@Curlymam88 aww that's so sweet. See that's the same question I wanted to ask. Because I would love to give him one every night but I heard you should only do it twice a week. But babies have been in water for the past 9/10 months so would it really hurt? I cream Josiah with coconut oil after every bath/wash.

Hey everyone!

I'm slightly more recovered...waters went naturally a day before I was due to be induced. Admitted into hospital date and popped on drip. Unfortunately my labour was progressing slowly, and after 14 hours I was only just at 4cm. Additional waters were broken twice during, despite waters going day before. Baby heart rate has dropped a few times, they had changed position (head down but body sideways) and my contractions were doubling and tripling up.
It was a tough decision but I went for an epidural, then a c section as pain/risk to me and little one was increasing. This was not what I wanted, and I found it hard to stay calm so had a few anxiety attacks throughout. I cannot praise the midwives and staff enough that I had as they really were fab. I had a debrief over my birth but I understand fully that a section was where it was heading, we just were allowed to make the decision to get one sooner rather than leaving it. We were given the option to wait a few more hours, but as I had dilated 0cm in 4 hours it seemed unlikely that I was progressing past 4cm.

Hope you are all well and your little ones are doing great!

jadey1991 · 09/01/2022 21:08

@Theawkwardblonde aww hun I'm sorry it didn't go to plan for you. Congratulations tho. ❤️❤️ I'm just glad you and baby are well. You must of been in a lot of pain and very tired during labour... how is baby doing? Any pics? What did you name baby?
I'm doing ok thanks. Very tired. Josiah has acid reflux so not getting much sleep.

Morning all 😊
@jadey1991 aw look at him in his carrier! Oscar would love that as he's in my arms alot while I'm trying to clean etc but he also has a good chunk sleeping in the day so that's when I crack on! hope your all good now!?
@curlymam I'm bathing in a routine so 3 kids 1 day and 2 the next....its like a conveyor belt bath system (1 in 1 out) haha so oscar is every other day but he screams so I do it during the day for him but our other children its before bed.
@theawkwardblonde I had a traumatic birth 7yrs ago now and I can't remember if I had a proper debrief....only the Dr who delivered him the few mins before explaining what happened and what had to be done but was very quick and brief. I was petrified of history repeating itself with every labour after....my advice is have whatever chats/meeting that you need and are offered now while available as they might be useful for you. Or like me use Google to research what happened and others experiences on it. you can also put a request in to the hospital for all your labour records x

jadey1991 · 11/01/2022 17:24

@lovebeingmum9 hello sweetie, yes Josiah is a heavy boy now. So hun in the carrier puts a lot of strain on my back lol. I'm doing well thnx how about yourself

OP posts:
lovebeingmum9 · 12/01/2022 09:28

@jadey1991 aw yeah I bet! my arms are aching too lol yes all good here thanks hun I had 0 hours sleep 1 day last week and was knackered so we have started keeping oscar awake in-between 6-9pm as much as possible and now he's done 2 nights in a row sleeping from 9-10pm until 2-3am has bottle then sleeps for another 2-3hrs until around 6-7am!Im Catching up on lost sleep and feeling better for it! How's josiah in the night time now and how are you finding everything X

burtle4 · 12/01/2022 14:55

That's good @lovebeingmum9, it definitely helps when you finally get a decent chunk of sleep. For the first time since he was born Dexter slept for 3.5 hours last night, followed by another 3, before this 2 was the most I ever got so I'm feeling far more refreshed today! He's also throwing out a few smiles at us now so it makes it all worthwhile when you see that ❤

jadey1991 · 12/01/2022 16:48

@lovebeingmum9 oh hun that's great at least you're getting into a routine. Josiah is sometime/ish when it comes to his sleeping. We can have nights where he will sleep from 7pm till 3am wake up for a feed and nappy change then back to sleep till 6ish.. but some nights he is awake all night because he cannot settle. So to be honest I'm finding everything a hit and miss. Who would of known this time round would be harder. I'm actually so exhausted I forget about my self at times.

lovebeingmum9 · 12/01/2022 18:49

Hi @burtle how are you and bubble doing? aw it makes all the difference getting those 3hrs or so sleep doesn't it! Sounds like your getting into a good little routine! The smiles are beautiful aren't they....I havnt been lucky enough to get a proper one on camera yet as he's too quick for me lol
@jadey1991 it's hard work isn't it.....I find its the not knowing if your going to get a good night's sleep or not! me and hubby are going to bed ourselves at 9pm or same time as oscar just to get maximum shut eye lol No late night movie nights for us for a while! 🤣

lovebeingmum9 · 12/01/2022 18:49

@burtle bubba not bubble haha

burtle4 · 12/01/2022 19:36

😂 maybe bubble should be his nickname! I actually managed to get a little video of him smiling and hiccuping the other day which was very cute!
We go to bed 9.30 latest at the moment, as soon as he's down after his last feed I'm straight into bed! @jadey1991 the waking once in the night nights must be bliss! But it's horrible when you expect it to happen and then they give you a night of no sleep, makes it even harder to get through

jadey1991 · 13/01/2022 11:28

@lovebeingmum9 me and my OH have been trying to sleep early but just doesn't work. So much to do once Josiah is sleeping.

