Hello,

Just found out we are pregnant after 13 months of trying - based on last period will be due august 19th.

Any others with similar time like to join to support one another?

I think a certain level of stretching and cramping is pretty normal at this stage, I had the same last time and was worried then too. Unfortunately pregnancy symptoms and period symptoms or miscarriage symptoms are pretty similar in the early days.

Sorry to hear about your losses 😔 one loss is too many.

I just had another call - yes to the 5mg of folic acid and no to the pessaries because ‘the study results haven’t filtered into general practice yet’ and I’ve had one loss, not multiple. Frustrating but will just crack on, keep my fingers crossed and count down to my scan next Fri.

I’ve heard that’s the suggested way of administering it! My sister had to do it 🙈 Worked though and I have another gorgeous little niece! 😍

Beth262 · 04/01/2022 17:04

Thank you. Sorry to hear about your loss too. Its good news about the folic acid but a shame they won't try progesterone. Just take it one day at a time. Each one is closer to next Friday and further along than last time. Everything crossed for you x

roughmeasures · 04/01/2022 17:28

@netflixandnochill

Thanks *@Beth262* I’ve never got to this point of pregnancy before. The fragility of it all so far is really taking its toll. I’m back in the office today too which isn’t helping.

Just had a call back from the doc and going to discuss a higher dose of folic acid and perhaps the pessary. Does anyone on the thread have experience of either?

I've just today been prescribed Progesterone pessaries! After bleeding over the weekend an early scan shows I've got a large blood clot (and a heart shaped uterus! ) so have been given these to try to reduce the clot.

Hope everyone is doing well! The first trimester seems to be dragging for me, I don't have a scan until a week on Friday, so going a little crazy with the waiting/not knowing if this thing is growing/doing ok (currently somewhere between weeks 5-6). My cousin announced today she is having twins, which while I am very happy for her, I am also at the point of I dont know if this is progressing or not, so it was hard to take at first. My sickness still hasn't kicked in, and with my DD I feel like it was here right about now, so I am worried about my sore boobs being my only side effect. I keep poking them, and likely making them sore and creating my own side effect, sigh.

Anyway, @roughmeasures that is really good news! Glad you have found out what is going on and you are getting the right care, fingers crossed it is all resolved. @netflixandnochill also glad you got the prescription! Hope you are both feeling a bit better now x

Littlebutload · 04/01/2022 18:01

@surprised12 Very similar! I didn't have much nausea last time which ended in a MC, so like you I'm glad, I feel like it's a good sign but its starting to kill me. I've made an appt for Friday to see if my GP will prescribe something for it. I had hyperemisis with my first pregnancy so I should be used to this but it's still awful.

netflixandnochill · 04/01/2022 18:53

Thank you @Beth262 💛

Good luck with the pessaries @roughmeasures! I hope they help and give you some reassurance.

@madeleine85 We are both name (also a Madeleine) and early scan date twins. Hope the time flies by ahead of the 14th and all goes well for us.

Hope you feel better soon @Littlebutload and hope everyone else is feeling well!

madeleine85 · 04/01/2022 19:31

@netflixandnochill so glad I have a scan buddy!! Hope yours goes well and that time flies to get us to that date :)

StayWeird · 04/01/2022 20:06

@madeleine85 and @Dontsaykwen I'm 6+5 and had no sickness either. It's reassuring reading that others are the same. I had horrendous morning sickness with my daughter but don't really remember having any with my son. I'm almost wishing for it to start as I'm driving myself mad worrying that I don't have enough symptoms.

I've got a scan booked on 15th January, seems an age away.

