Hi! Thought I'd start a new thread as we filled up the previous one. Going to try and tag everyone who's been active recently - apologies if I miss anyone out! Feel free to join in.

I'm expecting my firstborn, having had 2 miscarriages. Currently 17 weeks and 2 days!

@susiebluebell its mad isn’t it! And we’ve got a couple of months left! 😂

TwoBulletsFiveZombies · 26/04/2022 20:24

@Louharding they've not really found a reason, we went down the IVF route (didn't work) and they said I had a slightly subseptate uterus but didn't think it would cause problems. I have a referral to the miscarriage clinic next month which I won't cancel, in case it happens again.

susiebluebell · 27/04/2022 07:42

Anyone else getting to the final stages of pregnancy and magically starting to freak out about stillbirth? 😓 I swear, if it's not one thing, it's another.

Baby had a day of low movement yesterday and I got really quite worried. I know it's extremely rare etc. etc. but my anxiety just tells me even a tiny chance is still a chance... No fun at all.

This morning she's wriggling around as usual!

Girls,
I had an early scan at the start of the week at 7 weeks and everything looked as it should. I woke up this morning though and have a really dull ache in my lower back and a funny colour discharge when I wipe, it's not spotting but just darker than normal. My last 2 miscarriages started like this and I'm beside myself, I rang the EPU but they can't see me until next Weds at the earliest.

Louharding · 27/04/2022 15:14

@TwoBulletsFiveZombies fingers crossed for you and hopefully you won’t need the referral!

@susiebluebell ah I know what you mean, the worry never stops and then when they’re born it gets worse 😬 try and stop yourself from overthinking the still birth stats by looking at them the other way, 999 out of 1000 births will be fine. The movement thing still terrifies me but if you feel worried at all definitely get checked out it’s better to be safe and put your mind to rest.

@Worryworm84 I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. How far along are you? Surely if you’re really worried they will be able to squeeze you in sooner? it could be absolutely fine, back ache is really common in early pregnancy. I had a small bleed at 10ish weeks with my current pregnancy and it was terrifying but it’s apparently very common so there’s just no knowing yet. Fingers crossed for you.

hope everyone else is doing ok. My pregnancy rage is off the scale today, my poor husband!!! Xxx

susiebluebell · 27/04/2022 15:35

Thank you @Louharding I was encouraged to come in to listen to the heartbeat if I was worried at any point. Of course I haven't taken them up on that... Thankfully I'm seeing the midwife tomorrow anyway so I'll report back. More normal ish movement today.

@Worryworm84 Do you have the steel to phone up again and insist on being seen? Depends how you are emotionally. If you can manage it, I would do that - don't get off the phone till they give you a sooner time. Best of luck and fingers crossed it's just early pregnancy nonsense x

Louharding · 29/04/2022 16:02

@susiebluebell how was the midwife appointment? Xx

susiebluebell · 29/04/2022 19:11

A bit of a nightmare if I'm honest, as I ended up getting quite ill from having blood taken on a fasting stomach! (Glucose tolerance test at my 28wk appointment) But happily, everything is fine with baby, heard her heartbeat again which is lovely every time.

How is everyone else??

OnceUponAThread · 29/04/2022 22:41

@susiebluebell - I swear we're having identical pregnancies. Am also having major still birth panic, waddling big time, and heading for GTT on Monday.

GinnyBee · 30/04/2022 07:38

@susiebluebell I'm also worrying about stillbirth! I'm 37+3 now and due to have him on the 10th via ELCS so not long to go, but fairly recently there was someone in my due date FB group who lost her baby a day after her baby shower, and another who developed eclampsia seizures and had been prepped for surgery twice and cancelled twice too, and then suddenly left the group so I can only assume things went badly wrong. So now I'm paranoid something will happen to me too completely out of the blue! I have had no issues in this pregnancy at all, it's been smooth sailing, but I can't help it!

@Worryworm84 How are you doing today? Back ache I think is very normal when your uterus starts stretching, but of course with history of mc everything is a worry! Hope you're ok. xx

Worryworm84 · 30/04/2022 08:42

@GinnyBee @Louharding @susiebluebell I managed to get seen at another EPU, our local clinic only runs 2 days a week hence the back log for appointments. She did a scan and everything looked as it should, she said the discharge could be because my period would have been due but she wasn't sure. Its amazing though how little time that reassurance lasts. I think because I was so sock in my pregnancy and only mildly nauseous now, I can't relax.

With my first pregnancy I remember having massive worries about stillbirth, thankfully he was a very active baby, I remember a few times though where he wasn't moving as much. My SIL told me to always keep a bottle of Lucozade and if I was worried have a few sips and within half an hour he'd be dancing around, I found it reassuring.

susiebluebell · 30/04/2022 16:51

@Worryworm84 That's a lovely idea with the Lucozade! I lugged home two massive bottles of sparkling water this afternoon - craving it, and also hoping it makes baby wiggle around more! Great update from the new EPU, try and hold onto that reassured feeling as long as you can!

