Hey ladies sorry I haven't been posting it's not been a simple case of the happy newborn bubble. Not sure how much I mentioned about my birth but after the natural vaginal birth with gas an air I had a sever blood loss (1700mls) along with a retained placenta. My haemoglobin kept dropping after the emergency surgery transfusions, I'm still in hospital and I had to go through further transfusions this week. Honestly so grateful to those who donate blood!! ❤️ I've been in tears sitting in here every day unsure about my health, missing my husband and trying to care for baby on my own but I've found out im allowed home tonight since the latest transfusions yesterday have got me to the threshold just. Still need iron supplements and monitoring. Why is labour never easy?? On another note, I can confirm the polyhydramnios (excess amniotic fluid) was simply that alone - some extra waters and nothing wrong with baby etc. Hopefully that can reassure anyone else who could end up with a diagnosis in their pregnancy 🤞

I will catch up with you all eventually but wanted to make it clear I hadn't just buggered off because I had my baby 😆

paintfairy · 31/12/2021 13:01

@blackcurrantqueen fab news! Not long now! It feels like it's gone really quick for you. I suppose at least you know where you stand?
@bez91 you can come and be my horse if you like? Although we might get some strange looks. 🤣🤣🤣
I don't know? I've heard before that the babies are often smaller. I don't think they let them go over date and there's also a still birth risk for some reason I'm not sure. Some ivf people seem to get put on aspirin as standard (not been mentioned to me yet) or other things. Seems to vary by area. Someone also said icsi babies are more high risk because of how the egg is fertilised. No idea how true that is or where official studies are. What I did work out a while back from my clinics own stats though- was the pregnancy to live birth percentage was a much higher drop off rate for icsi than standard ivf. Something like 30% must have resulted in miscarriage for the icsi ones vs literally a couple of standard ivf. And that was in all age groups too. As for pregnancy complications etc though I've really no idea. 🤷‍♀️ But when you sign up for it - no one is telling you all of this!

paintfairy · 31/12/2021 13:07

@larrythelizard 2 weeks today! 14th. But I thought it was 2 weeks sat wondering that I don't need to do. For the sake of £45.
Hope you don't have to isolate!
@2020mission oh wow. Not good you are still in there. Great news it looks like you can go home though and you'll feel much better once you are back with DH. I don't think labour is ever straight forward? They just like you to think it's possible.

Lexber · 31/12/2021 13:58

Sorry ladies will catch up later as need to take you test for her PCR - OH is home in bed sleeping on codeine.

I'm running in empty but only half day at work today and boss is brilliant and letting me do the 4 hours through the day as and when - 1hr45 done... 2hr15 to go later lol

Will catch up properly when I get a chance xx

Sunbird24 · 31/12/2021 14:06

Glad he’s home @Lexber, hope the codeine keeps him knocked out comfortable so he’s not being an Ahole!

Vil10 · 31/12/2021 15:17

@clolo awww lovely news on the little girl💗 congratulations!!!

@larrythelizard mmm wagyu burgers sound delicious!! I haven't been to the gym since before Christmas, I'm aiming to go back on the 4th when I go back to work but I've just been so tired, so going to aim for 3x a week and see how that goes, still going to do my 2 walks a day as well as I love a good walk with the dogs!!

@paintfairy I have a glass back too! It was operated on in feb 2020 and only seems to have worked a little, both my parents have had bad backs and obviously I inherited it from both of them whilst my sister missed out, hope my little cashew doesn't get my glass back😂 they are good the massage guns but do hurt you're right!! How did you horse like it?😂 I've tried it on my older dog and he weren't too happy about it!

@Minster2012 I still need to watch selling sunset!! I'm half way through the second season of Emily in Paris!

@DKDK123 ohhh what a lovely weekend you had!! And hearing the heartbeat🥰 my mum suggested me getting a Doppler so she could hear it further down the line but I'd be like you and if I couldn't find it I'd panic! It doesn't seem early at all!! I know we have to be aware and cautious and for people like yourself who have had such a hard time and have unfortunately had heartbreaking losses, but we also need to try and enjoy this time too and if buying the cot makes you happy, you buy the cot girl!! Your DS sounds so so cute, he'll make an amazing big brother!!

