@StayWeird I'm glad you've spoken with them. Hope the nurse comes back to you soon 🤞

Hi all, is there a private Facebook group up yet? I had an early scan yesterday due to bleeding and saw the heartbeat and everything 😊 measuring a day behind at 6+1 yesterday.

How do you ladies cope with the anxiety of it all?

Spottybutterfly · 07/01/2022 13:50

Just a quick question
Is anyone else feeling really sick.. 8 weeks at weekend ?

3rdBabyDue · 07/01/2022 15:31

Yep this is me haha x

madeleine85 · 07/01/2022 15:55

@3rdBabyDue weeks 7-9 are usually the worst for most Mums so fingers crossed you’re reaching the other side of it x

LuckyWithMyLot · 07/01/2022 17:32

7 +1 today and just got a positive PCR. Ughhhh.
Thankfully I'm feeling okay but I was running a slight fever so took a paracetamol.

I'm not feeling any symptoms yet so I'm quite concerned as I had morning sickness with my DS at this stage.
I'm thinking I'm going to book a reassurance scan once I'm out of isolation. Feeling quite jealous of all you ladies with morning sickness!!

Hope your the same.

I am a little concerned with the pregnancy but thinking we are early all will be grand.

Yes, I've been terribly sick the last week with terrible nausea and vomiting. Got prescribed Cariban today by my GP and it seems to be working at taking the edge off. I've managed to keep food down today which is nice.

Yes, I'm lying here coughing and gagging while I try and sleep. "Morning" sickness my arse!
LuckyWithMyLot · 08/01/2022 00:08

@mamafifi oh no, sorry to hear you too. I felt really awful yesterday but almost back to normal today.
The text I got from the government told me to call my GP or midwife and, as I don't have a midwife yet, I called the GP. She seemed very confused as to why I was calling! She basically said the real risk from COVID is in the 3rd trimester when you have less lung space and to rest, take in fluids and keep any temperatures at bay with paracetamol.

TeacherofMFL · 08/01/2022 09:17

Hi all! I'm very late to this party but due mid August- currently 9 weeks + 2.

I've been so sick for the last 3 weeks now, vomiting all morning and sometimes evening and not keeping much down. Have had to tell work as it's so bad.

Haven't got my booking appointment date through yet. Called the hospital yesterday and they said they'd be in touch next week.

Dontsaykwen · 08/01/2022 09:28

@CoalCraft my partner was laughing at me in bed last night because I started describing the amazing baked potatoes I’m going to make for tea tonight. Not quite a craving but I saw some on Instagram and immediately decided that’s tomorrow’s tea and was so excited about having them 😂

Dontsaykwen · 08/01/2022 09:41

@StayWeird hope you’re feeling better and call from hospital was reassuring. How’s the back pain today?

Hey @TeacherofMFL sorry you’re struggling with the morning sickness someone on the thread mention worse at 7-9 week so fingers crossed starts settling soon.
Scan timelines seem so different across the country. I’ll have my first appt at 9 weeks you’ll get your appt date at 10 weeks and sounds like some have had first appt around 7-8 weeks.

firsttimemumca · 08/01/2022 13:55

how's everyone doing? hope okay..

sorry to all those who've been pretty sick! hope it all calms down for you soon.

we had our early scan today, and booking app with midwife yesterday. midwife estimated 8+5, scan confirmed i'm actually 7+5 but all appears to be healthy. feel so much better after scan, i'd convinced myself i was having like a phantom pregnancy and just getting myself at it!

hope you all have a good day 😊

Ahh so glad your scan went well! That must be a big relief!

I have mine tomorrow - stressing about it but I need it to happen to know it's not all in my head and that everything is okay :)

Beth262 · 08/01/2022 14:28

Ahh that's lovely news @firsttimemumca 😊 hopefully it feels more real for you now!

@surprised12 How's the sickness today? No more tears I hope x

firsttimemumca · 08/01/2022 15:31

@surprised12 thank you! hope all goes well with yours. i know exactly what you mean, i was convinced that i wasn't actually pregnant!

No more tears! Phew!

Sickness seems to have been replaced by tiredness. My husband had the football on and I've slept through the whole thing this afternoon.

I think it's more on an evening the sickness is creeping in.

LMc1 · 08/01/2022 20:02

Hey all, I’m wondering how everyone is feeling mentally at the moment and if what I’m feeling is normal. After four weeks of feeling quite numb or anxious, we had an early scan and are relieved all is ok (so far). I calculated 8 weeks and measurements are 8 + 4. I can’t help but feel so sad though, lots of guilt too as I have lots of people around me TTC or have had miscarriages. In one sense I feel so lucky to be in our position and very quickly at that. Other times I feel maybe if it had taken longer I would appreciate this moment in time instead of feeling numb or overwhelmed?
I hate saying it out loud. I know so many are desperate and to think this baby is part me and my husband is amazing but I still can’t feel excited or as happy as I thought I’d be.
I’m feeling nauseous constantly and when I’m not I’m anxious I’ve lost the baby. I’ve read through lots of posts and know I’m not alone in that.
I guess I just would like to know do these negative feelings pass? I can’t wait for the time where I’m excited and happy and can’t wait to tell everyone. A few people know and I’ve had the worst sick feeling in my stomach telling them, like I’m being a fraud? Putting on a smile and saying how happy I am when deep down I’m not (yet).
I worry I’m ruining the happiness of this for my husband too. X

dream109 · 08/01/2022 20:22

@LMc1 you're not alone. I feel the same. On one hand, I'm so grateful to have conceived. However, we have an almost 2 year old and we've struggled as parents more than we realised (I'm an older mum and the exhaustion is overwhelming) so we hadn't decided whether we definitely wanted a second. We're also in a tiny flat waiting to move. I know that it will all work out in the end and I don't want to seem ungrateful, but I'm finding it hard to get excited with all the worry.

LMc1 · 08/01/2022 20:41

@dream109 I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling the same. I can’t imagine feeling this way and having a toddler too, I hope you’re getting as much rest as possible. We’re waiting to move house too, that could also be contributing as it’s a whole new life situation on top of being pregnant. I hope we both feel excited soon, maybe once the exhaustion subsides and more settled in our new homes. X