OP posts:
lovebeingmum9 · 13/01/2022 11:28

Haha.....aw bless glad you caught it on camera 😊 Yeah we are the exact same....we wait for the last bottle and then we get upto bed to sleep 💤
can't believe some babies on here are a month old already....Oscar will be on Saturday! Gone soo quick but at same time it's like he's always been here x

Curlymam88 · 13/01/2022 13:13

The routines on here sound brilliant. Leola was so good and then the reflux kicked in. Finally been prescribed the gaviscon sachets which has helped alot with her sickness after feeds. I have my fingers crossed we will settle back into a good routine soon in that case.
Have to share this photo with you all, makes me laugh every time I give her a bath her little curly afro just pops up 😆 curlymam has a curlybaby 🤣 shes 6 weeks this Friday. Really hate how fast time is going now.
Hope everyone is well and all babies are doing well too Smile

jadey1991 · 13/01/2022 13:42

@burtle4 oh the waking up once has stopped now. He constantly wakes up. The doctors have changed his medicine to a higher dosage now and also given me gaviscon infant for Josiah.

OP posts:
jadey1991 · 13/01/2022 13:43

@Curlymam88 omg her hair is lovely.. she has loads of hair.. she looks so adorable. I'm glad the gaviscon is helping. Like I said in previous post doctors have given me some now so I will see how he goes.
Can't believe leola is 6 weeks. Time is flying by.

Aww @jadey1991 Josiah has put on some good weight! Matthew still hasn't got back to his birth weight at 2 weeks and 3 days old 🙁 I've had to add more formula along with breast feeding to try and help him gain weight he's only 6lbs 13oz right now. I'm feeling super guilty and like a bit of a failure with breast feeding. Health visitor thinks he might have a bit of tongue tie though so maybe that's why, he's likely not drinking enough!

@Theawkwardblonde hope your feeling better it's a real shame when the birth doesn't go to plan. I feel lucky my that my induction kicked things off quickly although if I'm honest I think my body was likely about to go into labour on its own so it probably wasn't the induction! I'd have been much happier with my birth experience if I didn't have the postpartum haemorrhage and retained placenta and 5 nights in hospital. I really think it's also negatively impacted on Matthew's breast feeding as I didn't get to do it until 5 hours after he was born and they also said the blood loss would likely slow down my milk production.

On other news... I went to change Matthew this morning after I heard some poo noises and I opened his baby grow to find NO nappy on him! My husband changed him through the night and forgot to put the nappy on him! 😂 I mean... how can you forget? I now feel like I'm on reusable nappies as I've had to hand wash a big load of 💩 from the clothes. It's one of his best baby grows (fleecy and zips) so I wasn't going to just bin it! Anyone else's husband made such an error? haha

jadey1991 · 13/01/2022 15:06

@2020mission aww hun don't feel guilty at all. It happens. I'm sure he will gain weight soon. I can defo tell you know your not a failure. Your doing the best you can. Matthew appreciates his mummy.
What did the health visitor say you can do if she suspects tongue tie?

jadey1991 · 13/01/2022 15:08

@2020mission hahaha 🤣 sorry I couldn't help but laugh at the ending of your post. I mean my OH hasn't done anything like that as of yet lol. I have to agree with you how can you forget lol. Matthew must of been soaked lol bless him... poor you having to clean up after your hubby x

Curlymam88 · 13/01/2022 15:28

@jadey1991 shes had that amount of hair since she was born. Everyone says they can't believe how long it is. I could probably put a small.bobble in it at the back 🤣 that gavison has worked but it can make them constipated apparently. Ah baby boy looks so adorable. Love his little tracksuit!
@2020mission ah my gosh!!! That made me laugh. 🤣

jadey1991 · 13/01/2022 16:52

@Curlymam88 really wow you must of had heartburn bad. Oh really is that what it does? I can't have that. Can I use gaviscon and infacol together?

OP posts:
jadey1991 · 13/01/2022 16:53

@Curlymam88 and thanks for the comment on tracksuit. Can you believe it was my eldest daughters lol🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

OP posts:
burtle4 · 13/01/2022 17:32

Gaviscon definitely does make their poo harder but in our case it's actually helped, before we started using it he was doing explosive runny poos in every nappy. Now he only poos 2 or three times a day and they're a bit more solid. I only give him one sachet three times a day though x
