@2020mission have you tried the nipple tweaking in the bath yet? A few of my friends swore that's what brought on their labour. Fingers crossed this little one makes its own appearance with no induction 🤞

Minster2012 · 22/12/2021 13:39

@Juno231 yeah hadn't thought of that but you could have fun winding him up as translator? Do they have a big gathering in a manor house or something? (My bored imagination running away with me here cos they blatantly live in Downton Abbey 🤪) you just made me laugh with the mild London comment as my SIL was given a woolly bobble hat a couple of years ago & never wore it so gave to me she was like "what use do I have for that in London?" Now she's in North Yorkshire & she's like OMG I need thermals 😂

@2020mission jeggings are at Least a TINY bit thicker than leggings, & you can (perhaps) at least look like you've made an effort for an occasion, or that's basically my thinking, see comment above on freezing here, you should know in Scotland!! Good point on the "you chose to have your birthday then" I like your thinking.

@DKDK123 @2020mission Bloody hell if nipple tweaking brought on labour I need to keep DH away as otherwise I'll be giving birth imminently! Bloody sex pest 😂

I'm soooooo bored at hairdressers since 10am. Also h'angry now

DKDK123 · 22/12/2021 13:55

@minster2012 the nipple tweaking in the later stages is an actual thing. It stimulates one of the hormones that can kick start labour, so best keep DH away from them in the last trimester, tho by then you'll be wanting no one anywhere near touching them by that point 😂

Lexber · 22/12/2021 13:55

@Minster2012 officially half way, technically 17 to go ish... 😬

@Juno231 you go steady that kind of excitement could be too much for you today and wipe you out 🤣

No coats that fit here too so extra layers Altho some days I'm so warm I don't notice lol

I'm the same @2020mission with leggings, always paranoid they're over stretched and flashing my arse 🤣🤣 Altho at home it's mainly PJs and comfies 🤣 and working from home means I can stay in them as much as I like 🤦🏽‍♀️

Poor OH we tried sex and it isn't going to be enjoyable for me for the forseable I don't think - bump in the way and very over sensitive plus worry if bleeding after as last 2 times we did it I was at the hospital afterwards 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️ so just a "dip" he was happy enough but it was definitely more enjoyable for him. I think I could happily sleep instead...

becarefuloutthere · 22/12/2021 13:56

@2020mission hope all goes well at the sweep today! I want a natural birth too so I know how you're feeling in terms of wanting to wait things out and see but then also wanting them out asap!
@Minster2012 ooh you going for a complete restyle then? Can't wait to see the finished look!

Juno231 · 22/12/2021 14:06

@lexber just a dip 😆 wasn't the flesh light invented by a bloke whose wife was pregnant with twins and on bed rest? 😄

@Minster2012 yeah they're at the manor, usually a good amount of people, fire roaring whilst they play board games in the library etc. Plus they eat and drink throughout and my family are just crap at hosting, only mum drinks and they do zilch as a family. I'll struggle to even get them to watch a film with me! Lol thinking about it they never even have a Christmas tree. Not very Christmassy at all. Are you doing anything different to your hair this time?

I know someone who had both her babies on her due date because she went to the reflexologist the day before to kick start labour. No idea how that works but you are meant to avoid going to them for that exact reason so there's probably some truth to it?

Went to Halfords, had brunch (yuuuum), now I've got to wrap my presents, pack my suitcase and do a little bit of work as I have something due on the 24th and won't be bringing my laptop with me.

Minster2012 · 22/12/2021 14:32

"Just a dip" @Lexber that's hilarious!!

@DKDK123 I def need to keep him away then, with my boobs so big he's like a teenager and I'm like GET OFF ME 😜though I miss it so I get horny at least once a week 😝

No @becarefuloutthere my hair is just so bloody thick like a haystack that's how long it takes to control it. About 4 hours, £90 later & not looking much different. (Especially as I then put it up for dog walking!) Humph 🤪

@Juno231 well your local Halfords is clearly better at brunch than mine 😋looks delish. I'm with you on the low key Xmas my family have always been low key then I married into a huge family where they celebrate with everyone so it was a shock, but we've always had a 🌲 😞make sure you do clock off work & leave your laptop behind

And we are back to fleshlights
Ahhhh love our threads 😜

Vil10 · 22/12/2021 15:14

@Minster2012 yess the cards arrived! Very simple but I love them, just need that scan picture to go in them now🤞🏼

@Juno231 we thought that, or we were going to get a Christmas card for "grandma and grandad", but they arrived this morning so panic over!! Oh how exciting🤣 brunch looks unreal!!😍 When is it thst you go?

@2020mission I did think I'd be waiting a bit longer, they've asked me to arrive 10 mins before my appointment too, guessing to fill some stuff in maybe!

