@jadey1991 that's amazing that josiah is sleeping through, that must feel so good to be getting sleep again! How are everyone else's doing with sleep? I feel like I've got one of the worst sleepers having gone back to waking every 2 hours last night! We had got to a 5 hour stint followed by shorter ones through the rest of the night but just recently he seems to have reverted back to every two hours 🤦‍♀️ I'm just hoping it's a side effect of the jabs and it won't be a permanent thing though!

2020mission · 14/03/2022 23:26

@burtle4 Matthew is usually good and will sleep through 12-8am (mostly due to co-sleeping 🙈) although I do wake him for breast feeds twice. I have a feeling he won't sleep as well as usual tonight though as he's been a bit off after having his first immunisations today. He's been looking pale, crying more and was sweating at the back of his neck despite having been given all the doses of paracetamol we can give. Dreading the poos to come! I've not noticed any signs of teething yet but he is only 11 weeks, not looking forward to it 😅 it's my birthday tomorrow. My husband was planning to take me for a lunch out and let his gran look after him for a couple of hours but I don't know if it will happen.
Only if he's fine 🤞

jadey1991 · 14/03/2022 23:53

@2020mission aww bless him, hopefully he will be better soon. I did notice with Josiah that he did have the sweats when he has his first jabs... aww I must message you tomorrow. It was my mums birthday today so I took her for lunch lol... hopefully your husband can take tou for lunch and Matthew will be fine with gran

@lovebeingmum9 leola is doing good thanks apart from the after effects of her second jabs.
@jadey1991 have you had your bloods rechecked after giving birth? Could be iron is low? Or vitamin D or something? Or just tired from looking after little guy lol.
Happy Birthday @2020mission how is Matthew doing now? Hope you have a lovely birthday 🎂

Curlymam88 · 15/03/2022 07:18

In regards to sleep. I think leola is getting into a bit of a routine now. We usually give her a bath at half 5 she has her massage and a bottle then she chills for 5 with us but come 7 o'clock shes wanting lights out and wanting to go to her bed. Shes been pulling the blanket over her face to cover her eyes from any light. Then she'll wake about 9ish for another small feed and sleeps till 3 or 4 then sleeps again till about 6ish then its more or less time to get up get my other daughter awake for school.

burtle4 · 15/03/2022 07:49

Happy birthday @2020mission, hope you have a lovely day! Hope Matthew is feeling a bit better and you can go for lunch.
Having gone from Dexter waking every 2 hours the night before, last night he did his first stint of 7 hours!! Couldn't believe it, put him to bed at 7.45pm and he didn't wake until 2.45am! Then woke up at 5.30 and 7.30, I'll take that 😅 I think he must have needed to catch up on all his restless sleep for the past few days due to jabs.

Theawkwardblonde · 15/03/2022 08:01

@2020mission happy birthday!

jadey1991 · 15/03/2022 08:34

Happy birthday @2020mission have a super day lovely.
@Curlymam88 no I haven't had them checked since I've had him: maybe it's low on iron or I'm just tired lol

@jadey1991 I thought they do routine bloods as part of your post natal check might be worth asking about them? I remember you had low iron in pregnancy? Maybe they're still a bit low.

LouLou0505 · 15/03/2022 09:54

Happy birthday @2020mission !! 🎉🎊🎁

Can't believe the babies are teething!! I didn't think it happened this quick!

Jack has been dribbling a lot and chewing his hands so I got him a matchstick monkey which he loves chewing 😂 doesn't look or feel like a tooth is coming through and he's not grumpy or got red cheeks so I'm not sure if this is just really early signs?

He's 3 months on Friday and will be having his second lot of jabs which I'm dreading. He did really well after his first lot I just surrounded him with lots of cuddles and let him sleep with me 😂 I'm so weak!

Our routine with Jack probably won't work for most people but for us it's great.

I feed him at around 5:30pm we play for an hour, I have a shower and put him in his chair in the bathroom which he loves, we then bath him at around 7pm and bottle at 7:30pm. He'll fall asleep and then wake up a little to finish his bottle at 8:30pm then he either goes right through to 5am or might wake up for a quick bum change and bottle at 3/4am then he'd go till 6.30am then the day starts.

It's working really well for us as my husband doesn't get home till later some days so if I put him to bed at 7pm he wouldn't get to see him.

