@2020mission they'll let him back in the night surely if labour progresses? When I had my DS I was the same about 2cm dilated. They could've broken my waters but labour ward was full so had the pessary at midday ish and by 5/6pm was 8.5cm dilated so it can go quick so fingers crossed for you 🤞

becarefuloutthere · 26/12/2021 21:21

@2020mission best of luck lovely, will have you in my thoughts ♥️

blackcurrantqueen · 26/12/2021 22:43

Lots of scans this week!
I've got my 36!! Week scan on NYE
And I think our lovely @kaylsd has a private scan in the next few days too!!

@2020mission Good Luck!! Really hope this is a quick induction and I wake to news of a baby!!!

Hope you've all had a lovely Christmas and Boxing Day! I am currently shushing DD to sleep every 2 mins whilst all my family and cousins party downstairs - weren't able to be together last year so this year everybody is going hard and I am jealous. All my favourite cocktails have been made too and I've been missing out ! Though did have a little champagne and wine!

As of January I shall officially let myself believe this baby is coming and get to arranging the house and packing bags etc!!

bez91 · 27/12/2021 07:05

Thinking of you @2020mission 🥰

@blackcurrantqueen hope DD fell asleep quickly so you managed to rejoin the party, albeit a sober affair! Get togethers are definitely more special this year. Have you got much house arranging to do before baby's arrival?

larrythelizard · 27/12/2021 09:11

Gosh @blackcurrantqueen that feels like it's come round quickly (I mean probably not to you...!) that's really exciting you're nearly there!

So many scans in the next couple of weeks, we'll all be walking around with constantly crossed fingers!

Minster2012 · 27/12/2021 09:20

Morning ladies, quiet here, not been feeling great

I've also got a scan next week 🤞🏻 all exciting times

@2020mission hope DH is back now & things are gonna get moving

DKDK123 · 27/12/2021 09:55

Just popping on for a quick belated happy Christmas to all. Been staying at my mums for Christmas so it's been hectic but great to be surrounded by family. Just arrived home last night, quick change of clothes in the suitcase and DH and I are away for a few days for our anniversary (nowhere exotic just a hotel a few hours drive away to get some time to ourselves before baby arrives) so will check in properly once I'm back home again.
Glad to see @2020mission skipped the Christmas day birthday you didn't want baby to have. Can't wait to hear the news of your new arrival when it comes.
Sounds like it's a busy upcoming time for scans too, lots to look forward to 😊

feliznavidad2 · 27/12/2021 10:15

Hope you're ok @2020mission you've got this x

Kate105 · 27/12/2021 10:24

Hope all is going well @2020mission thinking of you! How exciting!

TSD remembered about how fun all night cluster feeding is 🙄 saw every hour between 11pm and 6am, when he finally decided he was done and I could palm him off on H so I could get some sleep... Now going round my mother's to look sad in the hope she'll take him out in the pram so I can fit in another nap...!

Vil10 · 27/12/2021 11:13

@2020mission you've got this lady!!x

Definitely lots of scans and exciting days coming up for this bus!! Hope everyone had a lovely few days, we're having one last lazy day today before we start properly packing things up, sounds scary saying that when we still haven't found a house😫 anyway quick question, I've found in the last few days I've had like a mild itch on my palms, literally only like once a day for the last few days, itches a little and once I scratch it it's fine, it isn't constant, anyway I googled thinking is it something to do with hormones or whatever and it came up saying about ICP?? Does anyone know if mild itching of palms can be normal without it being a symptom of this ICP??

Vil10 · 27/12/2021 11:13

@DKDK123 have a lovely break away! You deserve it!!

feliznavidad2 · 27/12/2021 11:27

@Vil10 I had ICP in my last pregnancy and have had itching already this one. It's quite unlikely to be ICP this early but it can happen from 6 weeks apparently.

Let your GP or MW know, it's better to raise it and get reassured either way. Just so you know, you can have it and your bloods can take a while to show it. I was really itchy from 20 weeks and my bloods only showed it from about 32 weeks.

Crazydoglady123 · 27/12/2021 11:34

@blackcurrantqueen I can't believe you haven't packed yet 😅 How are you feeling?

Ooh @DKDK123 that sounds lovely! Happy anniversary.

Hope you get a nice nap @Kate105

@Vil10 I had a hive reaction to progesterone in my first trimester. I got prescribed a steroid cream off the doctors.

