Just setting this up so we can move all pregnancy-related stuff from the TTC after miscarriage thread.

@aesgriff I'm prob not best to ask as I just seem to bleed off and on all the time! But a good few days after the last big red bleed xx

flowergarden16 · 07/04/2022 15:32

Apparently sickness peaks at 10 weeks, so fingers crossed @Cruz86 !

Cruz86 · 07/04/2022 15:37

Really hoping it calms down soon @flowergarden16 😩 I was told I should start to feel better because my placenta is forming now! False hope 😂

Hey! Ladies - at what point do I step away from the tests?! 😬 x

pinkblush29 · 07/04/2022 17:28

Hi. Has anyone had really strong tests and then going lighter. Not feeling hopeful at all after 2x previous miscarriages. :(

This is me today. First lot of tests was a week ago. Second test is today. It's definitely lighter 😔 In my previous experience, a lighter test has always meant bad news :(

@calimc83 hi I am around 5+1. The first photo were all taken on the same day a week ago. I haven't tested since but tested this morning on the first response. Just seems lighter to me. X

speake · 07/04/2022 18:13

@pinkblush29 it’s so hard to tell with pregnancy tests, especially with them being different brands too. Hope you’re ok 🥺 Have you tried contacting your GP or EPU? I would try contacting them & tell them you’re concerned that your tests are potentially getting lighter. They should be able to do blood tests a couple of days apart to confirm your hCG levels are rising as they should 🙏🏼 xx

calimc83 · 07/04/2022 18:19

@pinkblush29 I've found testing in the afternoon gets me a better result. Yeah could be an idea to call your GP and see about taking some bloods if you're worried xx

pinkblush29 · 07/04/2022 18:21

@speake @calimc83 thank you guys.

I haven't phoned GP or midwife yet. I had 2 prev miscarriages then had investigations done. I was diagnosed with PCOS and started on clomid a couple months ago. When I found out I was pregnant last Friday, I called my gynae consultant to inform her. I'm still waiting on her getting back in touch with next steps after calling once again already. I'm getting frustrated now as I know I could be doing with some early reassurance and don't seem to have that.

speake · 07/04/2022 18:36

@pinkblush29 my experience with the recurrent miscarriage clinic was similar, as I managed to get pregnant again naturally they essentially didn’t want to know & sent me on my merry way. Hopefully if you keep pushing you’ll get more support xx

pinkblush29 · 07/04/2022 18:46

@speake did you just phone the GP and get any luck? Every appt I've had with my gynae consultant has been great and seemed really helpful. I thought they'd really be there for me this time knowing I'm pregnant but to have no response is disheartening especially with previous complications. I've never felt so demotivated this time to do anything and feel like I'm waiting for the inevitable.

Sorry for being so dull in spirits guys. I try to keep positive.

speake · 07/04/2022 18:49

@pinkblush29 I didn’t have any luck with my GP unfortunately, I ended up going private. But it depends on the individual, I wouldn’t rule them out without at least telling them the situation. Don’t worry it’s totally understandable feeling that way, we’ve all been there & can relate. It’s such an anxious time xx

@speake do you mean going private as in booking a private scan? This is something I've yet to do but I have had a look at it and been thinking about it. I don't like the thought of having to wait around with nhs until 12 weeks knowing how things have gone before. X

speake · 07/04/2022 19:07

@pinkblush29 sorry should’ve been more specific, went privately to a consultant outwith the nhs xx

@speake oh did you go with this consultant for the whole way through and did you notice a difference doing that? thanks x

speake · 07/04/2022 19:58

@pinkblush29 not the whole way through, just initially to get a treatment plan and medication that would help my pregnancy progress. Things like progesterone, clexane injections, high dose folic acid, Prednisolone etc 😊 xx

sunnyd67 · 08/04/2022 07:49

@pinkblush29

Hello. From my experience I can tell you that first response has the hook effect, dilute your urine and the test line will get darker, I think first response cannot read after certain amount of HCG and it gets lighter. This is exactly what happened to me and I was panicking, but then read about diluting the urine and I got a darker line, I stopped testing after. I was around 5-6 weeks then.
Whereas with internet cheapies - my previous pregnancy was a partial molar pregnancy, I passed the sac, but growth kept happening in the womb and HCG kept rising, my cheap pregnancy test got lighter around when my HCG was 217k, as it wasn't able to read it anymore. So I think cheap tests can read higher HCG levels.

arianasky · 08/04/2022 08:05

@pinkblush29 I would try weeing in a cup and then a second cup half water half urine and dip two tests the diluted one should show darker 💕🙏🏻

I managed the bus yesterday ladies without vomiting 🎉 now to get through the weekend without anyone outright asking if I'm pregnant 😬

pinkblush29 · 08/04/2022 11:04

@sunnyd67 thank you for your reply. This is my test result today. It does seem darker than previous now. Maybe not all hope is lost.
