@Minster2012 I've also had the little red itchy spots on my chest! I think possibly just sweaty titties 🤣

I've found I'm drinking a pint of milk at night before bed which is odd as I'm not a massive milk fan - it eases my heartburn a little too.
And this last week I've been enjoying crackers with cheese on (I only manage 3/4 depending which kind as I got a mega Xmas box of mused ones) and they've been amazing haha

Vil10 · 06/12/2021 21:54

Thankyou for all the welcomes to the pregnancy bus!! Ahhh feels weird saying that!! Going off my LMP and a due date calculator I'd be due around 6th August, I don't mind at all that he/she will be one of the youngest in the class or anything like that, I'm just so happy I'm here🤣 and a summer birthday would be fab for them too! OH is a June baby and he loves having a birthday in the sun!

@DKDK123 that's so much to take in!! I know it must be hard knowing you don't won't get those firsts again but just try and focus on yourself and baby getting here safely, you'll do amazing❤️

@2020mission wow your due date is so soon!! I remember you getting your BFP!!

@paintfairy hahahaa your DH!! Classic male

@Bea14 my boobs have been so sore today so I hope the sickness doesn't hit me at 6 weeks, knowing my luck it'll happen when we're away

@Juno231 what prenatals are you taking??

@Minster2012 oooo hot bath with a no alcohol cider sounds dreamy!!

My boobs have been so painful today, even the dog cuddling me I had to push him off because they were hurting so bad! I also got a few stabbing pains in my right boob today, like 4/5 times then it went, nipples are sore too but my boobs don't seem swollen or heavier! Andddd I'm still constipated🙃💩

bez91 · 06/12/2021 21:57

Thanks ladies, not sure on the leftover sperm theory 😂 will see if anything else happens in the next couple of days! I can also send my MW a message it seems on the online thing so I might try that seeing as it's not urgent.
@2020mission realistic thinking on the nursery, they don't use it or sleep in it so if you're soon to move definitely a sensible option! I'm an early January birthday yeah kinda as you say and still in that lull after Christmas. Plus if you get vouchers the shops are full of rubbish so you have to wait until mid February so no birthday shopping 😆

@Bea14 glad you're on their radar and they're keeping an eye on you! Hopefully you will feel a bit better tomorrow!

Juno231 · 06/12/2021 21:59

@Minster2012 stop showing off with your bath 😭 . The cheese part is tricky as I'm still trying out cutting back on dairy to see if my psoriasis improves at all. I guess not having baby leech calcium out of my bones is more important though...

Oh and I missed your earlier question about alcohol! It won't be easy per se but shouldn't be terrible. I had Sunday lunch at BILs yesterday and they didn't bat an eye about me declining wine as BIL and his gf don't drink much themselves. On Thurs I've got Xmas dinner with the boss and my colleague... That might be a tad trickier but I think I'll tell them I'm still feeling a bit ropey from my chest infection. Friday is dinner with the in laws - there's 8 of us though so no one should notice if I have a small glass of wine I then never touch. Xmas itself is fine as I'll probably just tell my parents. NYE is the tricky one! We're away with two other couples - one couple knows as the wife has been TTC alongside me and is also due IVF, but OH has thrown a spanner in the works by saying he doesn't want the other couple to know. Not sure what I'm doing with that one!

Speaking of which @vil10 what happened to your NYE plans as you were gonna struggle with alcohol then too?

Juno231 · 06/12/2021 22:01

@Vil10 I copied minster and got the proceive first trimester ones!

2020mission · 06/12/2021 22:13

You're all putting me to shame I've only ever took vitamin D and folic acid throughout this pregnancy as that's all the NHS recommended 😅 I did make sure to eat more healthily though. I've been on iron tablets too since my levels dropped at 28 weeks.

Thankfully I'm not a soft cheese fan so it's been easy for me 😆 I only really missed drinking during the summer if I saw people enjoying a wine in the sun outside but otherwise it's been fine. I realise I probably won't be able to drink for a while longer once he's here too if breastfeeding. Definitely the longest I've been sober since I started drinking!

feliznavidad2 · 06/12/2021 22:19

Catching up...
Oh @Bea14 that sounds horrible, glad they're keeping a close eye on you and hope you feel better soon.

Your bath sounds divine @Minster2012 how's the non alcoholic cider?

Agree with the others @paintfairy food is food at the moment, be kind to yourself and just eat what you can.

Nowhere better to share your constipation news than here @Vil10 - have you tried Lactulose yet?

@Juno231 sounds like you're well planned for batting off any queries about your lack of drinking, good work.

Summer babies sound a lot more fun than winter and parties in the sun will be waaaaay better. DS is a NY baby, let me tell you after a 3 day induction, that was not a fun New Year's Eve.