Yebbie · 04/01/2022 20:49

Hi all - 7+2 here and my nausea and sickness only kicked in yesterday. It's in full swing now. I'd been worrying not having it but it's so early, the hormones need to get quite high to make you unwell Smile

Pearldrops04 · 04/01/2022 21:33

I thought I really wanted morning sickness etc, but I’m 6+3 today and the nausea kicked in this morning, I’ve changed my mind!! There must be some other way of knowing your baby is okay, cannot be doing with nausea/ vomiting whilst trying to hold down a full time job and not tell my employer until Feb!!

madeleine85 · 04/01/2022 21:52

@StayWeird I am only 5+2 per my calculations, my doctor thinks it is more like 6 weeks but won't listen to my later ovulation argument. I know I didn't feel much with my daughter at this stage, but by 6.5 weeks I had my head down a toilet. Honestly wish I was feeling worse so i'd mentally feel better. I just ate a salad which i'd never have done the last time lol. Good luck for your scan! @Yebbie home you are feeling ok, you must be relieved!

Isonthecase · 04/01/2022 22:41

When is everyone planning to tell work? I'm hoping to leave it fairly late but nervous about showing before!

firsttimemumca · 05/01/2022 06:47

@Isonthecase

When is everyone planning to tell work? I'm hoping to leave it fairly late but nervous about showing before!
I was going to leave it until after 12 weeks scan.

I've also booked an early scan for this Sat where I should be around 8+5. Depending on how it goes, and how I'm feeling I may tell my manager a little earlier?

Luckily, I haven't actually been sick yet! But, I do feel very nauseous when I wake up in the morning, and late afternoon I get heartburn and nausea.

Hope everyone is feeling okay this morning x

CaMePlaitPas · 05/01/2022 06:49

Hi! I'm due August 2nd with my third - terrified!

Cakecakecheese · 05/01/2022 07:26

I've been taking pessaries for ages as I had IVF and honestly the back way is so much better, less gooey! I've taken my last one today. I'm really scared as last time I stopped taking pessaries I started bleeding and it turned out I'd had an MMC. I had a scan last week where all was good but that's not stopping me worrying.

Lilipa · 05/01/2022 10:25

Thank you everyone for your support on my loss. I will leave this group now and wish you all remaining to have full term healthy pregnancies and to hold your healthy babies in your arms this summer.

Beth262 · 05/01/2022 10:40

@Cakecakecheese Fingers crossed everything is as it should be for you this time around. I'm the same as you - scan last week and 6 days in I'm already worried again and counting down the days to my next one (8 days to go!).

Beth262 · 05/01/2022 10:43

Good luck with your future journey @Lilipa wishing you all the best Flowers x

NetflixAndSauvignonBlanc · 05/01/2022 11:01

Is anyone else waiting for their standard NHS booking appointment and 12 week scan rather than having early scans? I've not heard anything about either yet, I'm currently 6+6.

Isonthecase · 05/01/2022 11:16

Yep @NetflixAndSauvignonBlanc that's the plan. We don't have an early scan nearby and I can't be bothered to drive far. May change if the bump shows up earlier though as I want a scan before telling work!

Mufflette · 05/01/2022 11:16

@Lilipa that's a lovely message. Hoping you'll be back on another of these threads soon with everything going well. Flowers

Mufflette · 05/01/2022 11:20

@NetflixAndSauvignonBlanc yes, we are. So far nothing that seems to concern so we're happy to wait (and I know I would still be worrying what could happen in the meantime even if I had an early scan!). I've got my booking in appointment over the phone next week (8weeks) but no scan date as yet.

sho22 · 05/01/2022 11:27

I'm 8+4 and still have no symptoms, I also took another test yesterday after having previous miscarriages and the positive line has faded quite a bit.
I've not bled, had any reason to believe I'm miscarrying, I've just got a horrid feeling I've had a missed miscarriage and my body is just waiting to bleed now.
Anyone else in the same boat?
I'd love to book a scan but I've already had two (one at 6 weeks where nothing but the sac and yolk was seen, and then one at what I believe was 7 weeks but turned out i was 6+3).

beckybloomwood11 · 05/01/2022 11:28

@NetflixAndSauvignonBlanc I think I'm planning just to wait to the 12 week scan. Before getting pregnant I was convinced I'd want an early one, and now I am the thought of having an early scan makes me feel stressed (no idea why, the whole point is to be reassuring!). So I think I'm just going to wait till my 12 weeks, unless I feel differently in the time before then.