@bez91 yess I have one of those mats!! A shakti mat?? It works absolute wonders for my sciatica!! Have you noticed the indents in your skin take ages to disappear afterwards?😂 your evening sounds perfect!!

@Lexber oh bloody hell!! Hope you're DH is okay!! Even though he's been an arse😂 you can't seem to catch a break at the minute!!

@kaylsd ive only had the Tesco one, can't remember what it's called but I quite enjoyed it, tasted a little like pears or appletizer! I may have to try the other suggestions though! Have the best night tonight announcing to family!!🥰

@blackcurrantqueen so so glad everything is looking good with little miss💗 it's good you're at peace with your section too, now get buying!!😂

@paintfairy when is your 12 week scan? I have to say I've been so so tempted to book another early scan for 10 weeks but I don't know whether to, im 9 weeks tomorrow then go back to work on the 4th, so if I feel like it's dragging I might book one! I didn't know thst about ivf babies either!! What's been said?

@2020mission oh I'm so sorry it hasn't been straight forward for you and you're still in there but amazing that you can go home tonight and the main thing is that you and baby boy are healthy and well!! You're an absolute warrior❤️

Well can I join the "my OH has pissed me off royally" today team?? So he went to watch football away yesterday and it was his friends birthday so I knew he'd be out late and I never have a problem with him being out late, I like the time to binge watch things he doesn't like, anyway strolls in at 4am🥴 his friend has a bar and he did a lock in for all him and his friends for the guys birthday, I can never sleep properly when in the house on my own, so I'd had a rubbish sleep then he woke me up being too loud, so when I got up and gave him the whole speech, he told me it's his last blow out because next Christmas his attention will be solely on the baby, then he made me a sausage and bacon butty and a brew and brought it to me in bed, so we left it and carried on. Then, I said right let's take the tree down, I'd taken everything down the other day and taken all the baubles off the tree, ee just need to dismantle the tree and put it away, he proceeded to complain so I told him to piss off and I'd do it myself, obviously that then led to loads more cleaning, wiping doors, walls, skirting boards, polishing, wiping down sofas, dogs beds, everything, go upstairs thinking he'd be doing something productive and he's asleep the fucking last twat!!! So I started hoovering in the bedroom, he soon woke up🙂

larrythelizard · 31/12/2021 16:58

Oh gosh @2020mission that sounds like an ordeal, pleased you're well enough to go home today, just take it really easy.

@paintfairy the two IVF babies in my NCT group were somewhere between 10 and 14 days late (can't quite remember) so not always the case that they induce them. Oh £45 is well worth it, I'm paying £90 next week 😬

😂😂😂 serves him right @Vil10

Pleased you've got him home @Lexber

Midwife rang me today to schedule my booking appt, it'll be on the phone which suits me and it's the midwife I had last time who was lovely which is great. Apparently because of DS' birth (bit of a disaster) ill get referred to the consultant to discuss ELCS vs VBAC, not sure what I think about that, but that's partly based on what I think due date will be - and whether it's worth trying to cross my legs and hope baby is late and born in Sept instead of late August...! Got to get to early scan next week and check there's something in there first!

Justanothercyster · 31/12/2021 17:04

Omg mammoth catch up!

@2020mission big congrats! Sorry your experience wasn't the one you'd hope for but he's here and he's gorgeous 💕 the gel was absolutely the worst for me, inductions suck balls, but I'm glad it worked for you :)

@Kate105 cluster feeding is rubbish! But short lived 🤞🏼

@paintfairy I had all sorts of weird pains around that area too whilst pg, it's annoying and worrying but try not to think about it too much.
I didn't realise ivf babies have issues? What are they?

@Minster2012 just read about your oncology apt, definitely the right decision! Heavy stuff but you have so much good stuff to look forward to!
Oh god take it easy tonight 🥳

@kaylsd great news about little prawn! And I also got nipple boobs 😂

@feliznavidad2 so exciting! So happy for you 🎉

@Vil10 Like others have said, try not to worry about the yolk sac, it sounds like everything is going well with little bean 💜
My plan for tonight is to sleep 😂

@bez91 aww lovely scan pic! Glad it went well

@Lexber that all sounds exhausting! I hope you can get some rest soon!
Hope oh feels better soon.

