Hand hold: have a 9 week scan tomorrow after 5 early pregnancy losses

I can't sleep. We saw a heartbeat at 6.5 weeks after some bleeding, so I'm trying to tell myself there'll be one tomorrow but I'm so nervous there won't be. I've still got symptoms, a ridiculous bump for 9 weeks and I haven't had any red bleeding for over 2 weeks so I have no reason to believe anything will be wrong other than it's never been alright.

So nervous.

All sounds very bright and positive to me! Naturally you will be anxious particularly as you've suffered 5 sad losses but everything you've just outlined sounds all good! Try and get some sleep, otherwise you'll just work yourself up more. DaffodilDaffodil

@ChristmasSchmismas thank you, I just needed someone else to tell me it all sounds OK. Daffodil

Fingers crossed for you! I'm on my third loss in a row and hope you're the success story I can look forward to.

SE13Mummy · 21/12/2021 01:11

Of course you're nervous as your experience so far has given you good reason to feel that way. Seeing a heartbeat at 6.5 weeks must have been so exciting for you and hopefully today's scan will give you the reassurance you need.

My last pregnancy was after three consecutive losses including a ruptured ectopic that nearly killed me. I spent the entire nine months unable to feel sure everything would be OK in spite of the evidence. That DC is now 12 years old.

Grumpysister · 21/12/2021 01:16

I don’t have any experience of this but awake and able to give a handhold at what is understandably an anxious time for you. Having seen a heartbeat is such a good sign. All the very best for tomorrow Flowers

Flowergirl89 · 21/12/2021 01:19

Wishing you only the best for tomorrow xx

NovemberNovemberDarkNights · 21/12/2021 01:21

I'm not surprised you're nervous - but it currently all sounds as if things are ok!

Let us know how you get in, I'll be thinking if you!

reenya · 21/12/2021 01:23

Hopefully these are positive signs! Sending you lots of good luck

rainbowsandmagpies · 21/12/2021 05:15

Thanks all. Tried putting my phone down to get some sleep - have done some very disjointed dozing. Annoyingly DH seems to be having the best sleep of his life Grin

Fingers crossed for you @rainbowsandmagpies, it's so hard isn't it. I've just done a HPT at 5dp5dt on our tenth round of ivf and got a BFP. DH is snoring away but I can't sleep. We have 2 children already but have had many losses and IVF failures along the way.

YessicaHaircut · 21/12/2021 05:50

Will be thinking of you today OP and sending positive wishes! I totally understand the nerves before your scan, I had 2 consecutive losses before DS was born (and one since) and I don’t think I relaxed for the entire pregnancy. It’s so hard but you’ve seen a heartbeat so hopefully all will be fine 🤞💐

mrssunshinexxx · 21/12/2021 06:02

Thinking oh you , will check back later for your good news. ❤️

LadyEloise1 · 21/12/2021 06:09

Wishing you the very best. 🤞🙏💐

fruitypancake · 21/12/2021 06:16

Hope you managed some sleep OP, good luck today x

TashieWoo · 21/12/2021 07:00

Best wishes for your scan @rainbowsandmagpies - all sounds positive so far! Flowers

Glorieta · 21/12/2021 07:03

fingers crossed for you too

3 losses here (one mmc at 12 weeks and 2 anothers at 9 weeks)

wide awake as currently sharing my bed with dc5 who had a bad dream about a hoover and is snoring loudly and hogging DH side of the bed (DH finally admitted defeat and slunk off to DC bed)

glowingtwig · 21/12/2021 08:11

I'm 21 weeks now after 3 early losses in a row and the day before each of those early scans was absolutely dreadful, I know exactly how you are feeling. Tell the sonographer how anxious you are and take deep breaths. A heartbeat at your previous scan makes it so much more likely to be ok as do your symptoms.
Sending a huge hand hold and hug xx

FabricPigeon · 21/12/2021 08:29

Good luck! Keeping everything crossed for you Thanks

rainbowsandmagpies · 21/12/2021 08:44

Thanks everyone. We've arrived at the hospital a little early, so an anxious waiting room session for us. At least nerves are good for the pregnancy constipation (tmi?)

I’ve been where you are, here with a hand hold xx

itssquidstella · 21/12/2021 08:47

I'm currently 18+2 after three first trimester losses, so I know how you're feeling right now. Keeping everything crossed for a good outcome!

Tallulahh3 · 21/12/2021 08:57

All sounds good so wishing you all the best! Virtual hand holds all round x

strawberrysummer19 · 21/12/2021 09:39

@rainbowsandmagpies wishing you all the most positive vibes. I am also 9 weeks today and have a scan tonight.

Like others have said all sounds very positive!

Pearldrops04 · 21/12/2021 09:46

Really hope everything's okay OP. There are so many positives that you've listed, I'm praying that it is