@Lexber just a dip🤣🤣 we had sex for the first time last week and I was like pushing him back slyly so he didn't go full throttle, at the end he went "I mean I needed thet but I wish you wouldn't push me back" 😂😂

Well you know how I was excited to tell my mum and dad tomorrow on my mums birthday? Well all plans are out the window now, my sister and her OH have tested positive for covid, we were also supposed to be having Xmas at theirs, so my mums now said she thinks it's sensible to cancel her birthday tomorrow so us 4 (her my dad me and my OH) can still go to hers on Xmas day! I actually cried, I don't know why, I just had this vision of how I wanted to tell them, the restaurant we're going to is my mums favourite and we booked a private area of it just for us 6, my sister (she's the only one that knows) was going to be filming it as I know it's something my mum would love to look back on, and now none of it is going to plan!! I sent OH a voice note explaining it and got upset on that, so he's booked for us 2 to go out for a nice meal tonight to cheer me up! Goddd I just want it to be tomorrow already and at my scan and everything be fine and work out!

Oh no @clolo that's awful do you have anything other than paracetamol you can take?

@Vil10 😞😞😞but I vote for you & mum to still go for a meal & tell her seeing as your sis knows she'll understand as it's the same ppl you are seeing Xmas day but it's a tough one

Crazydoglady123 · 22/12/2021 17:14

Thanks @Juno231 @Minster2012

@DKDK123 my son was up 1.30am, 3.30am then 5.30am last year for Xmas! He's at his dads Xmas eve this year so he gets that joy 😂

@paintfairy Next do some nice grow with you jeans

@Lexber good luck tomorrow for your scan. Yep all ready here!

@Vil10 I'm gutted for you your plans haven't gone as you'd like 🥺 Enjoy your meal tonight though and try and keep busy till your scan tomorrow. What time is it?

@2020mission I just read your update on the December thread (I like to lurk on that one 😂). That's brilliant news your a bit dilated! I'm sure I was the same on my second sweep with DS before Xmas. I lost my mucus plug and he was born on 27th (I was induced but apparently dilated and having contractions so they just hurried it along). I'm going to try the nipple stimulation and up my Raspberry leaf weekly. I'm too scared to have baths as the bleed happened as I got out of the bath and we'd DTD two days prior so I'm scared if that had caused it so that's banned haha. Might try reflexology in that case though @Juno231

2020mission · 22/12/2021 17:17

Aww @Vil10 that is a shame it would have been lovely to have that meal together for the announcement. Everyone will still be thrilled though, try not to let it get to you too much!

I'm back from the sweep and without even having to ask she offered to shift back the induction to give the sweep a bit of time to take effect 🙌 so it's moved to the 26th. She said I was 1.5cm dilated and head is engaged so everything is favourable 🤞 he could come on his own anytime now! For some reason she said I had a high pain threshold but it just felt like slight period cramping when she was doing it and not that different to a smear so not sure what reaction she expected 😅

2020mission · 22/12/2021 17:19

Haha @Crazydoglady123 love that your lurking. We all do a bit of that here! Hopefully it also puts anyone at ease who's getting a sweep anytime soon too as it's really not bad at all! She said they could break my waters now if they wanted as it was accessible so I'm hoping if it comes to induction it will be faster

larrythelizard · 22/12/2021 18:00

Oh that sounds positive @2020mission what's the betting he comes of his own accord on Xmas day?! 😬😬😬

@Vil10 oh that's a shame about your sister but at least she already knows, could you set up a camera on the sly?

Could well be @clolo - hormones are fuckers. The forehead stick can sometimes help a bit as well as paracetamol? Hope it shifts soon

Crazydoglady123 · 22/12/2021 18:39

@2020mission the newborn baby pics make me super broody haha! I don't remember the sweeps being that bad? I do remember well though going over Xmas "in limbo" when DS was 2 weeks overdue. At least as you say if you have to be induced your bodies partly on it's way

Minster2012 · 22/12/2021 18:46

@2020mission come on little boy! That's awesome she said she could even break your waters & let's hope we all have high pain thresholds, you know, for the birth in general 😂

Ps @Vil10 your OH is the sweetest

Lexber · 22/12/2021 20:02

@Juno231 we already got one of those to keep him going 🤣🤣🤣🤣 and tbh it definitely helped and was rated 8/10 🤣🤣🤣

The worst part is I'm usual the sex pest and at first he was glad for the rest, now it's the opposite way around.. he's the sex pest and I'd rather snuggle

Oh bless you @Vil10 I can understand your disappointment- could OH film and you tell her Xmas day?

