@Theawkwardblonde can't comment on the section part of it hun but don't be alarmed I've got a pouch myself. Still looks like I'm 4 months pregnant and I had a flatish stomach before hand.
I'm sure it will go soon.

Hi everyone,
Sorry I've been completely absent since having Freddie- just trying to get into the swing of things! As a first time young mum I really underestimated how hard this would be😅 my little man is a month old today and I'm finally getting there now and feeling like I can come up for air a bit hahaha
I've just read back on a few messages but not very many, hope you and your babies are all doing well xxx

cutejeans · 21/01/2022 08:01

@Theawkwardblonde I still have my 'pouch' too, you don't sound vain at all I was gutted that I ended up with an emergency section and the typical overhang- I've cried a good few times about how my belly looks now! People keep telling me it will go down and one of my friends had a section 4 months ago and hers looks loads better already x

cutejeans · 21/01/2022 08:13

@Theawkwardblonde
Sorry I know your message was nearly a week ago now but I've just been scrolling back over what I've missed!! I could have written what you said myself as I felt exactly the same about my emergency section, feeling like I failed and couldn't understand why my body didn't progress etc.
Are you feeling any better? I'm still really struggling to come to terms with the fact I had one and I'm thinking of requesting a birth debrief at the hospital. I keep overanalysing how it happened and wondering if I could have done anything different to prevent the section so I'm thinking a debrief might help me to understand it better and stop these thoughts.

Has anyone had a birth debrief before and did it help at all??? X

jadey1991 · 21/01/2022 08:47

@cutejeans aww hun nice to hear from you. Glad you and Freddie are doing well. Me and Josiah are ok thanks. He is 5 weeks old now. Getting very big. Our sleeping pattern isn't so bad anymore so I happy with that. Still gotta sort out the timings of his bedtime

Theawkwardblonde · 21/01/2022 09:19

@jadey1991 thanks- that's reassuring to hear I'm not alone with the pouch. Didn't expect it to be perfect, but was surprised as I still look pregnant too 😂

@cutejeans lovely to hear from you. Hope you're well. I'm a FTM too so totally get how you're feeling. I had a debrief on birth in hospital, so I'm happy enough with that side. Tbf we had a say in when we got the EMCS as we were told we could try for another 4 hours on drip (taking us to 20hrs labour) or choose section now. We were advised due to the fact I hadn't dilated in 6 hours it was unlikely we would get further. I was hyper stimulated too by the drip so was having 5 plus contractions in ten minutes, all doubled up. Baby had gone sideways too, so we we were headed for a section anyway. I'm glad we didn't wait longer as I think things would have gone south very quickly. Baby's heart rate was already dropping at that stage.
I'm still sad, as I feel my body failed me. My waters went day before induction too but that still wasn't enough. My midwife and HV have been very good with supporting me though.

I wasn't prepared for the overhang!!! It's got me down too as thought when my weight went off it would go 🤦🏼‍♀️ hoping it's just swelling. Will report back at 4 months 😂

jadey1991 · 21/01/2022 09:24

@Theawkwardblonde and @cutejeans ladies believe me there is nothing wrong with the pouch... if you saw my pouch then you would be thinking differently. It will go soon. Especially if you train and do sit ups. It will tighten the skin more

LouLou0505 · 21/01/2022 09:46

@Theawkwardblonde @cutejeans - I was dead flat before baby too and I had my emergency c section I've noticed my tummy has bounced back pretty quick other than a little extra skin where my belly button stretched 😂 I also still have that line down my tummy!

I wouldn't say I have a pouch as such it's just like a little fold where my scar is. My friend had a section a year ago and she still has hers and says they last forever so I'm not sure how much they will go down 🤔

I've noticed my bum not as big as it was which makes me sad because that's all I had 😂 can't wait till I can go on nice long walks to build it up again!

