I've definitely missed people, but hoping I've got everyone who's been active recently. Apologies if not!

A new thread 😀x exciting x

paintfairy · 24/01/2022 18:46

Thanks for the new thread!

2mumlife · 24/01/2022 19:16

Thanks for new thread!

@paintfairy I'm on 4 estradiol tablets and 3 utrogestan suppositories a day. I'll stay on all that until the 18th Feb I think it was? Then I start a process of going down to 2 of each a day for a few days, then 1 and then a period where I take meds every other day. I'm 7+5 now according to scan (should technically be 7+4) so still awhile to go until I start the wind down. I'm quite looking forward to stopping them at the moment to be honest!

TheSnufflet · 25/01/2022 09:14

Oooh new thread!

Congratulations @2mumlife that first scan is such a relief isn't it Smile

@strawberrysummer19 I'm afraid ASDA failed me last night and didn't stock any maternity clothes Angry luckily big Sainsbury's had me covered and I got a 2-pack of very comfy although not particularly supportive nursing bralettes - although they should have plenty of room to grow into. Such a shame as the ASDA ones looked so pretty online Sad

strawberrysummer19 · 25/01/2022 09:17

@TheSnufflet oh that's a shame
Mine weren't maternity ones just non wired and didn't realise they did maternity
That's good about sainsburys x

Hello everyone 😊

Hope you're all getting on okay! I'm 9+3 today and I'll be weaning off my medication from week 12 for about a week then alll done!

Although I'm a bit nervous about finishing them I am looking forward to not having to thing about tablets and gels 6 times a day 😅

Those of you around 9 weeks - did you notice any of your nausea start to fade? I've had terrible sickness since about week 5ish but this week it seems to have got a lot better!

I have a private scan on Saturday but just hoping it's normal and not something I should speak to the GP about.

strawberrysummer19 · 26/01/2022 15:10

For me my sickness has continued into week 13, the last week or so it's subsided and I probably feel the best I have since being pregnant so now have that worry is this normal as don't feel so pregnant anymore?!

I've read a lot that symptoms can fade around 9-10 week mark - I found private scans the only reassurance for me

How are you feeling @paintfairy as we very similar in dates

Are you having anymore scans before your 20wk scan scan?

Also when are you likely to hear about the next scan for 20wks? I hadn't heard at 10 weeks and had to call up and got an appointment for 13ks so suspect it the same might happen that it will be around 21wks?

X

TeddyTonks · 26/01/2022 15:28

Hi All, can I join? Currently 8+4 with IVF baby 3...we've done 7 full rounds in total, 10 transfers, lost a twin and had a few miscarriages 🤯

Everyone thinks we are mad going for a third after all the effort and heartache it takes but both DH and I just felt we weren't done. We are both from big families and wanted a little gang. Hoping this one sticks and I can be finished with IVF forever!

paintfairy · 26/01/2022 15:31

@strawberrysummer19 not much to report here. Most my symptoms went around week 10. I have bigger boobs that are more veiny and get the odd pull but nothing more. My next scan (I'll be 19+5) was booked at my 12 week one. But I've no plans for any before.

Holskey · 26/01/2022 16:07

Congratulations @TeddyTonks! Sounds like you've been really persistent!

I'm 17 weeks with ivf baby 2. We had half-planned to have 3 (we still have frozen embryos) but this pregnancy has been so difficult with sickness and exhaustion, I don't think I could do it again. I certainly don't think dp could put up with me again!

How old are your little ones?

SerendipitySunshine · 26/01/2022 16:09

My sickness stopped at about 11 weeks too. Again, I was nervous as it had felt more real when I could feel the strong sensation of nausea! But it does fade for many people and it's not a bad sign.

I'm 26 weeks now and have a massive bump, so it's back to feeling real again. I still have to pinch myself though. After going through all that treatment, it's hard to accept it has finally worked.

strawberrysummer19 · 26/01/2022 16:13

@paintfairy pretty much how I feel
And from what others have said seems pretty normal for this stage
Just a waiting game to get to the next hurdle!
Still waiting my blood results from my nhs scan then I have a gender scan at 17.5 so looking forward to that
And then just waiting on my scan date for my nhs 20wks
It's good you got yours at your 12wks
They just said I'll get a letter
X

TeddyTonks · 26/01/2022 16:16

Thanks @Holskey, congrats to you too. We have DS 4 and DD 1, they'll be 5 and 2 when baby arrives, all being well (have to caveat!). The fact we've one of each has made people even more incredulous that we've kept going!

DS is constantly asking for another baby, he even asked for two more the other day so think he'll be made up when we tell him Grin

Not so hilariously, DH has already started talking about number 4 Blush but I feel this has to be the last time, my body, emotions and finances have been through too much!

