Not even thought about sex yet 😳😳 I'm still bleeding quite a bit too (nearly 3 weeks post section). Those who had a section - when did your bleeding ease off?

@tashx ditto induction being traumatic. I've vowed never to be put on that drip again if I ever have another one.

jadey1991 · 24/01/2022 17:24

@tashx loooool... yes I had stitches down below too as I had shoulder dysphasia birth and had a 3rd degree tear... although I feel like im healed, im so scared to have sex

@Theawkwardblonde yes same... oh your still bleeding. I stopped bleeding around 3. Weeks after giving birth... now I'm wondering when my monthly will start again.

I didn't have a section @Theawkwardblonde but I'm still bleeding at 4 weeks. It's super light now though, I'm getting away with just a panty liner twice a day. @jadey1991 I think we last DTD about a week before induction and it was an attempt to get things moving rather than for the fun 😂 it definitely wasn't easy when heavily pregnant.

jadey1991 · 24/01/2022 18:40

@2020mission lol I can imagine. It's funny coz the day I went into labour I actually said to my partner that we should have some to get things moving on. Obviously that didn't happen because my waters broke🤣🤣

@2020mission what a lovely photo. Love his big eyes! My iron is still low, but not as low as suring pregnancy. But they still prescribed me more iron. Lower wide of normal they said. They didn't give me exact numbers.
Regards to DTD we have and it feels better than when I was pregnant. Just feels better. Probably because there's no big bump getting in the way that probably makes a difference too. Probably be different for those of you who had vaginal births. Just take your time!
@Theawkwardblonde after my c section my bleeding has been really light throughout. It started and stopped for a bit but come 5/6 weeks it stopped completely. I think they say usually around 6 weeks it should stop.

Curlymam88 · 25/01/2022 07:56

Actually just feels different and better than even before pregnancy. Not sure why though

Also last night leola slept 8.30pm until 4am not sure if I should be happy or concerned she missed a feed 🤣

Theawkwardblonde · 26/01/2022 16:40

Hope everyone and the little ones are doing okay ☺️
I'm still a bit down. I now have an infection in my section incision which is causing quite a bit of pain. It's just adding to my upset around my section which is annoying! On some antibiotics to see if it shifts the infection. Quite concerned as the red infected area seems to have grown rapidly today though.
Little one is doing grand though and that's all that matters ☺️

tashx · 26/01/2022 18:48

I'm having a rubbish time too
@Theawkwardblonde
5 weeks of no sleep has taken its troll
Can't get baby to sleep in his crib
Lays on my chest all night and wants feeling still every two hours
Started to give Jesse two bottles a day
Just to give me a break
But
Today I'm in agony with blocked milk ducts
And
Feel like I got the flu
😢
So been on sofa all day feeding Jesse trying to unblock ducts
And
Using a hot water bottle

I really want to stop breastfeeding as he's taking it out of me but I've ended up like this with just two bottles
I don't know what to do now

2020mission · 26/01/2022 19:23

@tashx that sounds rough. I'm giving 2 bottles of formula every day (12 hours apart) too but because of low breast milk supply. I'm the opposite and don't get blocked milk ducts as there's not enough to build up to that although I do try to pump when my husband gives the bottle feed or I'll let him feed a little on me first so I guess I haven't had feed gaps for very long. I know he does get breast milk as I can see it around his mouth after most feeds, my other breast leaks a little when he's feeding and he sometimes spits it up soon after too. I can't express much at all though 😔 I wish I could would love to have more breast milk in the fridge for my husband to give me breaks and to avoid having to prepare the formula. I've had to co-sleep, I'd be the same and up all night if I didn't as he won't settle in the crib during the night. Sleeps in it fine during the day typically! It sounds like you'll have to stop breastfeeding really gradually when you do decide to stop if skipping 2 feeds was bad? Hopefully it will get easier!

