said she's been admitted to hospital so can't sell the furniture anymore, gutted🙄 so onto marketplace for another look! What would you say is a reasonable price to pay for changing unit and wardrobe??
Another exciting purchase arrived last week, my snuzpod4 bundle, I really wanted to get it all out but thought it was best to leave it until we're building it! Also those who are planning to BF, are you holding off on getting a breast pump, prep machine and steriliser? I thought they could maybe wait and I could order them on prime if needs be when the baby is here!

Minster2012 · 21/03/2022 10:19

@Vil10 im laughing at you and @paintfairy crying at loads of things, I haven't found myself crying at anything so I just worry I'm too much of a butch 😂. @Vil10 for X's furniture (now being reused) we paid £350 for a set of mamas and papas ocean range wardrobe, cotbed & changing drawers & toybox. We then added a tall shelving unit for £40 , it's solid oak & we love it

@larrythelizard yeah the gig was worth it but it was really weird to be in a crowded place. DH was very protective which was great. The instructions are online that's fine, it's all the parts/screws I can't get 😬 I phoned M&P & they were like yeah it's like 15 years old we don't have anything now sorry! Heading to DIY store now before swimming to try get some. It's hard when baby news gets out & you don't want it to but take each day/week by week and you'll be grand

larrythelizard · 21/03/2022 10:22

Oh sorry I misread that @Minster2012 - hope it's a fairly generic screw size!

@Vil10 we only got a cot - everything else was normal ikea stuff, couldn't be bothered buying a toddler wardrobe and then having to replace it. You've got plenty of time though so just keep an eye on marketplace? Re clothes, have you had a look at what pregnant celebs are wearing and see if there's anything that would work for you?

OP posts:
Vil10 · 21/03/2022 10:27

@Minster2012 hahaha before pregnancy I didn't cry often but now I just can't stop😂 wow that's a really good deal isn't it!! Obviously a good buy too as it's lasted you to use it for your second baby!!

@larrythelizard I keep telling myself we have a while yet but I'm really ocd with being organised and it makes me nervous leaving it too long then not being able to find what we want on marketplace because it's a set from mothercare and they're closed now so I'd only be able to get it from marketplace, and I'm a weirdo and really want the nursery done by like 34 weeks ish and want most of the furniture by the time we move in in may😂 good idea on the pregnant celebs!! I just feel like everything looks stupid on me😂

larrythelizard · 21/03/2022 10:48

My boobs are now definitely bigger than my head @Vil10 which is quite a problem. I also still look more fat than pregnant which is not ideal...! It's just a case of adapting your style for a bit, won't be long and you'll be back to your old self 💜

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 21/03/2022 11:17

@Vil10 yeah it def was as up until we moved X was still using the changing unit as his drawers as it has a changeable top & was using all of it, so lasted 3.5 years before we'd want to change it really so it's done well. On the clothes front OMG DH & I went to York on Saturday & went shopping & after trying on loads he agreed it's really hard finding stuff that doesn't make me look like a giant bag lady 😂. I did get one maxi dress from tkmaxx (not maternity) & a shorter shirt dress from Zara again non maternity, I second what @larrythelizard says & look at celebs. Millie mackintosh maybe?
We've already got bottles & things from X but if we hadn't then I wouldn't buy it yet, see how you get on & you can get things quickly if you need them.

Minster2012 · 21/03/2022 11:18

@larrythelizard I've been to DIY shop & no joy but I think I've found a set of mixed bits on Amazon that should help so I'll set DH another task tonight 😂

2020mission · 21/03/2022 11:27

@Vil10 I was wondering the same about a breast pump during pregnancy but I held off until I had Matthew to check he could breast feed first. My husband just picked up an electric medela pump for me from Argos the day I was due to leave the hospital - it was New Year's Eve so it was a rush purchase! I didn't have a clue which to buy but I was using a medela pump in the hospital so I thought I'd stick with the brand they were using albeit mines at home clearly isn't hospital grade! If I knew how much I'd be pumping I'd have bought a double but mines is single so just highlighting this for you as if you think you will be pumping multiple times a day it would be so much faster to be able to pump both at the same time. Instead of 30-40 mins you'd be able to do a session in 15-20. Time is crucial when you have your LO 😅 you might be able to mostly just feed directly on the breast though and not need to get anything fancy. I only rely a lot on the pump because my milk supply was delayed because of my postpartum haemorrhage so I've been expressing and topping up since the start to increase my supply. I usually have at least a few bags of milk in the fridge and OH does a couple of bottle feeds a day using those to give him the chance to feed and give me a break, so it works well. I also gave a cheap haakaa silicone pump to catch milk letdown from the other side when he's breastfeeding which was another useful purchase.

Minster2012 · 21/03/2022 11:29

Just gonna put this here for you @Vil10, my Uber stylish friend had one of their changing bags & it was sooooo nice. Too expensive for me I'm a tightwad, & we are reusing X's plain black skip hop rucksack but having a rucksack for us was way better than a shoulder bag & if money were no object or as a gift then I'd get one of these

tibaandmarl.com/collections/all

2020mission · 21/03/2022 11:32

@Vil10 forgot to add, I bought some powder formula and self sterilising MAM bottles in advance of having Matthew incase we had to formula feed if breastfeeding wasn't working. I've still not bought any sterilisers or prep machine as we don't feed much formula at all now and the MAM bottles we use with expressed milk can easily be sterilised in the microwave. I was keen to avoid taking up loads of counter space in the kitchen with products that you'd have to descale often anyway and since we already had the microwave it made sense to go with those bottles. @lucyrp also recommended them which was helpful!
