Awww thanks. We're home now. Max didn't have the scope in the end. He definitely has reflux, and he's starting on omeprazole tomorrow morning. Before the bronchiolitis it was silent to the point of nonexistence, so fingers crossed it's transient and will go away when the bronchiolitis does. Poor little mite. With back to back infections, he's been poorly for a third of his life now.

I hope everyone is doing well.
Teddy is 9 weeks tomorrow and has his injections 😭i also have my check up after my section. Will they just ask how im feeling and check my scar?
@Dyra how is little Max getting on?

Caass45 · 25/05/2022 18:25

@Scoaf my little lizziepants had her jags today too it was pretty tough watching as a first time mum. My other half is away till 11pm and I had the fear after she woke up after her first nap screaming in pain inconsolable. So glad that hasn't continued this evening. How's your little one doing after them?

Scoaf · 25/05/2022 21:49

@Caass45
Oh nooo how is she doing so far?
Teddy's jabs are tomorrow. Im dreading them tbh. Got calpol and thermometer at the ready just incase.

Caass45 · 25/05/2022 21:54

@Scoaf as I misread! She did scream when she got them but a cuddle after she was fine.

We had one screaming episode and that was it so far. Just checked her temp and 36.8 so happy with that I've been getting lots of smiles since. It's been better than I expected. She was just sick a lot at her last feed but she's being treated for reflux so I'm used to that. She does not like the baby paracetamol but she's had all her doses now.

Good luck tomorrow hope bubs takes to it ok. X

Dyra · 25/05/2022 22:30

Awwwww. Hope DD has settled down now @Caass45 .

Max is doing much better now thanks @Scoaf . He's still got a bit of rattly breathing, and slightly sucks in his chest, but he's been checked over thoroughly and everyone has been happy he's on the mend. Just need to keep an eye out in case of any deterioration.

He finally got his jabs on Monday at the grand old age of 10+2. Took them really well. He only squawked a little bit, and took the rotavirus and his Calpol like a champ (unlike his sister who spat them both out....). No fever, so didn't need the third dose. Then slept most of the afternoon. Btw, when you take the tape off their wee legs, get it wet first. It comes off much easier and painlessly (sorry Max. I didn't see it was stuck to your babygrow Sad).

Wound has nearly healed too. Just a bit of superficial rawness left. Sudacream will hopefully finish it off.

Best of luck for tomorrow Scoaf. Hoping DS takes it in his stride and your wound has healed nicely.

Dyra · 25/05/2022 22:38

Oh your DD also didn't like Calpol? @Caass45 Mine didn't either. She spat it out for the best part of her first 2 years. Thank goodness for suppositories!

I made sure Max had a small taster (<0.5ml) prior to his jabs, so I knew he would take it. DD was such a shock at the time. I mean, in all seriousness... Who hates Calpol?! It's delicious!

OP posts:
Caass45 · 25/05/2022 22:43

@Dyra yes she did notice it at all. Just screamed and coughed taking it. I gave her some milk after which settled her down. She wasn't good with the rota virus solution either and I honestly thought poor girl doesn't know how much worse it's going to get. I was prepared for real painful cries the worst part for me was seeing g how far in she put the needle 😵‍💫

Glad your little bubs is doing better and did good with his jags x

Scoaf · 26/05/2022 19:14

@Caass45 @Dyra Thankyou.. he let out 2 awful cries that didnt last long and was a bit unsettled this afternoon, cried on and off and just wanted Mummy cuddles which i was happy to oblige.
Had some smiles at tea time on his mat so that was lovely 🥰
oh so Glad Max is on the mend. X

Dyra · 26/05/2022 19:17

Thank you @Scoaf . Do glad the jabs went well. How was your check up?

OP posts:
Scoaf · 26/05/2022 20:00

@Dyra
Tbh the doctor wasnt really interested in me. Ha.
He asked how i felt physically and emotionally and weather i had any concerns but that was it. Didn't check my wound or anything. I mean i have no worrys about it. It looks nice and neat and ive been using bio oil on it.
He gave Teddy a full mot.
Sorry another question but when should i expect AF to make an appearance. Im 9 weeks PP now and no show yet.

Caass45 · 26/05/2022 21:33

@Scoaf glad your little one did OK with his jags

Tbh my doctor didn't say much about me I had to prompt the Conversation and I'm glad I did as they found I'm low in iron hence the fatigue dizziness and headaches. She didn't check my perineal stitches either. I assume they've healed.