I'm due on 10th July by LMP, but think it may now be 13th July adjusted following early scans. Feel v nauseous but managing to eat (badly).

2020mission · 06/12/2021 22:30

@Lexber glad to hear your daughter was fine back when you had the excess fluid! It definitely helps to hear about cases where all was well so thanks for sharing! Hoping the next scan will show the fluid has reduced 🤞 he gets hiccups fairly regularly and I can feel him move plenty so that makes me think he must be swallowing fluid ok if he's getting the hiccups and if the fluid had got worse I'd be feeling less movements too. Are you thinking of sticking with names starting with A for your twins then 😃

Juno231 · 06/12/2021 22:35

@2020mission remember you can drink when breastfeeding. It's safe as long as you're not so drunk you might drop the baby - no joke! They don't even recommend pump and dump anymore, it's considered outdated.

2020mission · 06/12/2021 22:39

@Juno231 ohh I just looked it up you're right it seems it's ok. NHS recommends waiting 2-3 hours after a drink before the next feed. Maybe I can have a small glass of wine on any special occasions early in the year after all! I'll probably be too tired for it though and choose a nap over a drink haha

lucyrp · 07/12/2021 02:52

@2020mission that's not actually the advice anymore! They say the best time to feed the baby if you're just having the odd drink is whilst you're drinking! And you could get completely drunk and still feed the baby if someone else was there holding etc as breast milk is actually made from your blood so you'd actually have to be at the point of having your stomach pumped before the baby got any kind of alcohol! Its mad how its changed as when I had DS the advice was pump and dump and abstain for so many hours but now you don't have to. Like Juno said if you're safe to hold the baby you're safe to feed the baby. I'm going out next Friday with my friends and plan to get reasonably drunk which won't take much I'm sure but just going to feed as usual when we wake in the morning. Don't worry I never took supplements either only the folic acid until 12 weeks xx

@lucyrp I was told the same re breastfeeding too! I was happy to be able to have a drink or several 😁

SWAttempting · 07/12/2021 07:48

I was told by NICU - "if you can find the baby you can feed the baby"

SWAttempting · 07/12/2021 07:51

I'm jumping on this bus ride...

I've been hanging around for a while 😂 (peeping Tom!)

I have a 1 Y/O who was born at 33 weeks in Dec 2020. Aug 2021 I was diagnosed with heart failure and told "now or never" for baby #2 as my heart won't cope in 18-24 months time.

Stopped mini pill on 02/10, no withdrawal bleed, no cycle. Positive test 11/11.

Now 7+1 with #2 who has a little HB! ❤️

I've been rooting for @Juno231 since I bumped into her when was trying for my son!

If anyone is interested - this is my son...

Thirded on the boozing and breastfeeding chat! I have a nice large glass of wine some evenings and James doesn't seem to have developed a drink problem yet 😂 literally the first thing I did when I got home from hospital was have a drink! (It was like 8pm on a Saturday night so definitely acceptable lol)

Kate105 · 07/12/2021 07:53

Oh and not to brag but I have eaten an entire wedge of Brie de Meaux this week 💁🏼‍♀️

Lexber · 07/12/2021 09:05

@2020mission I got the vitamins in good faith but haven't been able to swallow them 🤣 I struggled getting folic acid down me and strange enough some days I took more as I instinctively knew twins... I only managed to start vitamin d and aspirin about 12/13 weeks as couldn't keep anything down!!
I still have the pregnancare decent expensive ones... 🤣🤣

Ooh @feliznavidad2 my birthday is 13/07!!

@2020mission we did initially say an A name if we found one but now it's 2, that's out the window 🤣 alexia is lexie mist of the time and amber is anything she answers to.. 🤣 we did like Amelia (milly) initially but I have a few others I like more.. but non enough to commit to if that makes sense?!

Juno231 · 07/12/2021 10:27

@SWAttempting welcome! That pic of your son is incredible!! Did he have to spend long in NICU? What will they do about your heart after #2? When's the next scan and due date? :)

And I agree about if you can find the baby you can feed the baby - I just wasn't sure @2020mission would believe me 😆

SWAttempting · 07/12/2021 10:34

@Juno231 We had 2 weeks in a level 3 NICU over 50 miles from home and 10 days at Level 2 NICU at home.

He was born because of a FMH (fetomaternal haemorrhage). It was a silent one and a massive one. The fact it was silent & massive made it a 1 in 20,000 event. But basically had absent movements. No trauma, no pain & no bleeding.

He was born with 42ml of blood and the other 128ml of blood was found in me. The extra blood in my system has given me heart failure!

Due date is 25th July but #2 will be born between 32 and 35 weeks. I'll have an echocardiogram at 20 weeks and 32 weeks and be admitted at 32 weeks.

That's the plan. But Hudson changed his plan so we shall see.

Next scan is January 7th but will likely be seen before that!

