@Vil10 agree with the other ladies you'll be fine for a 12 week scan, there are certain parameters they can do it within and they'll squeeze you in one way or another. Come on boiler and baby 🙌🏼

@DKDK123 oh no, that's my idea of hell. We do the same and put them somewhere inaccessible so she can't just get everything out as when it all gets mixed up I can't cope 😂 thankyou I'm hoping that's the case with buying things

After my moaning this morning about MIL shes just text DH to say she's awaiting a PCR result. So seeing her tomorrow is very unlikely, I wouldn't wish her ill but I'd have much more of a merry Christmas without having to see her 🙈

Oh well fingers crossed for a mild case for her then @bez91?! Also I like the giraffes, DS had a good giraffe babygro from somewhere that he grew out of way too quick!

Just tried & failed to have a nap 😴 I'm so crap at daytime naps 😂then the window cleaner arrived

Quick update because my mum has decided to have her meal now!! So good day all round, I can tell my mum how I originally planned to because we have a lovely baby in there measuring exactly what I thought at 7w5d with a nice strong heartbeat of 156bpm!! I'm so so happy, got emotional obviously!! And the boiler is fixed!!!! I'll post a scan pic later when I have more time❤️

Quick update - will catch up properly later when I have a minute as not stopped all day!

Ended up at the hospital nearly 4 hours! 🤣 twins thought they'd have fun fidgeting making it hard to get measurements and checks so after quite a while I had to go for a walk and try again! But all good - both happy healthy and measuring well. All checks were fine so no worries or issues thankfully. Still both transverse and now facing each other! ❤️ def a boy and girl too as she double checked!
I had to lay in so many random positions and even ended up with a Second sonographer to get the girls spine as if not I would have to go back next week 🤣 she was wobbling my belly to make her move 🤣🤣

Good news is my boys placenta isn't blocking the exit so if they want to come naturally they can!

We managed to get to my parents house before the meal because I said we'd pick them up and take them, they were absolutely over the moon, my mum cried so so much and even my dad was tearing up and I've never ever seen him cry!! It was such a lovely moment, they both didn't stop talking about it and asking questions for the full meal bless them🥺

@Lexber they're causing havoc already!! So glad all was well though and they got the genders right😂great news about them being able to come naturally too if needs be!!

I'm knackered and so over being with my family already 🤣. Dad is only coming home from work at 22.30 so I can't even go to sleep yet! Weather has been nice though with a constant trickle of snow since I got here at 1430 🙂

The whole text your midwife thing I have to say I've been so lucky that I've had my midwife the whole way through and I have her number and message if I have any concern. She even messaged me the other week when she saw my name on the DAU admissions sheet. I saw her today and baby is 2/5th engaged. She's doing my birth plan this week (as DAU decided to slap a group b strep sticker on my book because I had it with DS) and I have to agree to being advised to go to the big hospital even though the risk is low and I've not even tested positive this pregnancy so little lady just needs to stay in this week so I can have my midwife with me in labour. She said today she's seen me so often it'll be weird once baby is here 😂

@larrythelizard congrats on the 3+. I've turned into anxiety central if I end up out somewhere with nothing to eat/drink. I keep taking snacks with me. 🤣

On a random note we've spent the afternoon /evening at our friend's and from when I sat down to eat to the end my left boob was soooo itchy & I couldn't scratch it 🤪I went to the loo and it didn't stop. It was driving me insane 😆

@Minster2012 defo seems like more ppl than last time getting this variant! Luckily it does seem mild. I got my booster yesterday so been nursing a sore arm today but feel fine which is a relief 😅
Are your parents coming to you at Christmas? Mine are (first time ever), I'm getting them to bring the meats tho, I'm not ready to handle a turkey yet 😂

Thankfully I was allowed to pee after the first attempt as it made no difference (3 weeks whilst there lol)
Boy still lower, girl upper. Heads face to face on my right side and bums left side. So it's bums they push out!
Both breech 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️ but consultant said she isn't worried at all as they could move up until 36 weeks - how?!? They will have no room?! So just plodding along for now.