I put Jack in his big boy part of the pram yesterday and he loved it 😩😍 I also got him a bumbo which he's enjoying!

@Curlymam88 to be honest hun I still
Haven't had my postnatal check. But I will sure get my iron levels checked again x

jadey1991 · 15/03/2022 14:44

@LouLou0505 jack looks adorable hun. He looks so cosy in his pram.. oh my does that chair work? I might need to invest in one for Josiah... where did you get it from x

LouLou0505 · 15/03/2022 14:47

@jadey1991 - thanks babe I'm biased as we all are but I just want to eat him up!!

It's just a bumbo and it has a tray too. I got it from Facebook market place for £5 😂 they are like £50 new and I thought I'm not wasting that if he doesn't like it.

Xx

jadey1991 · 15/03/2022 16:50

@LouLou0505 oh that's alright then isn't it.. I can't wait to start Josiah on solids. I think he is ready now. He always watches us eat and licks his lips and has his mouth open

Aww wee jack is lovely @LouLou0505 hope his second lot of jabs go ok!

Thanks for the birthday wishes ladies, Matthew wasn't too bad so managed to head out for 2 hours. It turns out he slept the whole time anyway 😅 he didn't even know I was gone! He's still felt a bit hotter than usual today but the temps I took were around 37.4 C so not a problem.

I haven't had a postnatal check either @jadey1991 as they didn't ask me anything when I went with Matthew. I think I'm going to just book myself a doctors appointment in a couple of weeks when my iron prescription runs out and get them to do the bloods. Thankfully everything else seems ok mostly although the trapped nerve I had in one thigh in pregnancy has never fully went away it's still a bit tingly at times and sensitive to hot water. Doesn't really bother me though but thought it would go when I gave birth! We finally DTD a week ago and it felt ok at the time (it was more for OH as I wasn't really in the mood 😅 ) but it hurt very slightly where the stitch was when I wiped after the loo just for the rest of that day so now I'm reluctant to go again 😂 hopefully that's normal!

jadey1991 · 16/03/2022 12:11

@2020mission so I'm not the only one then. I don't understand why I haven't been seen for post natal check up. Oh well.
Oh check your out. Doing the deed... I did the deed about 2 weeks ago... felt ok too but slightly uncomfortable... not in any rush to do it again 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

Teething has gotten us demented 🤦🏼‍♀️ little one is not happy. Very unsettled these last few days. On a positive note she's sleeping for about 6 hours (at least) now on a night.

@2020mission @jadey1991 I only had a telephone call for my 6 week check up, despite having an infected section scar. Wasn't beneficial really as we mainly discussed contraception, TTC etc. Should you usually have a face to face?

Curlymam88 · 16/03/2022 20:44

Any other mammas backs killing them from bending over and carrying their little ones around all day? Come this time of night my back is in bits.

jadey1991 · 17/03/2022 07:26

@Theawkwardblonde yes usually it is face to face but because of the pandemic it's mainly over the phone. I think know they ask your questions first to see if your need a face to face appointment.

Had awful night with Jesse
So had his first solids today at 12 weeks and 4 days
And he loved it

jadey1991 · 17/03/2022 17:26

@tashx oh wow did he really enjoy it at 3 months... I didn't think you could do that. I thought it was from 4 months...
how was Jesse with it?
How comes he didn't settle last night

OP posts:
tashx · 17/03/2022 18:13

@jadey1991
Yes he loved it and is so ready
Opened his mouth as soon as he saw the spoon
He has been very contented since
He's very hungry baby and milk alone just isn't enough anymore
Lots of people will say I'm wrong
But he is ready for solids

2020mission · 17/03/2022 18:31

@tashx which food did you start with? I was reading about weaning today. It doesn't say why it's 6 months that's recommended really... is it because their stomach can't handle the food yet or just that they aren't as good at swallowing and taking in the flavours and textures and/or able to pick up and put food in their mouths themselves yet due to lack of hand/eye coordination and understanding? Hard to tell what the reason is! Glad your LO enjoyed it though 👍 I am looking forward to it although I bet when the time comes and he's spitting stuff out I'll miss this stage of entirely milk 😅

tashx · 17/03/2022 19:04

@2020mission
I gave him some purée of apple and mango
If he spat it out I wouldn't of given him anymore
But he had his mouth open waiting
And this was after drinking a bottle of milk
I don't know the real reason why they say wait until six months
