Here's to the nausea, reassurance scans and long waits of the first trimester!

I had brown spotting a week ago too and it just stopped so I didn’t think much of it and my scan showed all was good

@Nikki037297 that's good to hear. How far along are you now ?

I really struggle to keep myself together in the first 12 weeks. One moment I’m ok the next my anxiety is through the roof! My boobs didn’t feel sore yesterday morning and I had a meltdown 😂🙈 I’m 6 weeks today and waiting another 6 weeks to see baby feels like forever, will an early scan make me feel better?! I’m really just trying to go day by day but I have to admit some days are difficult, I just really want to enjoy this time!

@MPlus2 I had a private scan at 7wks. It helped for a bit but now am 8+4 and anxious again so booked another for 10 wks. I think it can help like I was fine for a bit but that calmness might not last.

@Leibee87 I think I would be the same to be honest, that’s why I’m trying to wait it out as long as possible my last pregnancy I don’t think I really relaxed at all 🙈 such a strange place to be. Super happy but super anxious

We’ve got a scan booked wed morning, the aim was to calm the nerves but actually I think it’s made me worse. Well that or the hormones are on form today! The nausea is writing me off, just wana hybernate for the next few months! Might tell my boss this week or next week once we’ve had the scan , I’ll only be 7.3 weeks when we have it, wanted to wait til 8 weeks but the appointments weren’t available. Hope everyone else is good and Monday isn’t hitting too hard!

@Hay91X I think mine has stopped too! I'm 5 weeks 4 days, so we're similar. I'm hoping it's just left over from implantation... are you having any scans ?

@ploopypleepy no not having bay scans. I can’t even get hold of the maternity department at my hospital 😬 they was supposed to phone me two weeks ago to arrange my booking appointment and I have Been phoning and leaving messages but no one is getting back to me. Are you having any scans?

I was the same, the nearer the scan got the more anxious I became. I was in pieces the morning of, proper crying out of fear. But it was amazing to see the baby and heartbeat, more crying 😆 It would be very very tempting to hook another in for the next four weeks but I need to hold myself back and just wait now.

@Hay91X how rubbish is that! What are you supposed to do just wait? You could be 3 months by then! Yeah I had a molar pregnancy just over a year ago so I had one at 4 weeks to check that the gestational sac looked normal, and I'm getting rescanned again on Sunday to make sure it's still looking normal ! X

Hi everyone, I've just found this group so thought I'd say hi and add my self to the due date list! Due 4th Oct so currently 8 weeks and 6 days.

I'm 33 and a first time mum, we got married just before Christmas so relaxed the contraception and to our surprise, got pregnant on the first attempt!

We had an early scan on Saturday as I'm impatient and it was amazing to see our baby's heartbeat, I also couldn't believe how much they were wriggling around already. Feeling very blessed 😊

Hey @SEJS89, due date buddies! I'm having an early scan later today. Can I ask if you had an abdominal or vaginal scan? I have an easily irritated cervix so really don't want a vaginal scan but worried about how much I will see!

Hi @Lap91, I had an abdominal scan and a fairly empty bladder but the scan was really clear so hopefully abdominal will work for you too 😊

The waiting is driving me mad! I have an early scan on the 16th when I’ll be 7+4. Symptoms definitely ramping up. I had been saying to DH oh my boobs aren’t sore maybe something is wrong. Today BAM absolutely agonising

Been sick and ended up making a wee puddle on the floor. 8±4 today. Didn't think my pelvic floor would be wrecked already (1st pregnancy) tips? Because I guess if it's this bad now what will it be like in 7 months time giving birth 😭😂

Please can I join.. #2 (DD is 6y) EDD based on my predictions are 16th October. I have my first midwife appointment on Wednesday. I have had a little read through past posts on this half of the thread to look for advice on early scans. My anxiety is so bad this pregnancy and the waiting for 12 week scan is going to kill me off one panic attack at a time. But not sure I can justify the price of an early scan. Is it worth it? I'd be anxious to have an early one then have the NHS one later and find potential problems.

Sorry to hear this, HermioneGr! Have you tried nibbly food, little and often? Ginger biscuits? Crackers? Plain or dry toast? And little sips of water?

And for the toddler, stick the TV on if it helps!

Thank you for the reminder to do pelvic floor exercises! No advice but if it makes you feel any better, I wet the bed a couple of nights before I knew I was pregnant 😱 NEVER done that (except very early childhood maybe). Absolutely mortifying in the middle of the night! 🙈

@HermioneGr the nausea is the worst! I suffered really bad with my first one to the point where I just couldn’t eat but this time I’m trying to eat little and often and it is better, it’s very counter intuitive because I feel ill so the last thing I want to do is eat but I promise it works, my husband keeps reminding me to eat 🙈

Well my symptoms have ramped up all of a sudden ! Pretty much bang on 6 weeks ... was hoping I might get away with the nausea

I’m due 8th October, has anyone else had covid while they’ve been pregnant, I had it at 4weeks and still have a bit of a tight chest and increased HR here and there :(
