Wow @tashx that all sounds pretty horrendous, I'm so sorry you had such a bad time of it. Do you have any other children or is this the first time you've given birth? The main thing is you're both OK and he's here and safe, hope you managed to have a nice Christmas together at least x

tashx · 30/12/2021 11:47

@burtle4

He's my 5th baby
My other 4 have been straight forward births
And
Two were home births
So a big difference
But
I'm glad we both safe

Curlymam88 · 30/12/2021 12:16

Congratulations @tashx baby is absolutely beautiful.
Hope you recover from your section well. I had a section beginning of December and I think after the first week I had no pain and was quite mobile again. Keep on top of the painkillers, if they don't offer them I always asked for them.
Enjoy your beautiful baby and take it easy.

Curlymam88 · 30/12/2021 12:24

@tashx sorry just re read you didn't have section after. Still hope you have a good recovery though

PheebsJ · 30/12/2021 12:25

@tashx oh no that sounds awful, must’ve been scary. Glad you and baby are safe and well now, congratulations he’s gorgeous!

tashx · 30/12/2021 12:28

Thankyou @PheebsJ @Curlymam88 😘

jadey1991 · 30/12/2021 14:05

@tashx aww bless you hun you did have a bad. I'm like you tho. My birth was traumatic too and this is my 3rd baby. I thought the more you have the water it gets (that's what midwife said and family)... I'm just glad that you and baby are safe and well. He has a good birth weight considering he is 3 weeks early. Do you have a name for him?

tashx · 30/12/2021 14:22

He is Jesse

jadey1991 · 30/12/2021 15:01

@PheebsJ & @tashx congratulations!!!

Beautiful babies! 😍

I feel so rubbish on here right now it takes me ages to catch up 😂 I'm currently trying to take in every second with my other half before he goes back to work next week. Recovering from emergency c section has been harder than I thought 😅 I hate people doing things for me but I know I have to rest after such a traumatic time but it's so hard.

Hope everyone is healing well!

Who's left patiently waiting for their babies to come? Xxx

Added a little pic of our sleepy burrito! He's changed so much in 12 days, just saw the midwife, he was born 8lbs 5, went down to 8lbs 1 last Thursday and he's now 8lbs 10! He's a chunky boy!

@LouLou0505 aww look at him, he looks so sweet. I can only imagine how you feel coz I feel the same. Josiah is now 15 days old and I'm still recovering. I'm still having sleepless nights because Josiah isn't sleeping properly. I saw health visitor yesterday and she said the way he is acting is normal but he looks like he is in pain. I don't know if it's trapped wind but me and my partner were so scared the other night coz he kept crying in pain. I've been using infacol in case he has some colic but can you get colic with breastfeeding ? I've never experienced this with my other 2 children so it's all new to me. Health visitor weighed him yesterday and birth weight was was 9lb6oz saw midwife a couple weeks after and he was 9lb now he is 10lb7oz😱. Honestly I don't know how I pushed him out of me. Imagine me going over my due date🤦🏽‍♀️..

By the way who has shoulder dysphasia birth? I want to ask a question. X

@tashx congratulations!

I'm unfortunately still pregnant (am I the only one?). 2 sweeps down that haven't worked. Got a third and fourth booked in at the weekend. Very envious of you all with your beautiful babies!

LouLou0505 · 30/12/2021 16:31

@jadey1991 - ah sorry to hear he's in pain! Im bottle feeding so not 100% sure but my sister in law was breastfeeding for 7months and had to use infacol the whole time!

God he is a big boy!! Is he long?

So far we've been lucky through the night 🤞🏼he's a very hungry baby and finishes 4oz so sleeps a good 4 hours at night

burtle4 · 30/12/2021 17:26

@jadey1991 our first had colic and I was breastfeeding him, it's horrible. A lot of squirming, crunching up, screaming in pain and sleepless nights. It was such a relief to have our daughter afterwards who didn't have it. Thankfully Dexter seems OK so far but I really feel for you if Josiah has it. Unfortunately there's not much you can do to help other than ride it out and wait for their digestive system to catch up. Infacol and gripe water (when they're old enough) helps a bit. Massaging their tummy when they look in pain and pumping their legs gently up and down. It feels like it will last forever but they do grow out of it eventually x

jadey1991 · 30/12/2021 17:30

@Theawkwardblonde aww bless you hun, baby will come soon. Has @JW2021 had her baby yet?

OP posts:
jadey1991 · 30/12/2021 17:32

@LouLou0505 oh so does baby not tense himself up at all? Because Josiah does. I know he isn't constipated. Yes he is a big boy. No he isn't. And to be honest he doesn't look like a 10lb baby. He looks small.

OP posts:
jadey1991 · 30/12/2021 17:35

@burtle4 oh I see, yeah I've never experienced this before so it's all new to me. Thanks for the advice hun. I've noticed that infacol has helped slightly. I was told gripe water you can't use until 8 weeks old. I'm sure it will pass soon. X

@burtle4 how did you manage to sleep?

lovebeingmum9 · 30/12/2021 19:27

Hi all hope your all well! Love looking back through the messages I've missed and seeing all the lovely chat and support....aswell as beautiful baby pics! 😍 @jadey1991 my 2nd born had shoulder dystocia....hope your recovering well x
@tashx congrats on your baby boy 💙 how you finding it with 5! I also had our 5th and he's slotted in lovely but it's quite hectic at times lol wouldn't have it any other way though 😇 x

burtle4 · 30/12/2021 20:02

@jadey1991 we didn't really sleep! It was exhausting and he was very hard to settle. But he still doesn't need a lot of sleep now and he's nearly 10, up between 5 and 6am most mornings so it might be more to do with that than the colic. I do remember him getting noticeably better after 12 weeks though. It's tough and I feel for you x

jadey1991 · 30/12/2021 21:45

@lovebeingmum9 ahhh thanks hun... I'm slowly recovering. Still hurts. Quick question hun, did your child have any problems at all. I've noticed Josiah isn't happy. He is squirming a lot. I've also noticed this today about 15 min ago on his tummy. I've contacted 111 and waiting for clinician to call me

Hello everyone!
Had my OB Apt yesterday - Christmas due date came & went - baby measures 9lb 5ozs by the scan & no dilation what so ever at almost 41 wks! Dr said with baby being on the big side there’s less than 25% chance of me delivering vaginally as my pelvis is small - same as my mom & sister too.
I’m Scheduled for a C section tomorrow Dec 31st ! So looking like a New Years Eve baby for me! Happy New Year everyone! 🎉🥳

jadey1991 · 30/12/2021 22:23

@JW2021 aww hun, I do hope everything goes well for you tomorrow. Keep us updated please. You will have a new year baby
