I don't think Covid increases your risk of miscarriage. It's not great to get it later on when baby is reducing your lung space, but I don't think there's any particular risks at this stage.

Hope all goes well for you. (At least you'll have good, well topped up immunity now I suppose!)

stimpyyouidiot · 04/03/2022 19:30

Aw man sorry to hear that @Dreamer30 💜

stimpyyouidiot · 04/03/2022 19:31

@surprised12

Anyone else's mood all over the place lately?? 15 weeks and don't know what to expect from 1 hour to the next!
I am getting SO irritable ! I'm mostly okay but sometimes I get sooo irritable.
ShiningStarz · 04/03/2022 19:37

@Dreamer30 I had it a few weeks back when I was 7 weeks pregnant. Had a temperature one day and take a paracetamol. It was fine. Just double check what you can and can't take to be sure. It's a shitty feeling but better get it now than later

Dreamer30 · 04/03/2022 20:18

Thanks girls. I've just been taking paracetamol and drinking lots of water. Sitting with an ice pack on my head coz it's burning. I've had worse colds than this so hopefully it passes quickly

ShiningStarz · 04/03/2022 20:31

@stimpyyouidiot I know exactly how you feel. The days went so slow for me. Hopefully you'll hear by middle of next week And have your mind put at rest

I had to tell the midwives - have you had it do that?
annlee3817 · 05/03/2022 00:13

Is anyone else using the cyclogest pessaries? Started them tonight, but have got to put two in, first one fine, second one pushed the first one further up and hurt a bit, then the second one fell out 🙄🤦 and with it some really watery discharge, is it normal? It's been seven year since I last used them

Dreamer30 · 05/03/2022 06:26

@stimpyyouidiot I called EPU yesterday because I was told to call them up until 14 weeks (currently 12) and they said they'd call back but didn't so I'll call again today

What are they for? Ive not heard of them.

My midwife told me if I test positive for covid to let them know straight away. Mine told me they send out a covid pack, not 100% sure what that contains. It may also not be a thing done in every district, but best to let them know. Hope you feel better Smile
annlee3817 · 05/03/2022 09:14

@TotoAnnihiliation they're used in the first trimester for women who have had recurrent miscarriages and otherwise used to help the cervix, had them last time as my cervix was shortening, this time as a preventative

Dreamer30 · 05/03/2022 10:20

Thank you. I was just told if I had any problems to contact EPU until I'm 14 weeks and then after contact my pregnancy team. EPU have rang back and said I don't need injections as I only score a 1 our of 4 for the category for them. Just to keep taking paracetamol, drinking water and call if there's any bleeding but also said there's no evidence that covid causes miscarriage, so trying to stay hopeful

110APiccadilly · 05/03/2022 10:27

I've not been told anything about testing positive for Covid so I think it must vary from place to place. (Except not to go to appointments if I have!)

TotoAnnihiliation · 05/03/2022 13:35

Thank you for explaining @annlee3817. I hadn't heard of them.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 05/03/2022 13:39

@annlee3817 I'm not using them this time but last pregnancy I had 4 pessaries are utrogestan. Similar issue. The discharge is awful trying standing with one foot on the loo to inset. You could also check if they can go 'the back way' far less mess. I know utrogestan could only go the front Confused

ShiningStarz · 05/03/2022 13:50

Anyone on here opting for a private antenatal care package?

annlee3817 · 05/03/2022 14:34

@Whatelsecouldibecalled they do go the back way, but not sure how I feel about that 🤣 I think if it was just one is be ok

annlee3817 · 05/03/2022 14:34

I'd be ok I meant, inserting two at once doesn't seem to be working

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 05/03/2022 15:12

@annlee3817 is it two a day? Or two at a time? I was on four a day so two
Morning two nights time.

annlee3817 · 05/03/2022 15:21

@Whatelsecouldibecalled Two a day, last time I was on 3 x 400mg a day, so not sure if that was two each time or one, I can't remember. This time as it's just a preventative it's just 1 dose of 400mg which is two pessaries at night. Might do one when I settle in the evening and then one at bed time

Carebear99 · 05/03/2022 16:01

I'm 13w, I don't really feel pregnant. I know that is normal as symptoms have gone now and went a few weeks ago. Does anyone else just feel a bit blah? I've had the 12w scan, and a private scan this week and baby OK but it just feels so strange at the moment at this in between stage.

madeleine85 · 05/03/2022 16:40

@Carebear99 that’s very normal. I had my 14 week one where they just did a heartbeat check with a Doppler and I was like “oh he’s still in there?” The doctor said to expect to really feel movement in 5-6 weeks which seems forever away!

annlee3817 · 05/03/2022 16:55

Yep @Carebear99 it's a real limbo this part, until you start getting movements. I started feeling small flutters around 18 weeks last time, so counting down to then :) they were very sporadic though, days with nothing

110APiccadilly · 05/03/2022 16:57

I think I've felt mine move, but I couldn't swear to it. Other than that I don't feel pregnant really. My C-section scar aches a bit sometimes, but then it sometimes did that before I was pregnant!