@clolo aww little girl to add to the gang 💕 exciting!

@DKDK123 aww that's exciting about the heartbeat ❤️

@blackcurrantqueen good luck! She'll be here one way or another!

Will update in a mo as bub just started crying 🙈

Minster2012 · 31/12/2021 17:42

@paintfairy DS wasn't induced he came a day late after numerous "vigorous" sweeps but they did say that they prefer an induction for ivf babies but didn't really say why

@2020mission hopefully you are home now ❤️🤞🏻

@larrythelizard all things to consider in the future maybe how uncomfortable you are at the time? Have you booked a scan yet?

@Vil10 4am wtf???? But then a bacon and sausage for forgiveness I'm down With that

Lots of hugs @Lexber keep going darling

So I've ended up coming to our friends to get DS out of the house too, so if I don't post before then have a very happy new year everyone 🥰🥳💕🙌🏻🥂🍾chin chin with the fake stuff 🤪

Justanothercyster · 31/12/2021 18:31

So update. Molly is now 7weeks old and is a dream, very easy baby apart from a couple of weeks ago during a growth spurt where she cluster fed like hell! Sleeps through the night apart from a feed at 4am and tends to wake around 9 which is nice for me 🙈 I can't believe how much she's changed already! She's been "talking" to us a lot this week which is super cute. Last got weighed 23rd Dec at a lovely 10lb12oz so breasfeeding is going well 😁

I've been signed off after my c section, tbh apart from the first week or so recovery wasn't nearly as bad as I thought, so next time I'll just opt for it again. Even though I hated being pregnant and swore after 5 day failed induction from hell that I would never do it again 😅

Speaking of next time... wonder if I can have some of your thoughts...
After how long ttc took last time due to pcos and sperm issues, we always said we'd not use any contraception after baby was born, but now I'm a bit worried we'll magically be fertile and Sod's law I'll get pg instantly (never going to happen...)
I would like another one but not at this very minute, but at the same time don't want to get to a point where it's taking forever and Molly gets too much older/ doesn't happen at all. We've been using condoms but I hate them, find them actually painful (no latex allergy, just don't like the horrible plastic feeling even on the "natural" ones), and because of my pcos don't want any sort of hormone. Not a fan of the coil idea either...
given the issues we had ttc, would you think it's safe just to go by bbt? I'm so irregular I'd never know when ov is happening etc so at least that would give me an idea... stopped bleeding a couple weeks ago and still no sign of a period so god knows my pcos isn't magically gone 🙄
We've said if it happens then we'd be happy, just not sure im ready to go through it all again quite this early 🙈😂

Anyway... mind dump over. Any thoughts welcome ☺️ hope everyone has a lovely NYE whether it's partying, being sick from bump or feeding a little one! 🥂🎉

paintfairy · 31/12/2021 18:32

@Vil10 yeah my mum has also had back operations, as did her dad. I struggle but in ok if I keep on top of it. It is a bit of a pain though especially with having the horses. The massage gun kills (works on my arse mind) so I can see a dog not looking it. Good for horse bums though!
My 12 week scan is at 12+4 on 14th. I wish I'd had the foresight to book one for this week really. As it seems daft having a less than 2 week gap. But I'm on progesterone and likely wouldn't know if I miscarried. So it is a concern. After that I probably need to get a grip though, its just hard going weeks on end wondering? And I kind of feel worse for telling mum as they are excited. So it'll be awful if anything goes wrong.
@larrythelizard £90? Bloody hell. No, I'd have just waited if it were that much. 🤣 DH would have had a fit! How can they do blood tests etc over the phone?! 🤔
@Lexber glad he's home!
@Minster2012 no its strange isn't it. There seems to be so many differing opinions and I can't work out how much evidence there is etc.

Lexber · 31/12/2021 19:15

@larrythelizard I usually make an allowance for high blood sugar arseness, this was a whole new ball game!! He was nearly buried in the back garden after accidentally falling on a baseball bat... 🤣🤣🤣

@Minster2012 we are all working from home again Altho I am allowed in (when not surprised by covid) to go sort post and bits in office - I'm one of the only ones with permission. So I assume it will all be home based which will be hard work - Microsoft teams and screen sharing!