Curlymam88 · 21/01/2022 15:19

I had my second c section 7 weeks ago. After my first c section my stomach went back to its usual size but took a while, this time round im 7 weeks post section and my stomach has gone down alot quicker. I just think its different for everyone, its still early days yet. Hope everyone is good Smile

2020mission · 22/01/2022 17:18

My stomach skin feels a bit loose still but does look flat again. I was really surprised it went back down within 2 weeks! But I didn't have a c section so will be different. I've got some faint stretch marks and my belly piercing area is red so I'm by no means looking exactly like I did before. I'm sure the c section 'pouch' will improve with time and just takes a little longer. I'm not too bothered that my stomach will never be the same again though, it's worth remembering how amazing our bodies are being able to grow life in there when you're feeling down about it.

Quick question for you all... is anyone's LO making moaning noises when breastfeeding or any feeding? Matthew has started doing it during most feeds in the last few days. He does continue sucking and doesn't come off or cry but it's unnerving to hear the moans. Hoping he's not in pain!

jadey1991 · 23/01/2022 00:23

@2020mission yes Josiah makes booze whilst breastfeeding. He also does some grunting noises too.

Everyone seems to be getting there stomach's back. Mine is going back to normal. Still look like I'm 4 months pregnant

Hi ladies how are you all doing with your babies? And how are you?

OP posts:
Curlymam88 · 24/01/2022 08:42

Hi @jadey1991 we are doing good thank you Smile Leola is growing too fast. I already miss the little baby I brought home from hospital already. Shes 8 weeks in Friday! But she's doing well. Not so sick now and I think 🤞 we are getting into some sort of a routine. We had our first outing yesterday was my neices first birthday party and all was going fine until leola peed up her pretty dress and all.up her back. I stupidly forgot a change of clothes but lesson learnt. I only live around the corner from the party so was able to pop home to grab some clothes.
How are you doing? How's baby now?

jadey1991 · 24/01/2022 10:29

@Curlymam88 hey hun, aww leola looks so adorable.. she is so alert isn't she!? She has lovely eyes. Aww hun I know exactly what you mean.. good thing you only live round the corner.... Josiah has peed himself so many times. I've never had a boy so it's all new to me. I've actually been peed on a couple times..... glad leola is doing well.. glad you got some kind of routine in place.
I'm doing ok thanks... still having sleepless nights.... his routine is up and down still at the moment.... last night he didn't settle for ages... we probs went sleep around 03:45am.... the night before was one of our best nights... we went sleep at 11pm, he woke up a couple times for a feed and nappy change then went back to sort and woke up at 9am... he is still slightly tending but not something we are worried about. It's actually getting better.... he is still sick after some feeds but still nothing to worry about as we were told it's normal. He has had a few cottage cheese type of sick but was told that infacol and breast milk tend to do that as he has reflux. We went harvester on Saturday(the whole family )as my auntie is in London from Australia.. that was a nice night she is going. Back on Thursday....

Sorry for my paragraph trying to get everything in at once.

OP posts:
Theawkwardblonde · 24/01/2022 10:41

@jadey1991 were doing okay thanks, glad to hear you're doing fine.
Little one is doing grabs on a night, feed about 12, sleep till 3/4, then up again at 7ish so we can't really complain. She's becoming a tad clingy and not wanting to be put down to sleep but we're persevering on a night.
I stupidly did too much the other day, tripped and pulled my section quite bad so I'm now back to walking slow and limping in pain 🤦🏼‍♀️. Lesson learnt to take it easier - I'm just so determined that get back to normal.

