Grin
SSStollenzeit · 21/12/2007 20:33

not too keen tbh sorry. Prefer it to Delilah though.

Does it flow nicely with your surname?

robinredbreast · 21/12/2007 20:34

Makes me think of leggy antelope too...not sure why leggy? Is there a supermodel called Giselle?!

MrsBadger · 21/12/2007 20:35

love it
was at school with one - shortened to Elle, which is still pretty

dingdongbelgianbunsonhigh · 21/12/2007 20:35

OK if you have french connections but bit pretentious if not tbh. Sorry!

SSStollenzeit · 21/12/2007 20:36

You're thinking of La Buenchen from Brasil.

Actually she's not my idea of a Giselle really, picture something more frail and ethereal.

We're all sort of conjuring up gazelle somehow

devonsmummy · 21/12/2007 20:37

antelope for me too

BitTiredNow · 21/12/2007 20:38

if she grows up tall and ethereal then lovely. If she has more of a size 14-16 frame, not so good.

SSStollenzeit · 21/12/2007 20:39

It's growing on me, as I keep running it off my tongue. Could it be nice.

SantaGotStuckUpTheGreensleeve · 21/12/2007 20:39

It dies remind me of a gazelle, which is no problem because they are very pretty and graceful animals - it also reminds me of the ballet, which is beautiful and makes me cry

I would probably assume there was a French connection in the family if I met a Giselle, but I wouldn't think anything more of it if there wasn't.

It's just a very nice pretty word, really.

robinredbreast · 21/12/2007 20:39

well we do have italian conections but not french [who says you have to be french though to use this name, anyway it german]

Miaou · 21/12/2007 20:40

Anna8888 · 21/12/2007 20:40

It's Gisèle not Giselle in French.

robinredbreast · 21/12/2007 20:40

connections i mean lol

FrannyandZooey · 21/12/2007 20:41

Oh lovely, we have a neighbour called Giselle and I think it is so pretty

Anna8888 · 21/12/2007 20:41

Thought it was Gisela in German? Anybody? Giselle is the anglicised version IMO.

robinredbreast · 21/12/2007 20:42

well there are two different ways to spell it anna.

robinredbreast · 21/12/2007 20:43

bittirednow - mmm i suppose it would suit a tall slim person more,as you do tend to think of gazelle, could but trick for a bigger girl/woman that is a fair point