Haha @paintfairy that made me laugh! Luckily for him it is extremely out of character, I wouldn't put up with that bullshit if it was regular put it that way - I may have had a long stay holiday at her majesty's pleasure 🤣🤣

Haha @Sunbird24 it most certainly did and he was a delight when he was asleep- I checked he was breathing a few times and managed not to smother him 🤣🤣 unfortunately he is awake now and waiting for the next ones to kick in so he is nice again 🤣🤣

@Vil10 definitely join the club hun, my mum was laughing at my ranting at 1am this morning Ranting about what a dick he was 🤣🤣🤣 whilst sat in the hospital car park - I have to admit I did laugh far too hard when he wakes into a door - it felt like great revenge for his shitty attitude previously 😉

Thankfully the eldest was a star for her PCR test and didn't moan once bless her I've managed to do a Tesco shop and now back home working to catch up on my missed hours being nurse/carer today.
So soon I shall be switching off the laptop (until sometime over the weekend as I have so much to do!) and enjoying last nights curry I didn't have time to eat ( with extra poppadoms) and milk 🤣 to ease the burning after and my Kristy Kreme glazed ring I got myself as a treat cos I bloody deserve it!!

Happy New year ladies- it can only get better right?!

becarefuloutthere · 31/12/2021 20:03

@kaylsd yes, a very good saying! I must remember that for next year. Love the sound of your announcement, please let us know how it goes! Enjoy ☺️
@larrythelizard hope you enjoyed your lazy morning, mine was too! Has been most mornings during the festivities, may as well whilst we've got the time off! A wagyu burger sounds delightful, I hope you enjoy it! 😊
@bez91 I might start calling the nursery the dancing room now, love it 😂
@Minster2012 yeah all feeling very real all of a sudden! Need to pack a hospital bag soon too 😬 we decided on a takeaway instead, can watch a film then too, although we've started a new Netflix series so I'll reckon we'll end up binging that instead. It's called stay close! Hope Dh feels better soon 🤗
@paintfairy nye is so overhyped but I at least like a few drinks at a mates house usually but I'm more than happy sitting in with Dh and heading to bed just after 11 😂 I'm a changed woman 🤪 good luck for Sunday and I'm sure you'll be told more once you get to chat to a midwife. I was told I'd get pain near the start but I can't remember why now, sorry.
@blackcurrantqueen I'm glad all went well with the scan and that you can put plans in place for her arrival! I'm glad you're feeling ok.
@2020mission oh honey, what an ordeal for you. I hope you're home now. 💕
@Lexber I'm glad he's home and hope you're both ok x

I've only got as far as reading around 2pm so I'm gonna post this, then watch the rest of this show then read this evenings messages later or tomorrow. So happy new year for now 😘 have a good one guys! Xx

Minster2012 · 31/12/2021 23:42

Oh. My. God. I'm. Sooooo. Tired 🥱 😩

Minster2012 · 31/12/2021 23:44

And. Uncomfortable 🥴

bez91 · 01/01/2022 07:00

Morning ladies, happy new year 🥳 hope you all had a good one. I was asleep by midnight as knew DD would have me up at the crack of dawn 😴 😆

@larrythelizard urgggh hope you've avoided it 🤞🏼 when is your scan next week? Glad the midwife has that on their radar already though

@2020mission sounds like you've had a really rough time of it. Hope you made it home yesterday and are feeling ok, looking after a newborn is hard at the best of times let alone when ill yourself.

@paintfairy we might 😆 I don't think the horse life of a salad diet and being out in the cold would suit me. That's strange about the aspirin obvs my risk is recurrent miscarriage but at my 20 week scan the other day the consultant was surprised the other consultant had said to stop the aspirin at 13 weeks, she never said to go back on it so bit confused 🤷‍♀️. That's strange, have you been fully discharged by the ivf clinic now? I suppose it's always something you can ask but surely once everything is formed and showing measuring ok on scans I'd have assumed that would be out of the woods territory

@Vil10 yes the same as a shakti mat! I have sciatica on and off, got it now a bit but it seems a lot of the advice is to not use in pregnancy- boo! The marks it leaves are ridiculous aren't they, DH won't use it he thinks it's like a form of torture! Hope you enjoyed your night in!

