Speaking of movements, I'm thinking of calling triage because I feel like he isn't as active as normal. Don't know whether I'm just being super paranoid!

Starbeach · 08/03/2022 12:39

Hi ladies just catching up with you chatty lot 😊 can’t believe we’re nearly on thread nine!

Can I ask you all I’m due on the 17/6 but my boss has asked me to go on a course 2 hours away in the 13/5 I’m a bit concerned it’s so far away when it’s so close to my due date? Would you refuse to go?

Flowerbug1994 · 08/03/2022 12:45

@MrsTwentyNine am having a hard time figuring out what’s active and quite for my baby as he is different every day. What are your changes like ? If you are concerned just call it won’t hurt to get reassurance xx

MrsTwentyNine · 08/03/2022 12:59

@Flowerbug1994 I'm not sure myself! I know he is more active around 6pm and I don't notice that many kicks unless I'm sat around at work. But last night even though he kicked a few times, they weren't the "belly moving" seen from outside type of kicks and I don't know if that's something to even worry about ?! How do we know when it's our first 😩

CurryandSnuggle · 08/03/2022 13:26

@Flowerbug1994 I don’t count kicks, I document when I feel movements e.g 7am-8am, 10-10.30, 12-2pm etc. Then after a week I noticed there was a pattern. Sometimes thrown off by half hour or so, but if I didn’t feel her for say 3 hours when I would expect to feel her I know that’s not normal, whereas if I didn’t feel her til half hour later than usual I’d assume she’s just a sleepyhead 😂

CurryandSnuggle · 08/03/2022 13:27

It’s taken 2 weeks of documenting to notice a consistent pattern. I’m 27+4

fpeg · 08/03/2022 13:57

@Starbeach I'm due 1st June and have a course 3.5 hours away on 7th May. I'm going down the night before and my mum is coming for the journey. It's right on the cusp of what I'm happy with but I really, really want to attend the course! If I don't feel right for any reason I won't go, but I think it's an individual choice and your boss needs to accept that even if you say yes, you might pull out last minute. If you aren't happy to do it, it's fair enough to say that much travelling that late on is just too much for you. I may end up changing my mind when I get to 7th May, but for now I'm being optimistic that it won't be a problem 😁

Prema112 · 08/03/2022 14:33

@Starbeach I probably wouldn't travel very far in the month before due date. I think with 5 weeks to go you should be ok but definitely do what you feel comfortable with. You might also be feeling quite uncomfortable by then x

Prema112 · 08/03/2022 14:42

@MrsTwentyNine urgh I've been there, almost called triage a few times but then he's started moving again! So unsettling! I'd drink cold water and have sugar then lie down and count movements. If you're still worried then definitely call x

Flowerbug1994 · 08/03/2022 15:00

I usually do get a few kicks when I lie down in bed and concentrate for half an hour. I have had a couple of crying episodes where I have been that worried. Also had one episode we’re j was in the middle of googling maternity units number and he kicked. I would just honestly say to anyone just call of your unsure. Specially as some of us are approaching weeks that stand a good change of survival

Vimto1991 · 08/03/2022 15:22

Guys, TMI time but anyone getting a lot of discharge? It’s white and milky, not thin or lumpy or anything. Google suggests this mainly happens in first trimester, but is normal, and only if it’s literally dripping out is it a cause for concern, then again, I’ve not had discharge like this before. :/
Although I’ve had thrush on and off so maybe I just never had normal discharge.

DaimDillyDoo · 08/03/2022 15:40

@Vimto1991 Sorry to hear about your dad being so selfish. It's his loss totally. Beautiful bump pic though! Smile

DaimDillyDoo · 08/03/2022 15:41

@Vimto1991 Yep loads of creamy discharge, it was running down my thigh the other day 😂😱

Vimto1991 · 08/03/2022 15:43

@DaimDillyDoo thank you! Took a few days for me to calm down but now yeah totally his loss!! 🙂 aw thank you! I wish I had a better setup for photos.

Good to hear the discharge is normal! I just haven’t been normal for 27 weeks 😂😂 of course anything slightly changes I google like mad 🙊

destiEos · 08/03/2022 16:40

Yay for all the lovely bumps!! Mine is big, but I've been eating like a horse so I'm pretty big myself! Half a pack of chocolate hobnobs for my afternoon snack today 😂

Saw midwife today, who was a bit more useful than previous times. She seemed to suggest not counting movement at all, as it can just cause anxiety. Mine moves about often enough I think, if I get worried I just drink a coke or eat some chocolate - sure enough, he perks right up!

Can I highly recommend a pregnancy massage by the way, had one last week and it was magic 🤩 Also there are some great deals on Snuzpods on the Bounty/Emma apps, wish I'd seen them before I bought mine! Which I'm putting together this weekend, hopefully! Pics if I get around to it..

JAR1981 · 08/03/2022 17:41

@Vimto1991 me 🙋🏻‍♀️. Which isn’t helping the cervix anxiety as a few times I’ve thought it was my waters leaking. But nope, just lots of discharge. Seems to have ramped in the past 2 weeks (I’m 27+3).

MrsNT · 08/03/2022 17:46

Has anyone had a glucose test? I have mine this week and nervous about it. Letter said i cant bring anyone along so will be sat waiting 2hrs by myself

MrsNT · 08/03/2022 17:48

Still early days for us all but does anyone know of or has tried red bush or red leaf tea in previous pregnancies (sorry im not sure of the exact name) apparently its supposed to help with labour and its taken towards end of pregnancy?

sunflower198 · 08/03/2022 18:31

@MrsNT Yep I had mine last Thursday. I was allowed to sit in the waiting room or in my car so I took a book and enjoyed the peace of my car (and 2 hours from my potty training toddler was bliss!)
It went pretty quick tbh and I felt fine for the 2 hours...although my test has since came back positive ☹️

Vimto1991 · 08/03/2022 18:34

@JAR1981 mine seems to be ramping up, too! 27+6 so a little head of you so looks like we are experiencing normal symptoms. :) it definitely doesn’t help anxiety I agree. 😫

pregnancydiaries · 08/03/2022 18:35

Evening ladies💗

Is anyone else finding baby kicks a lot when they are lying on their side? Left side mainly. I know we are told to lie on side but every time I do LO goes mental with his kicks and I'm scared I'm hurting him in some way 😂 xx

JAR1981 · 08/03/2022 18:43

Glad I’m not the only one @Vimto1991!

@MrsNT do you mean raspberry leaf tea? It’s supposed to help with labour by strengthening the muscles of the uterus I think and potentially softening cervix - so you aren’t supposed to start it until a few weeks before due date. I used it to thicken my lining ahead of ivf transfer.

@pregnancydiaries yes - although mines right side. Usually when I turn over in the night they start pummelling me. I guess I’ve taken up their leg room or something. They should be very well cushioned though so I don’t think we can be causing any harm.

Vimto1991 · 08/03/2022 18:46

@pregnancydiaries yes! I get worried it’s them warning me they are being crushed! But maybe it’s just because we are pressing in so can feel them more? I tend to roll over as I feel guilty. 🤣 does happen more on my right side, I roll onto my right when my hip starts hurting.

MrsTwentyNine · 08/03/2022 18:50

@Prema112 thank you!
Just to update, I work in the hospital so popped into triage in the end and they were so lovely! They advised always to pop in if worried as they'd rather see you. It was very quick and the HB was nice and strong. Phew. 14 weeks to go!!

MrsNT · 08/03/2022 18:57

@jar1981 yes sorry i got name wrong .. will do more research on it
