Thanks @PurpleMoon12 I'll take a look.

pregnancydiaries · 02/03/2022 11:30

Fainted whilst talking on a teams call this morning. At the time was really scary, now I'm just embarrassed.

Can't take the low blood pressure much longer. Done absolutely everything I've been told to do but it's happening now even when I am fully rested/lying down. No idea what to do 😩

Matilda30 · 02/03/2022 11:30

@Littlemilomoo I'm hoping to do similar to you with mat leave, have a meeting today to see what they say. We'll be using shared parental leave so DH can be off for the first 3 months and I'll be off for 9 months. Hoping to go back part time, if not I'm not sure what I'll do tbh as I want some work/life balance and we have no support network.

Prema112 · 02/03/2022 11:59

@pregnancydiaries Aw no poor you! I don't have any suggestions, just sympathy. I suppose resting is good but not very practical!

@Rolledthedice I've had some belly discomfort, like my skin kinda hurts? I don't have any tips really though, mine hurt last week and seems better this week, I think it's just from rapid growth

Prema112 · 02/03/2022 12:00

Also can't wait to finish work!! Not sure if I'm going back as we may be moving out of London around the time I would return so it feels a bit weird that I might be leaving for good but I don't know it yet...

aus12 · 02/03/2022 13:17

@Matilda30 have a look at the Joolz aer or the Yoyo with the bassinet. Both fold up really small so should fit in your boot. We live on the 2nd floor of a converted house so have looked at those two as it needs to fit up the stairs. Leaning towards the Joolz Aer as it folds with the bassinet but the Yoyo it needs to be taken off unless you get the newborn pack over the bassinet.

MrsNT · 02/03/2022 13:35

@matilda30 ive bought the yoyo and its sooo compact. It can definately fit in the boot.ive got a ford fiesta so not a big boot. The padding is decent and looks comfortable plus i can use it on airplanes when travelling which I will be doing as my parents live in another country.
There are 2 versions with the bassinet..one is where you buy a bassinet (thats the one i got) nd the other is where the bassinet folds down with the chassis. There wasnt much price difference with the bassinet one being slightly more expensive so i bought that as it looked more comfy but definately do chexk it out. I went to my local john lewis to try it out ans then bought online

MrsNT · 02/03/2022 13:41

@curryandsnuggle thats like me. I cant wait to go on leave..although I know life will be changing completely but Im at the point where I need a break from work.taking 1 week holiday and 1 week leave before due date . Coincides with the june bank holiday so i get a free long weekend.

Matilda30 · 02/03/2022 13:52

Thank you @aus12 and @MrsNT I might need a trip to John Lewis, just not sure my 6 year old will be up for it! I like the look of the icandy lime but need to check dimensions and it's pricey! Although I did have an icandy last time and it lasted ages even though my son was v long! Gave it away when we thought we wouldn't be having another!

Vimto1991 · 02/03/2022 14:24

Hey guys! Just wanna say thanks for the support regarding the MIL situation. Trying not to let her comments get to me and force DH to deal with her!

In regards to deodorant - I normally use FFS natural deodorant and switched to dove aerosol as my mom got me a dove gift set for Christmas. Think I’ll change back if it’s bad for the baby 😩

Had my midwife appointment yesterday. Took 15 minutes for the midwife to find the heart beat as baby kept moving away or kicking the Doppler! 🙈 woops!

Saw my consultant regarding my thyroid too - normal range not low now, but on the high end of normal! Got another test alongside the 28 week bloods to see if it’s still rising, just wish it would settle but thyroids are tricky to control! 😭 being high risk makes me so much more anxious for the babies health. Cannot wait for June!

I’m also on countdown. I think I have 76 days left until maternity leave. My mat leave starts on my due date but I’m taking two weeks annual leave before then… roll on mid May!! 🤩

PeeAche · 02/03/2022 14:33

The YoYo looks great for foldability but the wheels are too small for what I need, I think. We live in the depths of the countryside. I know everyone on Mumsnet seems to think they're super rural, but I'm serious, guys. I live in nowheresville. My local shop is also a doctor's surgery.

So, I'm going to need some wheels for the fields. 😅

I think I might go and have a look around JL next weekend. It's a right old trek as our nearest one is Cheltenham, but I think it's worth it. I just can't figure it all out online.

