Didn't quite realise we were so close to the end of the second one. Blush So let's have another one! Grin I'll post the due date list in a moment.

36 scan has thrown up a bit of a surprise. After believing baby has been cephalic since 20 weeks, baby is in fact breech.... Gah! Booked into breech clinic + ECV next week and I guess we go from there. Everything crossed that baby turns before then, or the ECV works. I doubt I'd be a good candidate for a breech birth, but I really do not want a caesarean. Sad

Oh no @Dyra ! My girl has turned around in lots of positions since 20 weeks but at 36 she could be settled into breech... oh gosh, I hope they manage to turn her!! When are they going to do it?

MiracleBaby2022 · 28/02/2022 15:33

I said 'her' - but I guess you don't know yet if it's a girl or a boy. Anyway, keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

Dyra · 28/02/2022 16:15

Thanks. 🥰 It's odd because DD was in every position except cephalic until 36 weeks. This little pest is doing the opposite! Next Tuesday is the clinic + ECV (if needed) funnily enough. Need to rebook my midwife appointment as it's at the same time. I'm hoping if it doesn't work they'll try again. I think if after 2 attempts baby is still breech, I'll be reconciled with a caesarean.

Oh gosh... I hope they are successful!! Keep us posted. 🤞🏼

Catconfusion · 28/02/2022 18:32

@Dyra oh no, I hope baby turns or the procedure works for you. How frustrating! Xx

Catconfusion · 28/02/2022 18:33

@MiracleBaby2022 I’m not sure I’d get on with codeine. I seem to remember it upsets my tummy. I am in a lot of pain but only 3 and a half weeks to go so hopefully if I try to take it easy I’ll get through it. Xx

Catconfusion · 28/02/2022 18:36

Is anyone else finding baby is having lots of hiccups? I’m finding I’m getting 2/3 episodes a day. I think it puts me on edge because I know it can be a sign of distress. It started last Wednesday and obviously we had a thorough check up on Friday so any cord issues would have been picked up. She was actually having a lot of hiccups when she got into distress on Friday. I guess it’s just a normal part of development. Is anyone else getting hiccups? Xx

MiracleBaby2022 · 28/02/2022 18:52

@Catconfusion oh yes stay away from it if it gives you tummy upsets, hope you can cope with the pain for the next few weeks! X

MiracleBaby2022 · 28/02/2022 18:55

@Catconfusion I had no idea it was a sign of distress!! Mine has about 3 episodes a day, and has had it right since the beginning at 17 weeks when I first noticed her moving. I thought hiccups were healthy and that they're just practicing their breathing! Xx

Scoaf · 28/02/2022 18:58

@Catconfusion
My little one is getting hiccups everyday too and i read the article about cord issues and i was starting to worry. Ive asked 2 midwives about it, 1 is a family member and 1 at the hospital whilst getting an injection and they both said they hadnt heard that and hiccups was normal as its the baby practising breathing. X

Here's what they say on the website 'healthline'- but not sure how reliable their information is:

Catconfusion · 28/02/2022 19:05

@MiracleBaby2022 I think generally it’s a healthy sign and practice breathing. I’ve not had any hiccups at all until last week. I think they often calm down towards the end from 36-40 weeks. Mine have however ramped up. In rare cases it can mean cord issues. The doctor told me they can generally tell if any cord issues from the monitor. The heart rate decelerates. I also had the Doppler blood flow scan as cord looks good. I just think what happened on Friday put me on edge. I’ve also started worrying about GD. I passed the test at 28 weeks though I now have the polyhydramnious which can be a sign of it. They said they’d test in hospital but then didn’t. Not sure whether to speak to the midwife and push for a retest in case. The consultant didn’t seem worried.

Pregnancy can be so worrying! It can so difficult to relax. I might speak to the midwife tomorrow for some reassurance. Xx

Hi everyone
I was on these threads months ago but haven't commented in ages, I have followed some though.
I am 33+4 with my first and 2 days ago I had sudden pressure down below. I thought maybe the baby had gone head down but I'm unsure. The pressure has stayed and its really uncomfortable to walk. I also had what I think were braxton hicks around the same time.
The last few hours the pressure is now painful. It's kind of like shooting pains and it just hurts, it is not just pressure and I'm really struggling to walk/move/change positions. If I stay still it's not so bad but aches. This feeling is also kind of in my vagina, definately below my bump and I feel like I'm literally needing to hold down there just to move or walkBlush

When it ached I thought wow this will be a hard few weeks but the last few hours have been really tough I'm really hoping this is not it for weeks as I'm going to seriously struggle at work. I'm struggling at home to walk at all, Its really painful.
Gather the pressure is normal but is this pain down there?
Just so weird all of a sudden 2 days ago and then it's got worse again today.
Thankyou!

