@Juno231 That is such a good plan. Have the private scan and then do the self referral.

Yeah it's a really rare thing he had. Normally babies don't survive it, but thankfully we were a lucky one!!

I am legit so happy for you!! I have 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 you have a sticky one!! ✨✨✨ and lots of baby dust!!

Crazydoglady123 · 07/12/2021 11:45

Hey ladies,

Still here, lurking mostly! Congrats on the new BFPs in the group to those I haven't congratulated privately. So happy for you all!

Had a bit of a scare last night. I am 33+5 and last night after I got out of the bath dried myself off with a towel and noticed some white mucus and then bright red blood on the towel and smeared round my thighs. I called triage and as it had stopped I had to sit with a sanitary towel on and monitor for an hour. After the hour they wanted me to go to Day Assessment Unit to be checked by the doctor. Got there around 11.30pm and went to the toilet to find a big clot in my pad (which the nurses took) and my urine sample was red with blood. I was put on a CTG and madam was fine. Around 12/12.30 I started getting some period like pains. Saw the doctor at around 1am who examined me with a spectrum and said there was still dark red blood and wanted the senior consultant to see me who did and he said my cervix is closed but apparently the CTG showed some tightenings and with the period pain they kept me in overnight in case labour was imminent. Well she's still cooking! The bleeding has stopped pad/toilet wise but I'm still waiting to be checked again. The pain had eased this morn but I feel a bit periody again recently although she has been engaged for the last couple of weeks and keeps making me have sharp pains in my cervix. The consultant did say the bleeding could be a sign of preterm labour which could start in time. I was supposed to be going home this morn but still haven't seen anyone and I'm so bored of waiting and feeling in the dark to know what's happening. I'm sure I just heard someone outside my room say my name and about starting me on steroids. My first pregnancy with DS was so straight forward! Was your experience similar @SWAttempting?

SWAttempting · 07/12/2021 11:53

Nope nothing like that I'm afraid @Crazydoglady123

I went in Saturday day time with a blood pressure of 190/110, reduced urine output and a headache. Back Saturday night with absent movements. LO didn't meet CTG criteria, was discharged for 12 hours. Back 12 hours later and LO was pathological/flatlining in my tummy. LO was out within 27 minutes. Didn't have any time for steroids or anything like that. LO was born with 42 ml of blood. AGPAR score of 0, first sign of life at 12 minutes.

Crazydoglady123 · 07/12/2021 12:02

@SWAttempting oh wow! That was very quick! I was on Sunday night for RFM as she'd been really quiet. Typically came to life when the bands went on and was allowed home after 15 mins. I think they were talking about doing a swab last night when they examined me with the speculum. Not sure what that will show 🤷🏽‍♀️ I did have leukocytes in my urine on Sunday night

Crazydoglady123 · 07/12/2021 12:03

@SWAttempting meant to say the was quick and scary for you!

paintfairy · 07/12/2021 12:06

@SWAttempting oh wow. That all sounds like scary stuff.
@2020mission I now have visions of all these pissed up women feeding their kids! No wonder the world has gone to pot. 🤣
@Crazydoglady123 oh no. Well I'm pleased everything is OK at least. But it sounds stressful. I hope the drs get their act together!

Crazydoglady123 · 07/12/2021 14:18

@paintfairy it's a joke. So I've had the first steroid injection at 1.30pm and need the second in exactly 24 hours time. The midwife said the doctor who prescribed them says I can come back as outpatient for it tomorrow but they rushed off to an emergency c section before they could sign me off so the midwife said she'll get the other doctor on duty to so I can go but they're refusing to as they think I need to stay in 24 hours until I've had both injections meh! So now I've got to wait for the original doctor to sign my notes so I'm allowed to go

Kirky658 · 07/12/2021 14:32

@crazydoglady123 oh hun that sounds so worrying for you! The steroids sting like hell don't they, feel for you. I'm glad baby is all OK though. If your cervix is closed that's a very good sign though. Keep us updated x

Kirky658 · 07/12/2021 14:35

Also @swattempting congrats on your pregnancy, your little one is too cute 😍 fellow one with experience of NICU here it is awful isn't it x

Sunbird24 · 07/12/2021 14:46

This is my line progression with the Femometer strips - had to crop it as the dye-stealers from before the last MC are still on there!

TMI warning…
I don’t know if it’s something ive eaten or the progesterone, but ive had really bad ‘explosions’ a couple of mornings now, with what looks like scary bleeding but I’m 99.9% certain it’s a fissure rather than anything sinister.

@Sunbird24 ah lovely progression there! Long may it continue 🤞

Just did my digital and got 2-3 weeks which I'm happy with 🤞

Juno231 · 07/12/2021 15:25

@Crazydoglady123 I read your updates whilst I was at Sainsbury's and then forgot to comment 🤦. It sounds really stressful what you're going through! And also super annoying that they're holding you hostage lol. Did they tell you what the steroids are meant to accomplish?