@Justanothercyster sounds like the breastfeeding is going super well. Go mama & Molly! Hmmm tough one on contraception. Maybe if it wouldn't be the end of the world if you had a whoops you could perhaps just try the withdrawal method? Then it's easier to just not when timings would be better?

larrythelizard · 01/01/2022 08:49

Happy New Year all, I went to bed at 10.30 as I felt so ropey...not the end to 2021 I was expecting!

Impressive @bez91...hope you can have a chilled day.

@Justanothercyster the problem I had with it (other than being drunk and forgetting about a condom 😬) is that I'm soo much hornier on my FW so found it difficult to not have sex that week: that's why we moved on to condoms. Maybe work out what the minimum gap that would be a problem is and go from there?

@Lexber 😂😂😂 you're a strong woman! Hope he's on the mend today and you have PCR results soon.

I assume she'll just make an appt for me to go and get blood tests @paintfairy but all the long winded form filling will be over the phone? I like in a small town and we're equidistant from a fairly nice sort of posh big town and a grubby town - I've booked a scan in the nearby posh big town, that 'at have been the error!

Hopefully just uncomfortable from unusual sleeping situation @Minster2012?

Minster2012 · 01/01/2022 08:54

Happy new year lovely ladies, bumps and babies! ❤️🥰🙌🏻

I haven't fully caught up, stayed up last night then had DH SNORING so loudly I gave up and went in the spare room at about 2am so I'm pretty tired here.

@Justanothercyster it is a tough and interesting one, I also think don't go back on contraception long as you wouldn't mind another and either pull out or just see really, I know a couple of ppl with babies born v quickly after another and they love it

@paintfairy my friend wasn't put on aspirin for our ivf, just me cos of my sticky blood so I do t think it's standard, but @bez91 im also surprised about the stopping for you as everyone I know who is on it has been told to continue it's so weird all the different views isn't it

I really needed a massage last night. Was so uncomfortable that my pregnancy pillow and I actually bonded 😂maybe it's the start of a beautiful friendship!

Also, I had a weirded out moment last night when female friend started talking to my tummy, addressing the little lady in there. I'm so pleased she didn't try touch me but it proper freaked me out 😬no one has talked to my bump but me (plus it's a bit weird someone else doing it anyway???) anyhow.

feliznavidad2 · 01/01/2022 08:58

Happy new year ladies, feeling ropey here - bit concerned, I'm gonna do a LFT and see, but the way it's been at work recently, I think I'll need a PCR too. 😫

DKDK123 · 01/01/2022 10:33

Happy new year ladies, this time next year our families will all have grown 🥰

How did telling the parents go @kaylsd?

@bez91 you'll just need to tell DD she can dance for the baby sinde baby had stolen her dancing room 😂

@paintfairy that's strange that IVF babies have more problems, I'd have thought once it had implanted and grown it wouldn't be effected due to how it got there. I wonder how they look at the stats like maybe statistically ivf babies have more problems but it's really due to the fact that ivf babies are born to a lot of older mums so may have more problems anyways or there are more multiples from ivf so again that could contribute to more premature ones being born and possibly more problems 🤔 interesting, but hoping yours is completely fine, any of my friends who have had ivf babies have all been perfectly fine and healthy so start reading all the good stats instead to stop scaring yourself.

@blackcurrantqueen amazing that you could see lots of hair on the scan 😍 Not so good that she's still breech but at least it gives you time to get your head around a section rather than it sprung on you last min. Youre so close to finally getting to meet her!

@2020mission, sorry to hear things didn't quite go as smoothly as planned, I hope that you're home now and resting up as losing a lot of blood takes it right out you for a while. However good excuse to eat lots of rare steak! 😊 Hope DH is looking after you and you're finally getting to enjoy all those newborn snuggles at home.

@Vil10 the further on you become the easier it gets to find baby with the doppler but when they're still so wee and have lots of room to move about you can be chasing it for a bit. My DH loved it with DS for bonding as he said other than the scans he felt it hard to bond with the baby as there wasn't much he could do, but once we got the doppler he loved lying in bed every few night and having a listen to his heartbeat and would chat away to him. I'd never use it if I was concerned at all about baby tho, I'd go straight to maternity triage but just as a bit of bonding fun they're good.