As for af my doc advised that now im ramping down My breastfeeding I should expect my first in the next 4 weeks or so. If I was breastfeeding more it would be longer hope that kind of helps at all

Scoaf · 27/05/2022 18:11

@Caass45 yes he was ok thanks, he slept for 5.5hours straight last night. Im hoping he does the same again tonight and it wasnt the calpol 🤣
Im not breastfeeding so maybe Af should have arrived by now

Dyra · 27/05/2022 20:50

Oh wow. It's a amazing how a decent chunk of sleep can make you feel.

Hope everyone is doing ok. We’ve all got Covid, so have had a difficult week. Baby has a terrible cough, but luckily no temperature or anything. He’s not unsettled, and has been feeding/sleeping as usual, so we feel very lucky. It’s just us who are suffering, feeling really ill but not being able to just sleep it off!

Dyra · 29/05/2022 02:40

Oh no @Derbee ! How rotten. Hope you all recover quickly. I'm up with my toddler who has vomited. Praying it's just a once and done bug that isn't going to spread to Max. Or to DH. Or to me.

Caass45 · 30/05/2022 23:29

@derbee sorry to hear you're poorly but glad bubs is not unsettled.

How are all your little ones sleeping? I find Ellie doesn't go down for the night until sometime between 11 and midnight but then usually she sleeps until 6 or 7. Today she was up at 5 but she was asleep by 11.15 so almost 6 hour stretch. Then she will only sleep for about an hour or two unless she's being cuddled or knows were near enough for comfort.

I feel I could get her down about 9 for a bit but she never usually seems settled enough and where as during the day she goes 2 and a half to 3 hours between feeds, she only goes about an hour and a half at night before she wants another

Dyra · 31/05/2022 14:40

Sounds a lot like Max now, and DD when she was little. @Caass45

DD felt like there was an internal switch set to 10pm. Any time before then and she'd wake up the second her head hit the mattress. Between 10pm and 10am she'd stay asleep. Outside those times, I either had to be holding her, or pushing her in the pram for her to nap. She didn't give me more than 2-4 hour stretches at a time until 6+ months...

Max is much in the same vein except his switch is between 8 and 9pm, and wakes up between 7 and 8am. Thankfully he's (usually) having a good 6-7 hour stretch of sleep as well.

Hi everyone. How is everyone doing?
@Derbee hope you are all feeling better now. I had covid when i was 32 weeks and i felt pretty rotten.
Just wondering if anyone noticed a change in their little one after their jabs? Teddy had his last week and since then hes just been unsettled. Crying more in the day and not sleeping well.
He sleeps well at night which im glad about but pretty hard work in the day.

Dyra · 03/06/2022 18:29

The 8 week jabs unfortunately coincide with a minor sleep regression, as well as a development leap. Max has been the same since 8 weeks, so definitely not linked to jabs. It'll get better. It's strange though isn't it? We've had these babies forever, yet they're somehow less than 3 months old...

OP posts:
Scoaf · 04/06/2022 17:14

@Dyra thanks for the info. Glad Teddy isnt the only 1. Im holding out for 12 weeks as thsts when everyone says it gets a bit better.
I know. I cant remember life before

Dyra · 04/06/2022 23:04

Max is 12 weeks today! 🎉NGL it really does feel like it's gotten better of late. He's not had his omeprazole for 3 days, and we've not had any big spit ups. A few small ones still, and he's still a little squirmy during/immediately after feeds. But nowhere near as bad as has been. His breathing is clearing up too. He's been sound asleep for the past 4 hours.

I'm thinking of getting a birth afterthoughts. I'm not bothered in the slightest by his birth, but my memories of it are incredibly hazy. I feel like I could use a run down of what happened, when, and why to bolster what I do remember. Plus I'd like to know what would happen if I were to have a third.

Derbee · 05/06/2022 22:20

Feeling much better, thanks. We were having his vaccinations tomorrow, but it’s been delayed by a week to give him time to recover from Covid.

We've started co sleeping, so feel like we’re getting decent sleep. He’s either cuddled with us overnight, or asleep in the sling/on my lap during the day. It suits us for now, and I’m enjoying it.

Dyra · 06/06/2022 13:51

Glad you're all feeling better @Derbee . Hope the jabs go well today.

OP posts:
Scoaf · 12/06/2022 18:56

@Dyra

Teddy has been alot more settled the last few days so maybe due to nearly 12 weeks like you said. He laughed properly for the first time today and i sobbed like a baby 🤣
Birth afterthoughts? Ive never heard of that.
@Derbee glad you're feeling better.