Juno231 · 07/12/2021 17:02

Sorry for the triple post... But @Vil10 did you say you were going to try again today with the CB digital or wait until tomorrow?

paintfairy · 07/12/2021 17:14

@Juno231 🥳 for the 2-3 weeks.
I'm having another day where I want to cry because I feel so ill. 😭 I want this to go away. DH just asked what time I want tea. No idea but not yet! Couldn't face eating.

whatwonder · 07/12/2021 17:37

@Crazydoglady123 hope you're doing okay, what a stressful experience. Any word yet from the doctor on being discharged? are you still having pains?

lovely progression @Sunbird24 and congrats on the 2-3 CB @Juno231 !

I just got my screening results back, my risk factor for DS is 1:613 - is that good? They've said it's too low to do further testing on the NHS but looks like it's higher than what it should be for my age group (which is 1:900). I really have no clue how to interpret the results so feeling a bit anxious about it.

Juno231 · 07/12/2021 17:41

@whatwonder still only 1 in 613 but I would be anxious too. Any chance you can get nipt done privately? If I make it that far I'll be doing it at 10 weeks.

@paintfairy noo I'm so sorry you're suffering. Is OH at least the one making dinner? Mine would still expect me to as he can't cook 😆

paintfairy · 07/12/2021 17:45

@Juno231 DH always makes dinner. 🤣 I'm a useless wife. I have found drinking Pepsi helps me and I actually like the taste. It seems ridiculous but I've just googled it and it's a thing! Only issue is, clearly you can't have loads.
@whatwonder I think those odds are pretty good. But yes you could get a private test if you were worried.

Crazydoglady123 · 07/12/2021 17:51

@Kirky658 I thought my progesterone injections were big...these were huge! How's baby girlie doing?

@Sunbird24 how long till your viability scan?

@Juno231 yay! Nothing a better sight! The steroids are to help the organs function better if she comes premature. I've got the next one tomorrow at 1.30 just all up in the air still if I have to stay in till I have it or can come back for it.

@whatwonder still waiting to find out! I still feel a bit period like pain in my lower abdomen but it comes and goes. I can't remember what my screening results were. I'll check when I get my notes back

whatwonder · 07/12/2021 18:06

@Crazydoglady123 hopefully you can go home soon!

@Juno231 @paintfairy thanks, it’s hard to know what to do. I’d like to avoid paying £500 to do the nipt privately if I can. I just have no clue if this is considered a “good” or “worrying” result, just that it’s lower than the threshold that they will do further testing on the nhs.

Kirky658 · 07/12/2021 18:18

@whatwonder I was worried about my results as they came back 1:1500 which was really low for my age and Alice is fine!

@crazydoglady123 omg. I know and they hurt like hell too! Alice has her first cold and a poorly cough so I'm exhausted 😪

Vil10 · 07/12/2021 18:31

@whatwonder Thankyou!! I definitely feel like it still isn't real!! Wow, that friend sounds a dick head!! Why would she say that!! I'd say those odds are good!! How old are you?

@Juno231 yesss 3 people to drink your drink when others aren't looking!! Woo to your 2-3, amazing🥳 I was going to do it today but we go away on Thursday for a few nights and I was worried if I only got a 2-3 that it'll ruin our time, I am tempted to do it tomorrow morning but I'm scared

@kaylsd heyyy

@Crazydoglady123 so glad everything is okay with you and baby but how bloody worrying and stressful!! You'd think the doctors would be more on it!!

@Sunbird24 lovely line progression!!

@paintfairy urghhh sorry you're feeling shit!! Bonus though that your OH does all the cooking🤣

@Kirky658 what're the levels per age? Does it go up every 5/10 years? I haven't really even thought about looking...

Juno231 · 07/12/2021 18:36

@vil10 the numbers go down. So eg 1 in 10 000 is really good as the odds are low, whereas 1 in 80 is a bit worrying in comparison.

@whatwonder 1:613 honestly sounds slim so it's up to you how risk averse you are but they're definitely not bad odds at all!

Sunbird24 · 07/12/2021 18:40

@Crazydoglady123 have they let you out yet??
My scan is likely to be 4th Jan, my 8 week point.

@Kirky658, sorry you have a poorly girl, hope she’s over it soon!

@paintfairy is it the caffeine with the Pepsi that means you have to limit it, or is it fizzy drinks in general? An ice cold Pepsi Max is sounding quite nice to me tonight!

@Juno231 hooray for the 2-3 weeks! Now to resist the urge for another 7 days…

@whatwonder I hope you can get some clarification on your results without it being too spendy 🤞

Vil10 · 07/12/2021 18:44

@Juno231 yeah sorry I get that, but is there like a standard chart they go off? Like Kirky said hers was low for he age category, so just wondering what is normal for certain ages

whatwonder · 07/12/2021 18:44

@Vil10 I'm 31 so the average for my age group is 1:900 (I think?)

@Juno231 yeah I'm sure you're right it's just all a bit of a mind melt isn't it. I thought that as soon as I made it to the 2nd trimester I wouldn't be anxious anymore and then something like this comes up and I'm back to panic spiralling.

I guess the other way of looking at the 1:613 result is that there is a 99.8% chance of it not happening. It was just a bit jarring to see the number be lower (therefore higher risk) than the average for my age group. also aware that this could be quite insensitive as other people may have received results of a higher risk ratio - very sorry if that's the case!
