Hi everyone, leola is 11weeks....is it possible for them to be teething so early?? I tried to take a photo while the poor girl was screaming to send on to my HV to ask her opinion. What do you think? I'm sure i can see white at the front to the right? Shes been dribbling alot lately too, and rosy cheeks! Poor girl Bear

Ohh that's early @Curlymam88! It's hard to tell if it's milk though 😅 i hope Matthew doesn't get any too soon or breastfeeding will be a danger! Does she seem in pain?

2020mission · 20/02/2022 16:06

Oh no @jadey1991 I'm worried now I was hoping us breastfeeding ladies would escape periods for a while!

Curlymam88 · 20/02/2022 16:46

@2020mission yep she was screaming in pain had to give her calpol

jadey1991 · 20/02/2022 18:30

Cant remember when my daughter started teething. Leolas currently enjoying rubbing her gums on a cold Teething toy.

jadey1991 · 20/02/2022 20:23

@Curlymam88 same I can't remember when my other girls started teething. If she is enjoying it then let her keep doing it. She may well be teething...

Interesting that you ladies are asking about teething..little one has been the same this last week. Dribbling loads and white gums. I put it down to thrush but my mum suggested she was teething 😳 rosy cheeks too!

burtle4 · 20/02/2022 23:07

I'm not sure if I read somewhere that it's common for babies of this age to be quite drooley because their saliva glands are developing, Dexter's very drooley anyway and my other two didn't teethe until around 8 months so I'm not expecting teeth any time soon!
@jadey1991 I can't believe you were talking about getting your period and then it happened 🤦‍♀️ it does seem soon! Hope it's an ok one x

jadey1991 · 21/02/2022 07:27

@burtle4 to be fair yesterday I had some bleeding in my pantry liner so I changed it to a pad. Now I wake up today and there's no fresh blood it looks like old blood. Sorry if tmi... don't know what's happening to be honest..

Curlymam88 · 21/02/2022 10:36

@Theawkwardblonde possibly then. Her cry yesterday was different to her usual one aswell as though she was in pain. My mother mentioned it too before I had mentioned anything to her.

2020mission · 21/02/2022 10:42

Sorry to change the subject but do any of you who are breastfeeding give your baby vitamin D supplements? A pregnancy app I have just popped up with a note about it and it’s the first time I’ve heard of this! It looks like it is mentioned on the NHS website too. Can’t believe no one has told me

jadey1991 · 21/02/2022 11:39

@2020mission no hun I'm not giving them.. never heard of it

Curlymam88 · 21/02/2022 12:21

@2020mission I was given a free sample in a pack on the maternity ward but I dont think they're necessary. No midwife mentioned anything to me either.

tashx · 21/02/2022 19:52

My HV told me to give Jesse vitamin D drops
But I haven't because he's on formula during the day and only breast at night

tashx · 21/02/2022 19:57

I had a period when Jesse was five weeks old
He is now 9 weeks and feel like another period not far away
Doctor said I must be really fertile
Not something I want to hear at 44 years old 😂

jadey1991 · 21/02/2022 20:25

@tashx aww bless you hun... at least your not going through menopause... my mum is going through is badly... you are blessed

Ladies need some advice.

My HV told me to put Jack on Aptamil Comfort, I am lactose intolerant and she said he could be so we did that. He doesn't poo for 5 days and when he does it's like hard and green, bless him he's really been struggling!!

The main reason we went on it was because of his wind but it's got even worse being on this comfort milk. He never screamed after a feed, he settles perfectly fine and was pooping every day or two so nothing major made us change other than her saying if I am, he could be!

I'm wondering if I should put him back to normal aptamil milk and get some colief drops to help break down the lactose?

I can't get hold of my HV 🙄 anyone experienced this?

jadey1991 · 22/02/2022 17:08

@LouLou0505 use infacol hun.. that's helps so much. Do it before every feed.. hopefully that help you hun... if HV says to put him on it then it should help him. See how he goes with the aptimel comfort. Infacol should break down his poo and help him slightly xx

OP posts:
LouLou0505 · 22/02/2022 17:22

@jadey1991 - thanks babe! I do have infacol which I used today which might be what pushed things along after a painful 4 days!

I think I'll give it another week on the comfort using infacol and if it happens again I'll have to get him onto something else. It was so horrible seeing him trying to get it out but he's perfectly fine all the time bless him!xx

jadey1991 · 22/02/2022 17:56

@LouLou0505 no problem sweetie.. I had the same problem with Josiah although he is breastfed and poo isn't solid. He poos every other day but in the day he actually goes toilet he is in discomfort all day long. I tend to give him infacol twice on the day and he goes...
I do hope jack will be ok on the infacol and aptemel... bless him xx

OP posts:
tashx · 22/02/2022 19:15

Jesse sometimes doesn't go for three days but because he's in breast at night and only formula during the day his poos are still soft
I often find gripe water makes they go
Or if things get really bad
Cooled boiled water works

jadey1991 · 22/02/2022 19:27

@tashx yes cooled boiled water helps a-lot too... x
