Didn't quite realise we were so close to the end of the second one. Blush So let's have another one! Grin I'll post the due date list in a moment.

Oh yes I've only bought super cheap ones! I'll see how it goes.

Really? I'm kind of hoping she won't be as active after birth as this, with this amount of kicking I'm wondering if she's got ADHD 😆 How old is your daughter now? Is she really active? Perhaps there is a correlation after all. Midwife says there isn't.

Catconfusion · 26/02/2022 18:08

@MiracleBaby2022 so sorry to hear you had to be admitted. Glad it was short lived. So pleased your baby is head down. Mine is now breech.

So I had quite a day yesterday. I got admitted into hospital with stomach pains. The baby then got into distress and all the alarms went off. It was so scary. The doctor said they might have to deliver her that day. Luckily she calmed down. They’re not really sure what happened. I’ve now been diagnosed with polyhydramnios so all the weight of the baby and that are stretching my c section scar and pulling the ligaments in my tummy. They let me home but I need to take it very easy. She’s weighing 8 pounds 4 now already at 35 weeks 😮. They’re making a decision on the 8th March as to whether I need to be admitted for the last two weeks as she’s still in an awkward position. Just can’t wait now until she’s here in hopefully four weeks time. Xx

Dyra · 26/02/2022 18:17

DD is 2.5 now. She's a regular toddler I guess. Hard to say tbh. Thanks to the pandemic, I don't really know how active she is in comparison to other toddlers. Moves a fair amount, but will sit still to play. But when she was little(r!) she would lie there and kick her wee leggies to her hearts content. She wasn't much of a wriggler or did much in the way of stretching on the inside, but kicking... Oh yes... The kicking....

@Catconfusion oh goodness, pains, breech baby as well as polyhydramnios and a very big baby all sounds like a scary concoction!! My baby was also in distress when I was admitted, but luckily no alarms. What were the signs? Heart rate high? My baby's heart rate went up to 200.

The severe kidney pains actually returned today, but so far it's manageable with opioids at home - just hoping it won't get worse. It's all a bit worrying at this stage of the pregnancy though. Trying not to think about it.

MiracleBaby2022 · 26/02/2022 18:30

@Dyra haha yes I'm sure there's probably no correlation between the two, but awww I can just picture my little baby laying there kicking her cute little legs... 🥰

Dyra · 26/02/2022 18:33

My goodness @Catconfusion! What a fright that must've been. Glad you and baby are ok and back home. Over 8lb at 35 weeks... Wow. Huge baby. That plus that excess fluid must be a huge strain on your body. I hope DS will allow you to rest and relax on the sofa for the next few days/weeks.

Are they thinking GDM at all @Catconfusion btw? Hope you and baby stay well.

@MiracleBaby2022 oh no! Hopefully the pains go away and don't come back.

Oooh I think I'm starting to lose my mucous plug!! How do I know if it is that and not something else though... 🤔

Dyra · 26/02/2022 23:12

I've been working on the assumption that any hardish globs of mucus in discharge/pants are from the plug. I've never had any blood stained, so I guess it's still a way off go time. Though I did have some minor spotting the other day after DH and I DTD. Blush No other issues, so must just be a case of cervix is very easily irritated at the moment. Poor guy is no longer allowed near me until after due date.

Fx it's the start of things getting ready for you!

@Catconfusion what a scary time for you! Glad your home now and hopefully you get time to just take it easy.

@MiracleBaby2022 I was wondering this. The past few mornings I've passed a lot of mucus but not sure that's what it is for me because its still very creamy in colour and texture so I'm guessing it's just normal pregnancy discharge for me. Hard to know with your first though eh?

I would also be happy if baby comes any time soon. I actually get myself all down sometimes about still being oregnant then I have to kick myself because it's such a special thing to go through and it'll soon be over and I'll miss it 😅 so conflicted

Catconfusion · 27/02/2022 08:09

@MiracleBaby2022 yes it’s a frustrating combination. I’m really uncomfortable and it’s a bit more risky. It was a combination of high heartrate and increased movements. My tummy was going crazy. I think the alarm was going off because it wouldn’t stabilise. The doctor then came rushing in and they literally started prepping me for a section. It then started stabilising.

Sorry to hear about the kidney pains. What have they given you for that? Xx

Catconfusion · 27/02/2022 08:14

Thanks so much @Dyra yes it’s really uncomfortable. I have arthritis in my hips and it’s really painful. I now think the pains were ligaments stretching under the bump rather than the c section scar. Everything is really tender.

No, they’re not thinking GD. My son was 98 centile and I had polyhydramnios so likely we just make very big baby’s. All GD tests were negative with him. I had a test at 28 weeks with this pregnancy which was negative. They said they could repeat it if I wanted then forgot to do it. I might call my midwife on Monday and see if I can have it just to rule it out. I have no other signs of it. Xx

Catconfusion · 27/02/2022 08:18

Thanks @Caass45 I just can’t wait for her to be here now. Totally identify with what you said about feeling conflicted. It’s my last pregnancy yet somehow haven’t really been able to enjoy it much with one thing or another. Xx

GeorgiaMcGraw · 27/02/2022 08:46

Hello everyone, how are you doing? Sorry I disappeared for a bit, hope you don't mind me dropping in again. Have a lovely Sunday!

