Dont like it. Screams 'loud and horsey' to me.

Much prefer Giselle...

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 21/12/2007 21:17

it is very pretty - if my dh was italian i would have a fied day

notnowbernardimstuffingthebird · 21/12/2007 21:17

Good on you! How old is the babe?

Anna8888 · 21/12/2007 21:18

Arabella is pretty but very sloaney. You'd need a large house in the country, ponies and to send her to boarding school.

Anna8888 · 21/12/2007 21:19

If your husband is Italian there are lots of gorgeous names to choose from. I love Maria Novella or Artemisia...

Anna8888 · 21/12/2007 21:20

or Maddalena...

i think it is the antithesis of loud - delicate and well mannered

robinredbreast · 21/12/2007 21:24

and what is a good middle name?

OP posts:
Izzybel · 21/12/2007 21:24

Bella is a lovely name too. Are you having a girl then?

Mincepiedermama · 21/12/2007 21:24

I like it very much too. I also like Bella for short.

turquoise · 21/12/2007 21:24

Sorry - meant before I clicked IYSWIM, lots of girl's name threads and that name just tickled me a bit for a baby, don't know why. I am burbling tonight (been wine tasting), ignore me.

JackieNoel · 21/12/2007 21:24

Middle name depends on your surname. Something with 2 syllables?

Mincepiedermama · 21/12/2007 21:25

Paula we're all desperate to know his name now.

JingEllBells · 21/12/2007 21:26

Like it! Arabella doesn't sound too posh to me, possibly because I speak Italian, so it sounds more Italian than sloaney. Yes, devonsmummy, 'bella' means beautiful, and is a lovely shortened version.

notnowbernardimstuffingthebird · 21/12/2007 21:26

Glad all is well in your world Robin

Here's to baby Giselle/Arabella/Bella... What if it's a boy?!

Izzybel · 21/12/2007 21:26

Hmm a nice middle name... Maybe something with only one syllable as Arabella is quite long.

IdrisYouaMerryChristmas · 21/12/2007 21:27

Arabella is what my Tiny Tears doll was called.

I like the name .