Had chats about the fact I'm much higher risk for basically everything pregnancy related - diabetes, pre eclampsia, premature births so will monitor regularly and if I have any concerns at any point contact them ASAP. Next hospital appointment 28 weeks got GDT, scan, blood tests and consultation.
My girl is a poser, my boy won't stay still long enough for a decent picture 🤣🤣

@lexber mammoth hospital session to get them to behave 🙈 but glad all is well.....and that you were allowed to pee 😂 she was wobbling my belly lots too at my gender scan as baby was asleep and facing the wrong way, I had a full bladder and actually thought I was going to pee on the scan bed, just as well my pelvic floor muscles are still in good condition! That is so sweet they're facing each other, always melts my heart when you see photos of newborn twins holding hands and cuddling into each other on the outside 🥰

@paintfairy I'm sure we all told many a toddler horror story on the other bus, but you'd have been too focused on getting the two lines part that it wouldn't have sunk in that they baby would indeed one day turn into a toddler that makes you tear your hair out 🤣 To be fair tho, we're all willing to go thru it again so it's not all bad (tho when DS is in the midst of a mighty meltdown I do often question why I tried so hard to have another one, temporary insanity or something like that 🤔)

My poor Gran's been taken back into hospital which means she'll miss Christmas day with us which is quite gutting as her health's so poorly we all know its likely her last Christmas with us. To make matters worse because of this new covid strain the hospital have went back to absolutely no visitors allowed at all. So I feel bad for her stuck in hospital alone on Christmas day 😢 and I know my mums going to be upset knowing there's an empty chair at the table this year that while she's still technically here it will probably be a permanent empty one from next year, so glad for DS as he's at the age he'll be oblivious to everyone's upset and hyper trying to get everyone as excited about Christmas as he is so hopefully it'll take the edge off it.

I am not enjoying the toddler chat lads, TSD is bad enough at 10 weeks 😂 been up since 4, lovely cuddles in bed to take the edge off, until I moved him off my shoulder and found he'd been happily teething on my collarbone. The wee psycho has any number of teething toys but only body parts (to be fair, usually a finger) will settle him...

He is going to be a serial killer, isn't he?

Wow that's a long time to be in there @Lexber but good that they were thorough and good that all is ok. Love that they're showing their different personalities already!

@DKDK123 oh that's tough, and horrible she can't have visitors. Is she tech savvy enough for a videocall or anything?

@Kate105 I have various pics of DS chomping on my nose, was cute until his teeth came through. They come through really sharp. He may be bossy but he sleeps through the night so it's swings and roundabouts. This morning he was very upset as he wanted grapes but discovered they were sprouts...🤦🏻‍♀️

I second what @Minster2012 says @paintfairy DD is 4 but i don't think your sleep ever improves to pre-mum days. She was up most of last night with growing pains, refused calpol because you see 4 year olds know best and you are a mere minion.

@becarefuloutthere not ready to handle a turkey yet 😂 but happily handle a baby 😉 Sounds good though and lightens the load on you having to cook 🙌🏼

@Lexber ahh lovely, yes plenty of time for them to move I suppose! Sounds uncomfortable with 2 bums to content with. I feel loads more comfortable these last few weeks, I think baby has moved back as I have a tilted womb although belly still growing 🤷‍♀️

Sorry to hear of your gran @DKDK123 kids are the best for lifting everyone's mood ❤️ I hope she is on the mend soon so you can spend some precious time together.

We're just lazing around getting ready to drive over to FILs at dinner so a slow one packing. MIL still hasn't got her PCR back so looks like we'll definitely be able to avoid seeing her 🙈

@DKDK123 oh it really was! She rang me this morning and started crying on the phone telling me how emotional my dad was last night too!! So sorry to hear about your grandma, it's so shit isn't it as they get older and you realise you might not have enough time with them as you'd have liked!! But you're right, DS will definitely help cheer everyone up and keep your minds off who's not around the table! I hope she gets out of there soon!!

Well OH is just absolutely ecstatic this morning, dancing around to Diana Ross😂 he said it didn't really kick in and feel real until yesterday and how he's like bloody hell we're going to be a family of 5!! And he's so so excited to tell his mum today, it's just all so exciting isn't it, and the scan definitely put my mind at ease! Busy day today wrapping last bits of presents and making the Christmas Day cheesecake!! Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas Eve!!