@Justanothercyster 7 weeks already, that feels like it's flown in! Glad to hear she's a dream baby 🥰 On the contraceptive front the one thing I would say to bear in mind is that getting pregnant within a year of having a section can be more risky due to internal scar rupture so you may want to be extra careful for the first year at least before moving to a less reliable method such as pulling out. Once Molly hits todelerhood that alone may act as a contraceptive in itself 😂

@Minster2012 wait till your bump becomes more noticeable and random old ladies in supermarkets start rubbing your bump talking to it! It's like when you're pregnant they forget the bump is actually part of your body, it used to really annoy me with DS! Glad to hear you've bonded with the pillow tho 🤣

On the massage front, I asked my consultant about massages when I was pregnant with DS as I had a voucher for my birthday. She said most massage places won't touch you in the 1st trimester as there can be an increased risk of m/c (tho I don't know why? 🤷‍♀️) 2nd trimester she said would be OK but only to go to someone trained in pregnancy massage as there are certain points they shouldn't touch (think she said they could trigger contractions or something like that) and that they should either have a special pregnancy table for your bump or have you lie on your side. And they also have to watch what aromatherapy oils they use tho I can't remember why. Basically as long as they're trained in pregnancy massage they'll know what they can and can't do safely.

Lexber · 01/01/2022 10:44

Why the F**K did I make the following comment last night "happy new year - it can only get better right?" Cos well ... Happy New Year to me!! 🥳

Went to sleep last night with sore throat and feeling wiped out so did an extra test last night and negative, but assumed it was just me being run down.. woke with sore throat so did my morning check in test ...

Vil10 · 01/01/2022 10:56

@Justanothercyster these ladies definitely put my mind at ease!! I think you're right not to go back on contraception, I've already said it's something I really don't want to do, and would it be so much of a bad thing if there were to be a little surprise sibling for Molly?🥰

@paintfairy it's one of those isn't it you try and just get on with it but pain in your back can just cause pain and discomfort everywhere!! The 14th isn't too far away but I know to you it'll feel like a lifetime!! Hmm could you see if you can book one for next week to put your mind at ease? No it is really hard to know if things are still going well in there, it is horrible but we can do this!! I know what you mean about the mum thing, my parents and sister are so bloody excited and it would just be the worst thing in the world for all of us if something was to happen, but I keep manifesting that good things are coming and I now keep seeing 2 pigeons😂

@larrythelizard when is your scan?? And how many weeks will you be?

@Lexber hahaha that is definitely karma!! Ooo curry and a donut sounds delicious, enjoy!! Ohhhh ffs!! Stupid pissing covid!! Guessing that's you going for a pcr! How do you feel?

@bez91 I did think if you'd be able to use it during pregnancy or not, my pregnant friend who's a midwife asked if she could borrow mine though, so not sure if she knew what it was? I didn't end up giving it her anyway because I forgot! My night was lovely Thankyou, I hope yours was too!!

@Minster2012 yes that is odd, I think I'd have felt awkward😂😂

@DKDK123 ohh that does sound lovely!! Maybe something I'll consider if I get to that point🥰 a lot of fancy spas near me do lovely pregnancy massages, I've bought a few for friends in the past and they really rave about them!

Happy new year ladies!!❤️❤️ my mum text me this morning saying "you can say this year you're going to be a mummy, and I can't wait to see you do exactly what you have always meant to do" and it made me cry🥺 we had a lovely night last night, I had a few little naps whilst waiting until 12, then fell asleep literally at 12:05 until 1 on the sofa, OH woke me up and I went straight to bed and fast asleep, woke up feeling brand new!! Also I'm 9 weeks today, how did that happen😳

larrythelizard · 01/01/2022 11:05

Feeling too sick to do anything so just created a new sidecar as we've filled this one!

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/4441412-Minsters-Sidecar-Bumping-Along-ttc-graduates-thread-5?watched=1

larrythelizard · 01/01/2022 11:21

Aww bless your mum @Vil10 😍

I'll be 8+4 but given I know I conceived a week later than 'typical' it should be more like a 7 week scan.