I have pre-term birth clinic, consultant clinic, cardiology clinic, growth scans, Doppler scans and normal scans 🤦🏻‍♀️ Daily blood pressure monitoring and urine dips too. But it'll all be worth it.

How are you feeling? How far along? When's the DD? Scan? Are you being seen early considering your insane journey? ❤️

Vil10 · 07/12/2021 11:02

@Juno231 well the couple we're supposed to be going with haven't mentioned it and I checked the hotel website and the tickets are definitely available to buy now, so maybe they've changed their mind and just don't want to mention it, which works out better for me anyway🤣 not sure what we'll do instead though, I did suggest maybe going for a meal and then meeting some friends afterwards for drinks and by then they'll all be drunk and won't notice that I'm not drinking, I usually drinking vodka lime and soda so if I just get lime and soda they won't notice!! Hmm nye might be a little trickier for you, maybe your friend that knows could try and help you hide it?? I have my nanas 80th on the 18th, a big family do, but I've already planted the seed to my mum that I'm driving because I have my friends daughters 2nd birthday early the Sunday morning (it isn't until the afternoon but she doesn't know that), and my sister is the only one we've told so she can help me hide it! Also I've been looking at the proceive ones!!

@2020mission @lucyrp I've only been taking folic acid and vit D too, I was considering vit c but I got a lot in with my diet anyway!

@feliznavidad2 I haven't actually yet, I do have some un though so I'm going to see how I get on today then try it, I have ibs too and get really constipated and bad stomach pains with that so I'm thinking the hormones are making it worse!! Glad you're managing to eat a little!!

@Juno231 @lucyrp @2020mission I didn't know about the drinking and breastfeeding thing either!! Well every days a school day!! I really want to breastfeed but not going to put too much pressure on myself!

@SWAttempting welcome!! Wow that pic of your son!! Wow it really sounds like you've been through it, glad they have a plan in place for you too!

whatwonder · 07/12/2021 11:10

hi pals, took a few days off MN and as always, need to read up on all the chat! thanks for the new thread @lucyrp !

@Minster2012 wahoooo!! a girl, how exciting! and the stories about DS are so cute, love the rainbow dinosaur!

Welcome @Vil10 @Juno231 @Sunbird24 !!! so excited to have you guys here, huge congrats to you all! I definitely know the feeling of not believing it's happening for real, but it is! and we are all here for you xx

@Bea14 so sorry you've been having to struggle with HG, that sounds horrendous. what has the MW/GP said about getting fluids? I feel like waiting until the last possible minute to get them isn't ideal, you've clearly been struggling with keeping food and water down, seems like getting a drip might be the best thing? hopefully the medication will make a difference.

@2020mission was it your partner you was being dramatic about swapping sides of the bed? I would be fuming haha. I haven't slept through the night since before my BFP and I'm 14 weeks now. I have zero patience when my DH complains about not sleeping well (for context it will be when he's slept around 1 hour less than he usually does....)

Due date chat... I'm due 5 June (had this confirmed at my 12 week scan). I'm stoked for a June baby (I'm a summer baby myself - born in August) and love the idea of a spring/summer babe. Although am now conscious of there being the mega bank holiday weekend this year, so will hopefully not be in labour over that haha :P

I had dinner with some friends on the weekend and found out that they're also expecting, her due date is the same as mine! We're not super close, but still it's nice to know someone in the same situation. Although... she can be slightly obnoxious at times, for instance she said "ah yeah I just decided when I wanted to have the baby and timed it accordingly, got pregnant on my first go" and then said to me "oh you didn't really time it right did you" when referring to the fact that my in laws will be in town when the baby is born. As someone who's had a loss and went through a bit just to conceive, I was pretty taken aback by that comment. Like who says that???

Juno231 · 07/12/2021 11:11

@SWAttempting that's mental, I didn't even realise it was a thing. So his blood ended up in you?? And I'm afraid I get no special treatment for being an infertile donkey. In fact I still have my IVF starting next month as I'm worried I'll have an MC with this one so don't want to cancel something that took me 18 months of NHS hoops to get to. I'm holding off doing a self referral to the midwife until week 7 or 8 as well in case I'll need that IVF and they can see I got pregnant lol. Got a private scan booked in for 8+1 (4/1) though!

Juno231 · 07/12/2021 11:13

@whatwonder erm can we please kick that woman on the shin - hard??

@SWAttempting forgot to say my DD is 15/8

@Vil10 ha that's good your friends didn't mention NYE again. Dinner with drinks sounds lovely instead. And yes brilliant idea about having the other couple help me hide it too - I'd have three people helping themselves to my drinks 😆

Juno231 · 07/12/2021 11:15

Ooh just saw someone on the FB group mention to use UTI as an excuse not to drink - I could do that for NYE!

kaylsd · 07/12/2021 11:18
