@Curlymam88 - oh bless you!! Glad you are back to eating though!

Oh our hospital was the same 🤦🏻‍♀️ because I was induced I was in hospital for 5 days and the only thing I'd eat from them was toast and mine would look the same! I can't stomach toast now! We did have an M&S in the hospital so we'd get food from there instead but I now cannot touch anything I ate while in hospital 😂

jadey1991 · 07/01/2022 22:18

@Curlymam88 loooooooool yes the hospital isn't nice at all. I've lost a little bit of my appetite.
Also yes Josiah has slept for a free hours without tending himself. #happy.... I think that medicine of working. I also did the Cycle motion and massaged his belly... fingers crossed for a good nights sleep.

How's everyone baby doing?

It's not much to look at granted but I actually really enjoyed the hospital food a bit too much lol I had porridge and tea/biscuits at breakfast, roast chicken dinner with sticky toffee pudding for lunch and then sandwiches and ice-cream for dinner for 2 days lol 🤣
@jadey1991 aw lovely weight! Glad josiah is doing much better and you got discharged x I will see healthcare visitor next on 1st of Feb but I weighed oscar on our scales at home yesterday and he weighed 11lb.....not surprised drinking as much and as often as he is x

@lovebeingmum9 thanks hun. I think we are going in the right direction tonight. Hopefully he sleeps all the way through other then waking up for a feed and nappy change. Fingers crossed.
Aww he does have a lovely weight. Yeah I'm the same I'm not surprised Josiah weighs that much. He is constantly feeding. My breast feel like they are empty.. that hospital food looks nice. Better then my hospital. I didn't take pics lol. 🤦🏽‍♀️..

So has anyone heard from the akwardblonde? She was the last in the group to have her baby - if you read this I hope you’re doing ok. 💙👶🏽💙

jadey1991 · 08/01/2022 03:33

@JW2021 no hun haven't heard from her. I do hope she is ok.

@jadey1991 how often does Josiah normally wake during the night? I can't imagine Dexter sleeping through for months yet, he's still every 1.5 hours, but I think that's mainly because of his wind issues.
@Theawkwardblonde hope you're doing ok?

Theawkwardblonde · 08/01/2022 07:57

Hello everyone. Very late in posting but our little one arrived on the 6th, a girl. It was a very long and traumatic birth of I'm being honest that ended in an emergency c section. Will post more details soon but currently running on 3 hours sleep since Monday night.

Hope your all well! ☺️

lovebeingmum9 · 08/01/2022 08:23

congratulations @Theakwardblonde ❤ sorry to hear it was a traumatic labour but so pleased baby is here safe and well! Hope your recovery is good x
@jadey super greedy boys lol I wouldn't have no boots left if I had breastfed mine 🤣 the hospital food pics are from messenger because everytime my hubby messaged my food came haha!
🎉🎉Everyone has had their babies 🎉🎉

LouLou0505 · 08/01/2022 08:44

@Theawkwardblonde - congratulations! Sorry it was awful 😔 rest up!!

Question for all - has anyone ever had the debrief meeting after birth with the doctors? Because my birth was so traumatic my midwife has advised me and my husband to request it to find out exactly what happened etc.

2020mission · 08/01/2022 09:12

@Theawkwardblonde aww so glad to hear she's arrived! 😃 take care of yourself too

burtle4 · 08/01/2022 09:12

@Theawkwardblonde congratulations! Sorry to hear the birth didn't go very well but lovely to hear that your girl has arrived safely. Can't believe we've all had our babies now when you think where this thread started!
@LouLou0505 I haven't had one with the doctor, but when I was pregnant with my second I mentioned to the midwife that I was worried about the birth because of what happened in my first labour (hours of pushing which ended in venteus delivery) I felt like I wasn't able to push effectively enough and it would happen again so she arranged another appointment after she had read my notes from my previous birth and talked me through what happened. It was such a big help as she explained that he had got stuck due to his chin pointing up and lodging against my pelvis. She said there's nothing I could have done differently to push him out which I never realised and made me feel so much better. As it turns out, I pushed my second out in 20 minutes! I think if you have any concerns over the birth and are thinking of going through it again at any point it's definitely worth it x

LouLou0505 · 08/01/2022 09:17

@burtle4 - that's great you had that conversation as it sounds like you had a rough time from your previous posts 😩

The more I reflect the more I'm adamant I don't want another because I'm truly terrified it'll happen again.

Although I know if I changed my mind it wouldn't be for a fair few years 😅

I didn't even know it was a thing that you could have the debrief but sounds like a good idea for me x

JW2021 · 08/01/2022 15:11

Wonderful news awkward blonde now baby has arrived hope you get a bunch of help and a good long rest when was baby actually due anyway- have you picked out a name yet can’t wait to hear all your news when time allows sending love from the USA!

jadey1991 · 08/01/2022 16:38

@burtle4 oh hun last night was the only night I managed to get any sleep. I was able to sleep 4hours. Usually Josiah doesn't sleep at night. He is usually awake all night and will night on and off in the daytime for a couple hours here and there

@LouLou0505 I was only told by a doctor exactly what happened during my birth. However she told me there is some counselling that we can go too. At the moment me and partner have been speaking about it and don't think we need the counselling but we will see.

I think I need to get Josiah on bottles because breastfeeding is tiring me out.

burtle4 · 09/01/2022 01:14

@jadey1991 4 hours is a good chunk of time for sleep - didn't think I would be dreaming of four hours sleep as it's still so little but I'll take anything over 2 these days! So hard when they won't let you put them down though, Dexter seems a little more settled after being put on gaviscon at the doctors but it's still early days so watch this space....

jadey1991 · 09/01/2022 08:08

@burtle4 aww bless you hun, fingers crossed you start seeing a difference. Surprisingly I had a good night last night. We have Josiah a nice bath last night and I'm so sure it helped.

OP posts:
Curlymam88 · 09/01/2022 12:06

@burtle4 I asked for the gaviscon sachets for Leola but my health visitor said they don't tend to give them out as they cause constipation. The reflux milk doesn't seem to be working for her so I'm hoping they'll prescribe her something when I phone tomorrow.
@jadey1991 Leola loves a bath and loves my daughter washing her hair for her. She falls asleep.in the bath. I find it definitely relaxes her but im too cautious to give her a bath every night incase it dries her skin? How often does everyone give their little one a bath?

burtle4 · 09/01/2022 12:25

@Curlymam88 we only give him a bath once a week at the moment because his skin was really dry and were told it would make it worse. Plus he really isn't a fan!
The gaviscon seems to be doing the job at the moment, he seems much more settled and has just had over an hour of awake time perfectly happy with no grunting or groaning or pain. He even threw out a few smiles! We're only giving him one sachet 3 times a day and it's definitely hardened his poo but previously they were really frequent, in every nappy and pretty runny and explosive so I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing 😂 he's still going a few times a day at the moment x