@Theawkwardblonde aww sorry about the infection hopefully it will clear up soon. It's never easy is it! Glad baby is doing well at least 👍 thats always our priority.

burtle4 · 26/01/2022 19:51

Sorry to hear about those having it rough. I had a horrible day yesterday where Dexter just was awake most of the day and if he wasn't feeding he was crying. I've put it down to the 6 week growth spurt though as he slept for 3.5 hours in a row last night which is the most he's ever done, slept most of today and woke up this evening having completely mastered smiling and cooing 🥰 very cute and makes it all worthwhile! Not sure what tonight will bring though as I feel like all he's done today is sleep! Those whose babies are around the 4 or 5 week mark, I did find it really tough, they're going through a lot and he was very clingy and wingey, but it doesn't last forever, hang in there.
As for sex, aside from the fact that I'm still bleeding slightly over 6 weeks on (!) and we're not even sharing a bed, I just don't feel in the right headspace for it! If I'm not holding Dexter or feeding him, he's sleeping which means I either want to sleep too or catch up on everything that needs doing! Definitely feeling more like a mum than a wife at the moment...

@burtle4
Aww bless him
He is gorgeous 🥰

Yes Jesse 5 weeks and this week has been the worst since he was born

jadey1991 · 26/01/2022 21:46

@Theawkwardblonde aww hun sorry to hear you now have an infection. I do hope the antibiotics helps. I am doing ok, Josiah odd doing well. Glad baby is doing well your side x

OP posts:
jadey1991 · 26/01/2022 21:48

@tashx hun why don't you try co sleep with Jesse. Might help you. That's what I had to do with Josiah because the lack of sleep was doing me in. Carry on with the hot water bottle to massage the milk.

It's so lovely to see the babies! They are changing so much already it's crazy!

I took Jack out in his carrier today for the first time. He loved it but it did rub my belly a bit. My scar is pretty much healed now but the skin from my belly button to my scar is still very tender! Not sure if that's normal 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hey from Jack!

Hi everyone! Please could I join this thread? My little boy was born NYE and can't believe he's a month old on Friday it's absolutely flying by! Currently in the trenches of breastfeeding and sleepless nights. He sleeps lovely all day in his Moses but at night just wants to be on my boobs Grin he takes 1-2 bottles a day of breast milk or formula if I've not managed to express enough. Any advice on dealing with sickness when bottle feeding? We sit him upright for feeds and use MAM bottles like we did with DD but he just really struggles with the flow bless him and ends up vomiting a lot or appearing super gassy.

Also trying to deal with an infection in my section scar - nothing seems to work and feel like I've been on antibiotics forever!

jadey1991 · 27/01/2022 09:21

@zeromango hello and welcome.. congratulations on the birth of your son. He looks adorable.. however with the sickness after feeds there isn't much you can do as babies tend to be sick after feeds. However if it's really bad maybe you should speak with HV

Theawkwardblonde · 30/01/2022 21:53

@jadey1991 good thanks! How are you?

Nothing exciting to report from me. Infection is FINALLY starting to shift so feeling loads better.
I'm already planning for baby number 2 (mad I know). Obviously going to wait 6 months plus to heal. I'm conscious it took us ages to conceive little one so looking at starting again at end of this year. Be interested to hear from any of you with more than one on your age differences between kids! Husband isn't getting younger (currently 34, I'm 30) so he's panicking he's getting too old.
Hope you're all well and little ones are doing okay ☺️

tashx · 30/01/2022 22:49

@Theawkwardblonde

You both are young
I'm old at 44 😂
Age gap between babies

17 months , 3 years , 6 years ,
And 15 years

2020mission · 31/01/2022 08:39

@Theawkwardblonde we are not planning to wait too long either because it took us 16 months to conceive Matthew. I'm 34 in March so don't have time on my side. We'll probably wait until Matthew is a year old though. I'm hoping because we've done it once now it might not be as long next time? Unlikely though 😅

Curlymam88 · 31/01/2022 08:45

Hi @jadey1991 we've all had/got covid here. Im fine though wasn't anything bad and baby has been ok. My daughter is off school this week now though but she's not bad with it either. Leola is 8 weeks now and I think she's starting to go longer between feeds at night slowly.
How are you and baby doing?

Theawkwardblonde · 31/01/2022 11:24

@2020mission yes I forgot you were on the other thread with me for long time TTC. I'm terrified it'll take just as long (18 months). Plus I had low AMH so adamant I'm running out of eggs 😂 I wanted to wait till little one is 1 but thinking will start trying after 6 months. Don't know if I'm mad thinking I'll manage two under 2 🤦🏼‍♀️

@tashx I certainly don't feel young 😂 hospital called my husband a "geriatric parent" so think he's panicking a bit now!

@Curlymam88 hope you get over covid soon!