Did any of you have a 6 week check from gp following labour? I've been advised by HV to get one to get my section looked over, and to get the okay to go back to my pre pregnancy exercise routine (weight training/CrossFit). Although I anticipate it'll be a lot longer before I'm lifting anything heavy

Curlymam88 · 24/01/2022 11:20

@jadey1991 thank you! Yes shes very alert. I bought my neice a bing bunny balloon for her birthday but the baby took a fancy to it, always looking at it and smiling. I felt bad taking it away from her so had to buy her one 🤣
Omg he is absolutely gorgeous. Im glad he's doing well now. Health visitor was just here as Leola was sick.out of her nose and she mentioned maybe the doctor will give baby omeprazole at her next appointment. Her next appointment is in 2 weeks time and she'll be having her jabs the same time.
We have been the same as you until the weekend with our routine. Sometimes shes good through the night and sometimes she takes a while to settle but the weekend she was good so hopefully it's the start.
@Theawkwardblonde I had a 6 week check up with gp after my csection...it was done over the phone. Pretty rubbish really. All she asked was if I was ok and if I had any questions??? Absolutely rubbish. I did have bloods taken before hand and my iron is still low but with the 6 week check done over the phone no one checked my blood pressure or c section scar or anything. It may be different (better) hopefully where you are from.

Curlymam88 · 24/01/2022 11:38

@jadey1991 and im glad you had a nice time with your Auntie. I bet she was happy to see you and baby Smile

jadey1991 · 24/01/2022 12:08

@Theawkwardblonde glad all is well with baby. Oh no I do hope you get better soon. HV told me that I have to book my 6-8 week check up with gp... I need to do that this week. Thanks for reminding me....

jadey1991 · 24/01/2022 12:11

@Curlymam88 aww bless her. I have t found anything that Josiah likes yet... he is starting to smile and make noises now....thanks hun he has changed so much.... he looks like my hubby.... I remember Josiah was having sick coming from his nose but that medicine that you mentioned helped. Josiah isn't on that meds anymore.. I'm just giving him infacol...

@Curlymam88 sorry forgot to add, yes she was happy to see us...

Glad everyone is doing ok! Lovely photos @Curlymam88 @jadey1991 💕 Matthew is doing fine. HV is still watching his weight closely as he's gaining slowly and I think I mentioned before I have been having to top up with formula as I'm not producing enough milk... that or he isn't able to take much due to a bit of tongue tie.

My HV said she was going to book me in with the GP for my 6 week check which I found odd as surely she's not interested in me? Thought she was only ever watching out for the baby! I've still got 2 weeks to go until then but I seem to be healed. My episiotomy stitch is small and just inside the entrance so hasn't really hurt since the first week as going to the toilet doesn't touch it neither does sitting but I think I'll find out if it does hurt once we DTD again as nothing has been in to test it 😂 I expect they will do bloods with my check as I had the transfusions due to low iron. How low is yours @Curlymam88? Mines was 83 when discharged from hospital but was as low as 66 before the transfusions in hospital. Hopefully it's back up now 🤞

@2020mission aww Matthew looks so adorable. Glad his weight is getting there hun.. your 6/8 week check up is for you and Matthew.. they check everything is ok with as HV don't really check that and only deal with baby. I think I've healed well myself as I'm not in any pain.. I don't even know how many stitches I had.

Question to everyone. Has anyone had sex after giving birth? I'm so scared to have sex again. My hubby is traumatised too... 😔😔

OP posts:
2020mission · 24/01/2022 16:56

Not yet @jadey1991 I'm not sure if my husband will be up for it when I get the ok! Your birth sounded tough so not surprised your husband is. I think my husband did see all the blood loss as he said he had to wheel my little suitcase around it on the floor when I was taken to theatre and he was left with Matthew but I don't think he saw much else. He's not said either way how he feels about it yet. I read induction and episiotomy are both factors in postpartum haemorrhage so I was wondering if I could have avoided it all if I was left to labour naturally and not cut. You can't help think about the what ifs!

tashx · 24/01/2022 17:04

@jadey1991

Sex!! 😂🤭🤔
No Thankyou

I had stitches for the 1st time
And I'm scared to even feel down there
😂😂😂

And yes
@2020mission
I blame the induction for my traumatic birth

jadey1991 · 24/01/2022 17:23

@2020mission yes my birth was horrendous.. my husband is against sex right now. He was like maybe next year... 🤣🤣... I stopped having sex when I was 6 months pregnant... I've literally shut up shop 🤣🤣