MiracleBaby2022 · 27/02/2022 09:47

@Caass45 @Dyra yes definitely hard to know. I was wondering if maybe it's mucous following the infection I have, or even that it could have got irritated after they examined me to check I wasn't actually in labour. I've googled pictures of what it looks like and it's certainly similar. Mine's like a creamy yellowy thing, quite a lot of it but it's not in streaks nor lumps - and no blood. I'll see if any more comes out in the next few days.

MiracleBaby2022 · 27/02/2022 09:53

@Catconfusion ah that does sound very similar, my tummy was going crazy too and it looked like I was having contractions, baby's heart rate went to 200 and stayed mostly up quite high between 160-180 but she seemed to calm down in between. I guess that's why the alarms didn't go off.

I'm managing on codeine at the moment, was really awful again yesterday but hoping this is the end of it now after they switched me over to different antibiotics.

Caass45 · 27/02/2022 09:53

@MiracleBaby2022 definitely hard to know. Past 2 days I've woken with diarrhea too (I know, tmi 😅) but I can't imagine for me it's baby coming early cause I dont think she's dropped yet. Still feel her butt right up under my ribs. It's all the unknown isn't it! My discharge is basically just like normal pregnancy discharge just some mornings recently there's been a lot. Weird. Google sometimes is great and sometimes awful 😂

@Catconfusion I'm a little glad I'm not the only one 😅 sometimes feel so guilty thinking I wish pregnancy would be done and baby here now. Especially when I know a lot of people who struggle to get pregnant.

@GeorgiaMcGraw hi welcome back 😊

Catconfusion · 27/02/2022 11:00

@MiracleBaby2022 yes I think that’s why the alarm went off and the doctor came in. She was over the time they give it to calm down. Hence prepping for c section. All very scary. What did they put it down to in your case? Was it the infection? They’ve just told me she didn’t like being on the monitor. It seems extreme though for her heart-rate to stay so high for that long. I went in for the pains in my tummy so it seemed unrelated. My blood pressure and pulse were normal so didn’t seem to be my anxiety causing it. Have you had increased movements since? I’m getting a little paranoid about the movements. They’re definitely more pronounced but then she’s now 8 pounds 4 so probably more powerful. Not had a crazy episode though. They’ve told me to go back if it happens again.

How are you feeling on the codeine? I’m wondering if I need to take something for my ligament and scar pain. I can hardly walk. They offered oramorph but I worry about stronger medication than paracetamol. Xx

MiracleBaby2022 · 27/02/2022 15:54

@Catconfusion they didn't really say much to be honest, just commented that her heart rate was very high. One of the midwives thought it was just because she's an extremely wriggly baby and she said that her heart rate will increase when she kicks and wriggles just like when you and I go for a jog or something. She actually said "who knows what goes on in there!" - not really very reassuring! She was very agitated - and when my pain was so unbearable I was shaking that's when my stomach suddenly went rock hard and pointy, so all the adrenaline must have rushed to her. Poor baby, but she did calm down...

Because of the drug intolerance I can't take many codeine, it's really only for emergencies - so yesterday when I had another episode of severe pain I just took one and it knocked me out for the rest of the day. I don't think you'd react to codeine like I do, I'm an anomaly 😆. Before I developed drug intolerance though codeine was just like any other painkiller, just stronger. I've not heard of the one you mentioned!

Catconfusion · 27/02/2022 16:17

Ah bless you, it all sounds really scary. Not very helpful just to say who knows. Thank goodness she calmed down.

It must be awkward with your intolerances. Oramorph is a form of morphine that’s safe in pregnancy and when breastfeeding. They generally give it after a c section if the pain is severe. I’ve never had any form of morphine before so a little nervous about having it without good reason. I’m hoping just to manage by limiting movement and resting lots. If its still bad in a couple of weeks I’ll try something. Xx

MiracleBaby2022 · 27/02/2022 16:34

@Catconfusion hmm I had morphine once through (via injection not tablets) and I had a bad reaction during the injection but you shouldn't have that issue if they're giving you tablets. Could you not try the more standard paracetamol + codeine concoction? It's definitely strong enough for my kidney pains! Xx

Countingchicks · 27/02/2022 22:42

@MiracleBaby2022 I used to take codeine for my chronic back pain but like you developed a bad reaction to it so I only have it for emergency use and have to take anti sickness tablets with it. Any opioid is a problem for me now ☹️

MiracleBaby2022 · 27/02/2022 23:02

@Countingchicks it's morphine I had a problem with. When they inject morphine into your arm 1 in a 1000 people or something (I don't really know the real figures) have a terrible reaction in the arm as the morphine goes up through your bloodstream. The pain is severe and terrifying, but short lived. Not an issue though if you get it in tablet-form.

Countingchicks · 27/02/2022 23:24

@MiracleBaby2022 goodness that is horrifying!

MiracleBaby2022 · 27/02/2022 23:56

@Countingchicks it was a bit scary, but it's a very rare reaction - could be much rarer than the figure I quoted as I can't remember what the ambulance driver said to me when it happened