Catconfusion · 28/02/2022 19:12

Oh no @Lovebug06 I’m sorry to hear about the pain. Could it be pelvic pain? I’m struggling with this at the moment. I’m carrying a big baby with extra fluid. I also have arthritis in my hips so my pelvis is under a lot of strain. I’m not able to do much at all now. I have to say it sometimes feels internal but I think that’s because the pelvic bones run so close to the birth canal.

I have no solution as the only thing that’s helped me is limiting movement. There are medications you could try. What does your midwife think? Xx

MiracleBaby2022 · 28/02/2022 19:17

@Lovebug06 sounds like you've got what I've got - baby head down I'm finding it difficult to walk with the pressure and I've also got 'lightning crotch' since day before yesterday. It's properly painful! Mine comes and goes though, does yours?

MiracleBaby2022 · 28/02/2022 19:18

@Catconfusion I agree, there are so many things to worry about during pregnancy- hopefully you can get some reassurance and maybe an extra scan! 🤞🏼 xx

Catconfusion · 28/02/2022 20:04

@MiracleBaby2022 I don’t think we’ll get any more scans to be honest as we had one on Friday and they like to leave two weeks between. When we go in on the 8th we get a Doppler scan to check blood flow. There isn’t really time for another unless they do one the week I have the c section.

I’ll have a chat with the midwife in the morning and see if I can have the GD test. Until then I think I’ll cut out sugar and limit carbs just in case. The consultant really didn’t think I could have it but I guess you never know. Xx

Lovebug06 · 28/02/2022 20:55

@Catconfusion @MiracleBaby2022 it was awful pressure but it's now painful. I thought it could be that lightening crotch but it's not coming and going it's staying. I have this awful dread about having this for weeks and it's been 2 and a bit days 😂
Limiting movement too I'm trying as every movement is making me wince, I'm off tommorow thank god but then I'm at work for the rest of the week and I'm stood up most of the time! I am dreading it. X

MiracleBaby2022 · 28/02/2022 21:04

@Lovebug06 sounds dreadful! My lightening crotch makes me scream when they hit sometimes, but at least it goes away. I wish I could recommend my physio to you - she'd be perfect, but anyway a really good physio with pregnancy and pelvic issues as their special field would be my advice.

Derbee · 01/03/2022 12:06

@Dyra not sure if you’ve been on this website at all, but my midwife and my yoga teacher recommended it to me, and my friend has found it useful…

I've just had my appointment with the obstetrician and she says I'll be induced at 39+3 which brings me up to 25th March. It's a Friday... And I'm thinking 'weekend staff' for my labour 😬 - I really really don't want weekend staff to handle my labour!! Should I ask if they can do it early in the week instead? Not sure they'd agree...

It doesn't hurt to ask, I hope it goes well for you
Lovebug06 · 01/03/2022 19:39

I'm in so much pain I don't know what to do with myself 😢
I thought it was lightening crotch but it's there with every movement, constant and doesn't go. When I sit as still as possible I get slight relief but it's aching and throbbing.
Any movement is making me gasp.
I have the midwife tommorow but she is useless so I don't think she will care and will fob me off. Generally doesn't answer calls or respond or anything.
I don't know what to do. Work tommorow and I'm meant to train someone who is replacing me. First day with her and I'm dreading it, how can I do it when I feel like this and ill be so embarrassed.
I could deal with the uncomfortable pressure but not this. Today I was meant to get bits done. Yet any movement has hurt down there so much I have to stand and breathe, it's brought me to tears!
I don't want to complain because I feel like it will just be pregnancy and its a longed for baby I wanted badly and ill look silly.... Plus the fact people will say well you wait for Labour then! But I'm hurting so much I could sit here and cry. I hoped it would be better this morning but its not it's worse today.
When I think of people leaving for maternity leave as tired and uncomfortable I was getting that as I was starting to feel it, but the thought of this pain for weeks is awful, I can't do anything! I'm praying it goes but the baby is going to get bigger so it will be hell if it doesn't.

Sorry for all that but I'm totally miserable today and dreading tommorow

MiracleBaby2022 · 01/03/2022 19:46

@Lovebug06 oh I feel for you!! Are you able to get to a pelvic specialist physio at all? Painkillers??