How old is your DC? Will you find out the sex?

theotherfossilsister · 26/01/2022 18:53

hello, exactly ten weeks today but baby implanted late I think as it's two days behind.

Just recovering from Covid and ended up going home sick today as felt like I'd collapse. Not sure if first trimester or post Covid. Have a scan tomorrow at ultrasound direct and terrified

Holskey · 26/01/2022 22:26

@TeddyTonks aw your family sounds lovely ❤ I have a boy who'll be 2 around my due date. We had a gender scan and we're having a girl this time, but I'd have been happy with either. I do think it's actually perfect to have a third when you've already got one of each though. There's just no pressure to produce a particular sex!

@SerendipitySunshine my favourite point in my last pregnancy was around your stage when everyone can see you're obviously pregnant and you feel baby moving all the time 🥰

@theotherfossilsister hope you feel better soon. Good luck for your scan tomorrow!

thanks @holskey

Etonmess20 · 27/01/2022 08:23

@Holskey thank you for the new thread!

Hope everyone is well! I'm 25 weeks tomorrow, time seems to be flying by since Christmas is out of the way!

Cakecakecheese · 27/01/2022 08:35

Hi everyone

I spoke to a really nice lady yesterday, she's the midwife team leader and was responding to a complaint I made regarding my due date being put down as 3 weeks late because no one seems to know how to date IVF pregnancies. She was very understanding and said she was going to talk to the team so that they know a transfer date isn't an LMP! That's all I wanted, an acknowledgement that having to argue about a due date isn't what you want and that they'll try to be better for other people in a similar position.

All I need now is for January to hurry up and sod off so my scan date gets here. It'll be at 13 weeks which is mildly annoying but considering the due date cock up it could have been a lot worse!

2mumlife · 27/01/2022 12:11

@TeddyTonks Congratulations! Wow though, I'm not sure I could do this 3 times over myself! I'm 8weeks with baby #1

So ladies, remember that other week I was complaining about lack of symptoms? We'll you're all right - vommited for the first time last night, feeling awful, nausea back with vengeance. I'm really starting to get what my sister meant when she was pregnant last year and I asked how she'd been feeling and she said she didn't recommend it!

Have my booking in appointment scheduled now for just over 2 weeks time, so I'll be 10+5 then. Should I be expecting to get my scan date through before the booking appointment? I'm just thinking my 12 week scan is gonna be super late if I need to do booking appointment before getting issued a scan date?

2mumlife · 27/01/2022 12:12

@Cakecakecheese I'm glad you've been able to be heard by the midwifery team and they are improving care / knowledge for others.

Holskey · 27/01/2022 16:10

@2mumlife I think it really depends where you are. I had to have my booking appointment first and my letter came a few days after, but other people got their scan letter before their booking appointment. I was 10+2 at my booking appointment and 12+2 at my scan so I wouldn't worry just yet.

@Cakecakecheese it's good you complained so they're hopefully better prepared and more mindful for the next lady. I complained about a horrid receptionist in my last pregnancy and I found the head midwife who called me was brilliant.

@Etonmess20 I disagree - January is soooo long! 😂 25 weeks is lovely though 💕

TeddyTonks · 27/01/2022 16:11

@2mumlife I think you should be ok, my booking appointment is at 10+3, I think we should be alright to get in on time for a dating scan as it can be done up to about 14 weeks. Personally I'd prefer sooner rather than later as want the reassurance that things are progressing favourably but it should be ok for the NHS timelines. I guess it will be somewhat down to how busy your area is as well.

LemonyT · 27/01/2022 20:47

@2mumlife @TeddyTonks my midwife was able to tell me my 12 week scan date at my booking in appointment :)

RiverRiot · 28/01/2022 08:33

Thanks for the tag @Holskey! So pleased to see everyone is getting on well. 🤗

@LemonyT Was it you that was worried about not putting on weight? I’m the same and spoke to a midwife about it the other day. She said some women only put on 2-3kgs throughout the whole pregnancy and she calls them “All baby”. She said so much depends on genetics etc. and not to worry too much so that was good.

Am 20+6 today but because my hospital likes to do everything differently I don’t have my scan til next week. Would have been 22wks if they could Hmm but DP couldn’t make those dates so we got in a bit ‘earlier’.

Re 12 scans I agree with Holskey that it really depends where you are but in my area I got the letter around the time of my booking appointment and I’d only signed up for MW services the week before so it was all pretty quick. Hope you get equally fast turnarounds @2mumlife and @TeddyTonks!

LemonyT · 28/01/2022 10:42

@RiverRiot thanks that’s good to know! I know the wait for the 20 week scan feels so long, even without them pushing it out! I can’t wait for my 20 week scan (which is bang on day I turn 20 weeks!) just to be sure baby is growing ok!
