@jadey1991 it definitely helps if you can try and find a reason as to why they're behaving the way they are. I keep telling myself everything is just a phase!
Wow, so lovely when they finally sleep for a decent chunk of time! Dexter slept for 3 hours in a row last night for the second time ever and it made such a difference!

jadey1991 · 18/01/2022 11:22

@2020mission yes same here. Do you leave Matthew in his side? I've noticed Josiah prefers it on his side.

@burtle4 yes totally. I feel so much better now I can sleep for a while and also during the day(like today) I can actually sort the place out.

@jadey1991 yeah most of the time he is because that's how he's positioned for the feed. I've heard it's not ideal but he seems fine. I did wake up and roll him on to his back a couple of times last night. I think he likes staying on the side so he can latch again whenever he fancies a feed 😆

jadey1991 · 18/01/2022 15:27

@2020mission yes it's the same for me too. Josiah likes it on his side. And whilst I get him to sleep I pat his bottom and he loves it

How are people feeling mentally? I ask as I'm nearly 2 weeks on from the birth. Little one is doing fab however I'm still feeling very hormonal and emotional. I know my hormones are all over but was told I should be starting to feel a bit better after a week or so.
I got upset with my midwife today (going to miss them and all their help). Got my health visitor coming tomorrow too so not sure if I mention that I'm still very emotional. I'm so anxious all the time and can't seem to shift it. It's starting to get me a bit concerned as I do think I should be starting to pick up now 😞

LouLou0505 · 18/01/2022 19:09

@Theawkwardblonde - I think you might be like a few of us who had traumatic births who have struggled a bit. It took me a couple of weeks to feel better so give it time and let them know that's what they are there for babe! Xx

@Theawkwardblonde - I'm sorry to hear that 😔 I really do think what your feeling is normal it's only 2 weeks so be kind to yourself! I haven't told my husband how I felt in the first 2 weeks yet I have told my mum however and it did help. So I'd defo advise to talk about it and never feel like you can't tell a professional they are there to help!

jadey1991 · 18/01/2022 21:36

@Theawkwardblonde I was like this for about 3 weeks. I was constantly emotional, crying and it was over the smallest things. You will get over it hun. Like @LouLou0505 said I think it's because a few of us have had traumatic births so that plays a big part.

Good morning
Hope everyone well

I not had a baby for 15years
And
Feel like I'm starting all over again with
Jesse.

I need some advice
Jesse is 4 weeks
I stopped bleeding for about 3 days
And then yesterday
I had a big gush with a blood clot ( tmi)

Is this my period?
Or
Have I started bleeding again?
It's dark red and I'm in no pain

jadey1991 · 20/01/2022 08:27

@tashx good morning sweetie,
I'm not to sure if it is your period or just some old blood. Something similar happened to me. Tho I stopped for a day then bled again with some clots then stopped again and have t had any bleeding again.
Keep an eye on it and see how you go hun. Don't worry so much as like you said you haven't had any pain with it.
See how you go today and see if it subsides or contact your doctor/midwife/HV (if you still have them and not discharged) x
Hope you and Jesse are well x

@jadey1991
Thankyou so much

Jesse is getting a big boy now
No longer a tiny 5lb
Tho
Can't get an appointment to get him weighed because of covid so no idea how much he weighs now

Quick question to everyone...
Does anyone let baby sleep in bouncer?

OP posts:
tashx · 20/01/2022 09:28

@jadey1991
Don't be fooled
He is normally screaming 😂😂
We got discharged on Monday!
And
The health visitors are rubbish
I let Jesse sleep in a bouncer
If he sleeps that is

burtle4 · 20/01/2022 09:55

My bleeding has also been on and off, seems to slow down and then go bright red again with clots. Now I'm nearly 6 weeks post delivery it seems to finally be tailing off properly. I think it's quite normal for it to start and stop again so don't worry too much unless you get pain or a fever with it.
One way you can get a rough estimate as to how much baby weighs is how someone mentioned on here I think. Stand on scales without baby and then stand on them again with. Should give you a rough idea of how he's doing in between appointments.
@jadey1991 I've never been lucky enough for Dexter to fall asleep in his bouncer, he gets bored after about 5 minutes! But if he did fall asleep I would probably leave him for a bit so long as he was well supported and it was in a safe place.

jadey1991 · 20/01/2022 11:09

@tashx oh I see, yeah my health visitor is shit too. Thanks for letting me know, my health visitor says I shouldn't put him in bouncer nor should I let him sleep in there. I was saying to my hubby, that we use to do it with our daughters so what's different. They like to scare people.

@jadey1991 Matthew has definitely fell asleep and been left in the bouncer quite a few times. I did feel guilty when he was sleeping in it but sometimes you can't help it. We were always in the room with him at the time so he wasn't left alone. We try to use it mostly just for his activity time...
he'll usually just sit in it and look around for a while after a feed. Our HV only told us to make sure he's being watched when in it but didn't say anything about how long he could be in or whether to make sure he doesn't nap.

jadey1991 · 20/01/2022 16:31

@tashx that is so strange. My HV told me and hubby we are not allowed to have baby in bouncer because he is too small.
To be honest I've not listened to it anyway. I've never heard of anything like that.

How is Matthew doing? How r u feeling @2020mission

Hoping this isn't a sore topic but for those who have had a section, or previously had one, did you find it hard to get rid of any over hang over your incision?
Pre pregnancy I had a flat stomach, so wondering how easy it will be to get rid of the pouch? I'm almost at my pre pregnancy weight but still have a hell of a pouch! I hope this doesn't sound too vain - it's just it's uncomfortable with the extra skin! Not sure if I'm still just swollen from the surgery.

We've had little one in their baby bouncer..our HV said it's fine as long as it's not for too long 🤷🏼‍♀️