Was someone having their second attempt at a 20 week scan today? We're waiting on your update!xxxx

MrsNT · 02/03/2022 14:38

Btw ladies if anyone wants to buy aden anais stuff but not pay the expensive amount..check out for deals on vinted. Found a few mums selling unused ones for fraction of the price

Matilda30 · 02/03/2022 14:58

@Vimto1991 can I ask about your thyroid? Mine has been borderline underactive for years but I don't know if my midwife took bloods for it and she's not replying to my calls! I got it done at the GP recently for peace of mind and strangely its the most normal it's been for a while but I'm guessing it's something that should be monitored in pregnancy? Thanks!

Lostintranslatio · 02/03/2022 14:59

@MsBubbles85 my due date is the 29th and I worked out that my mat leave would kick in on the 13th June. I thought it must start the Monday two weeks before your due date, but I might have calculated it wrong.

I have also got excellent news in work regarding my mat payment and in two days I'll be in the sunshine and I my girl has been moving like crazy for the past two days, so I can't feel happier 😂😂😂😂

Vimto1991 · 02/03/2022 15:02

@Matilda30 if you have a thyroid issue that’s been diagnosed did you tell your midwife at booking? I have Graves’ disease and a permanently under active thyroid so was put to high risk, so either you should be monitored (blood tests every 6-12 weeks depending on trust), or perhaps they don’t consider your thyroid to be high risk - are you on levothyroxine? Maybe if your GP doesn’t class it as an issue if you don’t need to Medicate then you don’t need to be consultant led. :) good to hear your last blood test was normal!

MsBubbles85 · 02/03/2022 15:04

Great news about your mat pay @Lostintranslatio
My company has a decent enhance maternity pay so at least that's a bonus.
I checked with the HR team and they didn't say anything about having to start maternity leave 2 weeks before, apparently you can work until your due date if you want!

Vimto1991 · 02/03/2022 15:11

Yeah you can start Mat leave on the day if you want. I’ve decided to do that, and take two weeks of annual leave beforehand, but after reading what everyone else has put, wonder if I should have started mat leave earlier. I figured that meant I’d get more time with baby as I’m planning to take two weeks of annual leave when I get back so 13 months off in total, as I want to be off up until their first birthday. It’s so hard working out what will be right closer to the due date as a FTM I have no idea how I’ll be. I am hoping if I feel pants I can bolt on more annual leave rather than changing my mat date. 🙈

EarlGreywithLemon · 02/03/2022 15:18

@PeeAche if you need wheels suitable for the countryside, our Bugaboo Fox has been great on all terrains (including in-laws’ farm and some muddy commons - though sometimes I think the biggest challenge is the awful pavement on our street Grin).

It is large but if you have the space it’s not a problem, as it’s very easy to manoeuvre and relatively light for the size (about 10kgs)?
Also, our tall daughter is still comfortable in it at 2.3 yrs.

pansytub · 02/03/2022 15:18

Yes me! I'm worrying I might have developed a hernia there from the pressure causing the pain. Texting the midwife to ask is on my to do list...

pansytub · 02/03/2022 15:19

Supposed to be for @Rolledthedice

Matilda30 · 02/03/2022 15:59

Thanks @Vimto1991 no I've not received medication, it's just been slightly underactive for years, I'm guessing it's not underactive enough to medicate. I mentioned to midwife at the booking appt just in case.

Vimto1991 · 02/03/2022 16:06

@Matilda30 ah all sounds good, but don’t be put off by pushing your GP to check more regularly if you feel more lethargic or even if you feel the opposite, they should be able to test your thyroid if you request it. :) tricky thing is they fluctuate anyway, and in pregnancy can fluctuate more 🙈 silly endocrine.

MrsNT · 02/03/2022 16:09

@matilda30 your thyroid level should not be over 2.5 during pregnancy or when trying to concieve. Normal range is upto 4 so do check what it was last time. If its under 4 but above 2.5 you will need medication. Dont let them fob you off as I have had that with me from my gps as I wasnt aware of how it works . and now that I have read up about it im very particular with the levels especially during oregnancy

MrsNT · 02/03/2022 16:12

@matilda30 have a look at the tsh range. Normal is betweem 0.27 and 4.2 but make sure during preg its under 2.5

Matilda30 · 02/03/2022 16:14

At my last test (which I had to request because the gp isn't routinely asking me to go) my TSH was 4.83. That is the lowest it has been for years. Now I'm a bit worried. Should I contact my GP?