Loads of upcoming scans!

My little (or not so little) boy is 10 today 🥺 He's gone to his dads today but we're having a football party tomorrow on a pitch by us with a few friends. Got a call from my midwife this morning and apparently I do need a swab now for Group B Strep so going in at 2 for it. Hopefully it comes back quick and comes back clear as from Thursday I'm technically "term" so baby can be born at the midwife led unit with my midwife.

Minster2012 · 27/12/2021 11:48

@Vil10 I'm with @feliznavidad2 mention it but I've had a bit and they've said as long as it's not uncontrollable then it's fine at this stage. How did OH's parents take the lovely news?

@blackcurrantqueen urrrr get packed lovely I think this baby might actually be real 😬☺️

@Crazydoglady123 nearly term wow! And you still look incredible

@Kate105 a very super sad face needed, you got this! I told you not to say things like he's sleeping out loud 😂

@DKDK123 have a lovely time away

@paintfairy did you come to a decision with DH about telling/not going to his parents was it? Cos you weren't feeling well? Hood you've not been too bad over Xmas

paintfairy · 27/12/2021 12:15

Well, it's all over for another year! 🤣 And next year will be very different hopefully for us all!
@Minster2012 I haven't felt too bad (which then worries me in itself 🤣). Christmas day we had bacon, tomato and mushroom cobs for breakfast, which kept me going. We ate dinner about 3.30pm and I really enjoyed it. Felt OK really after that. Yesterday we went to DHs family, but they eat at 2pm. So whether eating a dinner earlier somehow helps, I'm not sure? 🤷‍♀️ Usually I can't manage it but ate loads. 🤣 Luckily the others mostly seemed to have places to go and left around tea time. We stayed a bit longer and then left also (usually there until 9-10pm) so it wasn't too bad. I did have a headache (don't think I was drinking enough) and my jeans were beginning to cut me in half (not helped by not going to the toilet for a few days again) so I was well ready by the time we left. I came home and had a turkey and gravy cob, with DH whinging that I can't possibly be hungry. I am starving thanks! 🤣 Took some headache tablets and tried to drink a bit more. Today I'm shattered and didn't even get out of bed until 11am.
So I can't decide if my acupuncture Thursday helped, eating early helps, or the baby has vanished? I also worry too much sex has broken it?

I'll write my catch up separately i think.....

paintfairy · 27/12/2021 12:27

@Kate105 TSD/Dexter sounds a delight. I suppose if he only harms his own family then that's not so bad? 🤔🤣
@Sunbird24 what a crappy dream. I think we've all had them though. Its a stressful time. Not long to go now though! I have my fingers firmly crossed for you. 🤞
@Juno231 it does seem to go scarily fast! Is proper IKEA any different to British IKEA? 🤣 Is it full of absolute twats with nowhere else to go who are annoying? I can honestly say I despise the shop. But mostly because there are people in it. 😆 Not because I don't like what they sell. And in actual fact we need wardrobe interior and it'll likely end up needing to come from there......
@larrythelizard the constipation is shit. Shame it isn't literally! 🤣 I take lactulose every evening and it only seems to be creating 3am farts and not much else. Wondering if I need twice a day for a bit but its so hard to call!
@2020mission thank goodness for no Christmas baby. I hope the rest of it isn't too long and drawn out though. Its rubbish your OH can't stay.
@Crazydoglady123 your baby needs to hang on a bit longer then, otherwise you'll have 2 birthdays days apart! 🤣 No one needs that on top of Christmas.

2020mission · 27/12/2021 15:35

Still in hospital but he's here! Will fill you all in soon

Oh well done @2020mission what a lovely squish! X

@2020mission 🥳 Wahoo!

feliznavidad2 · 27/12/2021 17:12

Eee huge congratulations @2020mission he's gorgeous

Minster2012 · 27/12/2021 17:15

Awwwwww look at him @2020mission so bloody gorgeous 🥰 hope you are all ok

@paintfairy maybe eat food earlier then?

I'm struggling with my bowels too & been being sick a bit in the evening the past few days so feeling very sorry for myself, was sick driving home last night & was woken by DS for a drenched bed situation. Had a nice afternoon snoozing on the sofa though whilst DH sorted DS after his night out last night, weirdly that's only my second nap 💤 during the day so far.
