Hello,

Just found out we are pregnant after 13 months of trying - based on last period will be due august 19th.

Any others with similar time like to join to support one another?

@NetflixAndSauvignonBlanc I'm under consultant care in my EPU because of previous losess which is why I'm having early scans. Which I am glad of because my health board is currently averaging week 15 for 12 week scans Confused

SantiagoSister · 05/01/2022 12:33

Thank you so much for your well wishes @Lilipa, so kind of you. Wishing you the best of luck going forward ❤️

@NetflixAndSauvignonBlanc I’m waiting until my 12 week scan too. Last time I found early scans only reassured me for a day or two then I was back worrying, so figured I may as well wait this time. Hoping for everything to be ok at my first scan on the 26th. I’ve got my booking appointment next week when I’ll be nearly 10 weeks.

@sho22 I am 9 weeks today and still have zero symptoms too. Totally understand your worries about MMC, I worry about it every single day having no symptoms to reassure me. Have a google of the ‘Hook Effect’ on pregnancy tests, hopefully that may help to ease your worries about your lighter test.

Sorry for being a bit quiet - it's been a hectic few days. 7 weeks today.

First of all, I'm sorry to those that have had losses. I wish all of you a speedy recovery and hope that you are able to have your babies soon.

Still doing okay over here - intermittent sore boobs and occasional bouts of nausea but nothing too severe. Still getting tiny bits of spotting, literally just one or two spots every couple of days, which tbh is a lot less than with DD, so not too worried. It's always accompanied by a lot of discharge too (sorry, I know, gross), which makes me think it might be coming from my cervix rather than my actual womb.

Will just have to wait and see. Have my booking in appointment on the 18th (actually in person 😱 ) which feels like the next milestone even if it won't actually tell me anything about the baby's health.

firsttimemumca · 05/01/2022 14:08

has anyone heard from their midwife yet?

we sent the referral through on Christmas Day and have just had the call..

It all seems one step to closer to being real, even though we haven't had a scan yet! x

dream109 · 05/01/2022 14:15

@NetflixAndSauvignonBlanc I've got my booking in appointment on Tuesday, which will make me 9+3, which I thought was quite late. They won't request a scan until then either. Hoping I don't have to wait longer than 12 weeks.

Glago2017 · 05/01/2022 14:49

@NetflixAndSauvignonBlanc I plan on waiting for my NHS scan.
I have my booking in appointment (in person 😁) on the 19th which will make me roughly 9+2 and got my scan on the 9th Feb when I'll b 12+2. X

PopGoesBang · 05/01/2022 14:53

I have a blood test with the midwife tomorrow 9+2 (ish, the early scan put me a couple of days behind, but the lady doing the scan said to take the dates from the 12 week scan)
And then had a phone call to book the booking phone call next week. So that is happening on Wednesday so I'll be around 10 weeks. Nothing about the 12 week scan yet, although when I spoke to the midwife last week she said she was requesting it. Guess I can check about that tomorrow

CoalCraft · 05/01/2022 14:55

@NetflixAndSauvignonBlanc

If it hadn't been for the bleeding I'd have waited for the 12 week scan. I don't currently plan on having any private scans x

RP90 · 05/01/2022 15:18

We waited for the 12 week scan the first time round. This time we have an early one booked for Saturday as we're away with family and they'll click on with me not drinking. This pregnancy was a bit of a shock so I feel I need some sort of confirmation before telling them too.

It's unbelievable how slowly time goes the first few weeks isn't it?! And that was with the crazy Christmas period to keep us going ha!

I have my booking appointment next week and then will hear about my 12 week scan then I think.

Pearldrops04 · 05/01/2022 16:15

I self-referred to my local hospital yesterday by filling in the online form and then ringing them, the lady said a midwife would be phoning me back within the next 3 days. I fell asleep on the sofa on my lunchbreak yesterday Blush and then woke up to a missed call from the midwife....helpfully, she mumbled her name which was inaudible and then asked me to call her back, forgetting she was calling me from a withheld no Grin

Thought she might've tried again today but haven't had a phone call, will leave it til tomorrow lunchtime and then will have to phone the hospital again I guess as I've no way of ringing her back.

firsttimemumca · 05/01/2022 16:48

@Pearldrops04

firsttimemumca · 05/01/2022 16:50

@Pearldrops04 - sorry the last one posted too quickly!

oh no that's frustrating! you thought she would have left her number 🤷‍♀️

hope you manage to get through to them x

Isonthecase · 05/01/2022 18:49

Just had my booking in appointment through! Strangely the due date they gave is different to the NHS calculator, guess we'll see in a few weeks...

Cakecakecheese · 05/01/2022 19:13

@sho22 a pregnancy test may have faded by now due to hook affect so it's not necessarily a sign of anything bad.

Dontsaykwen · 06/01/2022 14:03

I booked one early scan at 7 weeks this Saturday but won’t book in lots of private scans. Just want to make sure not ectopic really

Beth262 · 06/01/2022 14:32

@Pearldrops04 Did you manage to get through to the hospital again and pin down that incoherent midwife?!

pearldrops04 · 06/01/2022 15:01

@Beth262, No, I meant to ring up again earlier but have just been so flat out at work, haven't had time. Haven't even managed to have lunch yet, lol. Will try again in a bit!

Hope everyone's doing okay, I've had period like cramping again today, it had eased off over the last 4-5 days but is back! Always a bit unnerving and makes me anxious about going to the toilet/ knickerchecking!

PopGoesBang · 06/01/2022 15:06

Just back from my bloods with the midwife and the carbon monoxide test. All went well. I now also have my Maternity Passport and also access to the app used here for appointments etc.
12 Week scan booked for 28th Jan. which still seems so far away, is actually only 3 weeks.

The sickness and nausea is still on going. I have bouts of actual sickness and then waves of nausea.
The dry heaving is slightly hard to deal with when answering calls for work - ever glad I'm WFH.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

CoalCraft · 06/01/2022 15:21

Anyone else have an absolutely insane appetite?? I am constantly fantasising about food and honestly it's distracting. I'm always a pretty hungry person but it's off the charts ATM and all I can think about is starchy, fatty, salty goodness.

Isonthecase · 06/01/2022 15:43

@CoalCraft I just really fancy a Chinese takeaway! Don't even like chinese food that much normally Blush

Beth262 · 06/01/2022 15:44

@Pearldrops04 still no lunch by 3? I'd be dying...

@CoalCraft Me! Feel like I'm constantly hungry this time around. Even an hour after demolishing a meal I'm ready to go again 🙈

Beth262 · 06/01/2022 15:47

Oooh @Isonthecase Now you've got me thinking about chicken fried rice 🤤

Isonthecase · 06/01/2022 15:56

@Beth262 I just want those chicken nuggety balls with the bright red sauce and egg fried rice. Nuggets alone for lunch were NOT the same Sad

Beth262 · 06/01/2022 16:03

@Isonthecase Stop! You're making me even more hungry! 😆

pearldrops04 · 06/01/2022 16:32

Yay, got through to a midwife, I've got my booking in appointment on the 26th, she said they're so busy there aren't any slots before that.

I forgot to ask, does anyone know if partners/ husbands have to be present at the first appointment? It's going to be face to face at my drs surgery apparently.
