@burtle4 thanks for asking hun, we are currently in hospital as he was admitted. They don't know what it is and I have been told he isn't allowed to be feed. He did have a NGT in but nurse took it out. He is currently hooked up on fluids as I cannot feed him.. they don't know what could be causing this so they are investigating. Been such a stressful time. He has only just gone to sleep since coming into hospital at 11pm.
Once again thanks for asking x

Good luck for today @JW2021 hope all goes well 😊
@jadey1991 sorry to hear baby is in hospital, I hope they can find out what the problem is quickly. Poor boy.

burtle4 · 31/12/2021 07:52

Oh no @jadey1991 sorry to hear that, hope they manage to get to the bottom of it ASAP and you get to go home soon. At least you know he's in the best place, let us know how he gets on x

jadey1991 · 31/12/2021 07:54

They say I can't feed him for 48 hours. I just have to sit here and hear my 15 day old baby cry his lungs out. I can't take it. It's so cruel

@JW2021 good luck! Very envious you're managing a 2021 baby! I'm still sat counting down till my induction date..

@jadey1991 hope everything is okay with the little one.

lovebeingmum9 · 31/12/2021 15:23

@jadey1991 aw hun sorry to hear that, I hope josiah and you are OK!? hopefully they can give you answers....must be terrible that your not allowed to feed him aswell! I must say as traumatic as my labour and sons birth was we luckily had nothing else aside that! He was a very sleepy and content baby which worried me at the time, after his newborn pediatric check they thought he might of had clicky hips so we had to go for a follow up to check but.... came back normal (because he was so big the pediatrician couldn't even get her hands around his thighs he was so chunky so that's probably why) He's a happy and healthy 7yr old now but I did alot of research about shoulder dystocia after his birth, as had no knowledge of it before. And I kept a close eye on his progress just to make sure there wasn't underlying nerve damage or anything etc Hoping it's nothing hun and can be easily sorted out and back home! X

burtle4 · 31/12/2021 17:35

@jadey1991 how are you getting on? My first son had liver problems when he was born and they had to put him on a special formula because he wasn't allowed to feed from me, is that what they're doing with you? It is hard but hopefully he's taken to the bottle ok? What are they saying they think it might be and what are the symptoms?
We just had to go into hospital for jaundice blood tests which was pretty awful, they had to do three attempts to get blood which was so hard to watch Dexter screaming in pain. It's not nice but I guess the doctors are just doing their jobs x

jadey1991 · 31/12/2021 18:34

Hey all, well they are keeping us in till Sunday as he is on antibiotics and fluids. They say that they have only seen something similar in premature babies so they are investigating what it could be. X-ray isn't showing anything alarming other then stools inside waiting to be released. They have put him on any type of formula just glucose And potassium fluids. He apparently has jaundice although the numbers are not as high where he needs to be under the light but they are going to keep any eye on it.

Symptoms are swollen belly, bruising around belly, squirming like he is constipated and going red in the face.

Curlymam88 · 31/12/2021 19:25

@jadey1991 aw im so sorry. It really is awful. Leola was the same she was only on the glucose through a drip and I could see she wanted to feed. And all the blood they had to take too and cannulars its the worst thing seeing your little one in pain but they are in the best place getting the best treatment. I hope you can both get some rest Flowers

JW2021 · 31/12/2021 22:22

Jade I’m so sorry you have to go thru such a traumatic time - they seem so helpless when they are first born sending prayers to you ❤️
In other news….. look who’s here…….Presenting Jack James - 8lbs 2ozs - 21 inches long - C section - just as well the cord was round his little neck twice!

@Curlymam88 it all seems to happen at night. They are taking him for X-ray again and taking more blood. They said depending on the X-ray we might be transferred to a different hospital. I'm hoping and praying it's just gas. But there could be a possibility that it is something to do with his bowels

LouLou0505 · 01/01/2022 09:36

@JW2021 - congratulations!! Another Jack (obviously the best name ever 😏) absolutely beautiful!!

And congrats @Decadesbcun! Sorry it was so traumatic I had that too so I feel you pain LITERALLY! Rest up and enjoy those cuddles on the sofa!!

Come on @Theawkwardblonde you can do it! You've obviously made it too comfy in there!🤍

We've made such beautiful babies 😩😍

burtle4 · 01/01/2022 10:09

Congratulations @Decadesbcun @JW2021, both gorgeous boys 💙 enjoy your newborn cuddles!
@jadey1991 I really hope Josiah just has gas and nothing more complicated, it's such a worry being in hospital with them when they're so little having so many tests performed. We had to take our first born up to King's College in London when he was 3 weeks old and it was really scary so I know how you're feeling. Hopefully x-ray has shown all is ok with bowels though and you'll be home soon 🤞
Happy New Year to all you ladies on here. I was thinking yesterday how crazy that for me, I came into 2021 having been TTC for 2 years with no idea that it would actually happen and have ended the year with a gorgeous little boy and our family complete. I'm feeling very lucky 🥰

lovebeingmum9 · 01/01/2022 10:10

Happy New Year everyone! 🥳Congratulations @JW2021 @Decadesbcun on the birth of your beautiful babies!

@burtle4 oh yes I've been kings college hospital. I had to go there when I was pregnant with my eldest.. apparently X-ray shows nothing concerning. However he may have some clogged up poo. It could be hard poo but waiting for specialists at royal London hospital to have a look. They said he might have hard poo that's hard to come out because he is so small. I questioned this and apparently it could be something that I've eaten and I've passed it through in my milk and baby has had a reaction to it.
This is all guess work. I just need to know. Swelling and discolouration has gone down a lot.