@GinnyBee @OnceUponAThread Honestly I'm glad it's not just me being OTT about stillbirth. I suppose it's just another thing that shows how much I care about having this kid, but I wish it would come out as radiant pregnancy joy instead of finding the next thing to keep me awake at night worrying!

So excited for your upcoming birth Ginny and so fun to have a pregnancy twin Once 😉

Back to waddling around the house madly nesting x

Afternoon all, hope you're having a lovely sunny Sunday. I've hit 30 weeks (7.5 months!) and things seemed to have ballooned out quite suddenly. My tummy now feels tight around the sides and belly button seems to be getting smaller. Feeling good other than tiring more quickly. I am getting loads of movement from baby, which is the most reassuring thing, and I know I'll miss it.

How is everyone else getting on?

OP posts:
GinnyBee · 08/05/2022 15:25

@susiebluebell the movements are nice and reassuring until they’re annoying and a bit painful 😉 I know I’d be freaking out if I couldn’t feel him much, but honestly I sometimes wish he’d at least chill out a bit and be a bit more gentle!

I’ve got my ELCS on Tuesday, so I’m now two sleeps from holding a live baby in my arms! There were moments when I honestly didn’t think that would happen.

susiebluebell · 08/05/2022 15:55

@GinnyBee Ah yes, I knew it was coming up! Unbelievably exciting and a bit nerve-wracking?!

I'm 30+4 and have TOTALLY ballooned. Waddling around like a waddling thing.

Finding out my ELCS date in the next two weeks, absolutely terrifying.

Louharding · 08/05/2022 19:38

Hi everyone, I’m 35 weeks tomorrow and everything hurts 😂 very excited but hoping that he’s early as I had to be induced with my daughter.

@GinnyBee that is so exciting you must be bouncing off the walls! So nice to know exactly when the baby will be here 🥰 xxx

GinnyBee · 08/05/2022 21:24

Yeah I’m so done now! I can’t wait to lie on my back again and be able to breathe! 😄 not looking forward to the two-hourly feeds round the clock though.

Louharding · 09/05/2022 05:27

@GinnyBee i know what you mean! I can’t wait to be able to eat a whole meal without having to buy shares in gaviscon!

susiebluebell · 09/05/2022 08:40

Haha I was saying to my partner last night about taking out shares in Rennies!

@OnceUponAThread Somehow I had missed/forgotten that you are having a caesarean too! It must be such a mixed bag - nerves about surgery but also reassurance that you know exactly when they'll be born?

@Louharding 35 weeks, amazing! Maybe I'm imagining it, but overnight as I've turned 30 weeks everything has got more big and uncomfortable. Fingers crossed that you've not much longer to wait. Come on baby!

OP posts:
Louharding · 09/05/2022 17:45

@susiebluebell rennies are nothing compared to gaviscon tablets you should check them out 😂

yes the last few weeks feel as long as the rest of the pregnancy. Sorry to sound negative but hope you don’t get too uncomfortable! It’s all worth it in the end.

@GinnyBee good luck tomorrow please keep us updated - so exciting! Xxx

GinnyBee · 09/05/2022 21:43

Y’all with heartburn get some Omeprazole! It’s honestly the best. I tried to manage with Gaviscon but it only took the edge off a bit but didn’t get rid of it but now that I’ve been taking Omeprazole for a while the heartburn is gone! It’s available over the counter but not all pharmacies carry it. Boots do, at least online. My nearest two only had esomeprazole which isn’t tested in pregnancy so wasn’t comfortable getting it and ended up ordering from Amazon as I wanted next day delivery.

susiebluebell · 10/05/2022 11:59

@Louharding Ah I have some Gaviscon too but I hate how they go all chewy and get stuck in your teeth! Emergencies only!

@GinnyBee Thinking of you today on your big day! Can't wait to hear how it goes, when you're ready! ❤️ Welcome to the world, baby!

TwoBulletsFiveZombies · 11/05/2022 08:34

So nice to hear of everyone being so far on in their pregnancies and staying healthy ❤️ fills me with hope. I'm only 7 weeks tomorrow, but the furthest I've got without miscarrying so it feels like something of a milestone.

Managed to convincingly bluff my DM when we went for lunch at weekend, bought a bottle of wine on the way home to throw her off the scent. Trying to leave it as long as possible as she'll be more anxious than I am, but not sure I'll make it to 12 weeks. She's like a sniffer dog for babies!

I had a horrible dream a couple of nights ago too, where I misscarried while out with work colleagues. When I woke up I couldn't shake the feeling that it was real, I had to go to the bathroom before I was fully convinced it was just a dream 😦

Louharding · 11/05/2022 13:14

Hi @TwoBulletsFiveZombies nice to hear from you! That’s amazing you’re seven weeks now. Time seems to stand still in the first trimester doesn’t it. Are you going to have an early scan? Sorry if you’ve already said I have a brain like a sieve atm.
well done with throwing your mum off the scent too, I’m terrible at hiding things like this and also I’m normally such a drinker so I’m convinced everyone knew early anyway ha.

so sorry about the dream it’s horrible when things like that happen. I guess it’s a way for all the worry to come out though. Try not to let it get to you.

how are you feeling in general? Xxx