@2020mission hopefully the sweep helps and he comes himself soon! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Vil10 · 22/12/2021 20:27

@clolo Thankyou!I literally have no idea when I'll do it because I'll still be seeing her tomorrow to give her her card and present and she'll wonder why I don't have a drink with her! Ooo migraine sounds horrid!! Hope you feel better soon!

@Minster2012 I've said this to her but she isn't sure, why is nothing ever simple😂

@Crazydoglady123 the meal was lovely, I'm now in bed with chocolate and a hot water bottle! It's at 2:30 so I definitely need to keep myself busy in the morning! When're you taking your next weeks digi?

@2020mission I know I keep telling myself that my parents will be shocked and so happy no matter how I tell them, I think because I had this vision in my head how I wanted it to go and booking my scan specifically for my mums birthday, otherwise I would've waited until a few days after Christmas! Ohh so glad you got that news!! Come on baby boy🤞🏼🤞🏼

@larrythelizard I mean to whole filming it thing isn't a big deal for me but I feel like my mum would love watching it back and showing it to people when she can, it's not a major thing, and like you say at least my sister already knows so she isn't missing out!

@Lexber I just wanted this day to go perfect I realise now I probably over reacted but I was just upset! That's definitely a possibility!!

Well the day has gone more to shit than I thought, the plumber has pushed back again until tomorrow!!! OH is fuming as you can imagine, he isn't getting home from work until 1:45 and then our scan is at 2:30, then we were supposed to be going to my mums meal, the plumber has said he can come between 12-3 we've said well we can't do that so he's coming at 3 after our scan, so OH will have to stay and therefore won't be able to come with me to see my mum at all tomorrow as he was supposed to be at his friends for his birthday anyway after my mums meal but the plumber will be at ours for at least 2 hours, honestly it's just a bloody mess😂

paintfairy · 22/12/2021 20:30

@DKDK123 jeez that's a bit worrying. No one wants to think they are dying in a hurry! 🤣 Born with 3 teeth? I didn't know that was a thing! Long tops and leggings do sound more comfortable. I am just glad I don't have to go into work!
@Vil10 freaky dreams. 😆 I'm glad the cards turned up. Not so good about everything else going tits up, but that always seems to be the way!
@larrythelizard I'm glad eating helped! Its a fine balance and also finding things that won't make it worse. I'm so fed up of it now and it feels like forever. So it's not great that it can go on for weeks yet! I thought vitamin D was always a thing? Can you use biofreeze? That's my go to for pain related things but I've not checked if you can use it pregnant.
@Minster2012 🤣 I'm not sure I have a bump. I mean, I do, but I think it's the fat that's been there the whole time. 🧐 I'm just mindful that most of my jeans don't have much room and jeans aren't forgiving anyway. So I think it might be a problem sooner rather than later. I literally own no clothes. 🤣 I think I would die if I had to spend that long in the hairdressers. What possibly takes that long?!
@2020mission I've got a fat arse and big thighs. 🙈 Fingers crossed for a just after Christmas baby!
@Lexber a dip. 🤣🤣🤣 I can't even stand snuggling right now, never mind much else.
@clolo I feel your pain. 😖

So, I've had a migraine that came on before 3pm. I was doing the horses and my vision went. Very unhelpful. 🤦‍♀️ I've taken paracetamol (twice now in fact) but obviously can't take much else? Now it's just a headache but it's annoying. Thanks for the stick reminder @larrythelizard - I'll try that! I really needed to go to the shop but I'm laying on the sofa. Could be complete coincidence but I swapped from utrogestan to cyclogest and I'm wondering if its that? 🤔 I had odd ones on the other drugs but nothing for a while.

Vil10 · 22/12/2021 20:34

also wow I can't remember who it was the other day who said they had awful trapped wind?? I had a rubbish sleep due to awful stomach ache, woke up and I was so bloated and constipated, had the worst trapped wind ever, had shreddies and a pint of orange juice for my breakfast and that seemed to do the trick😂

larrythelizard · 22/12/2021 21:10

Yeah I think it could be connected @paintfairy - I often get a bit migrainey around my period which I assume is hormone change related. That doesn't sound fun if your vision has gone. Paracetamol is fine (as much as you like up to what the box says) - Dr confirmed that when he rang yesterday (I asked about my back). Must be more room in your jeans with a 5lb loss?!

I've bought some gym leggings in the next size up in anticipation of a) Christmas and b) a hopeful bump!

Minster2012 · 22/12/2021 21:39

@paintfairy you should tell your midwife about a migraine with vision changes, that's what mine said, I can't believe you only have jeans! Living in jumper dresses & leggings right now like @larrythelizard said more because of Christmas 🎅🏻 😂

@Vil10 😣😣😣but think this time tomorrow you'll have a fixed boiler AND a cute scan pic 🥰alllll the luck

@Lexber and good luck for you too snuggle monster, looking forward to hearing good news on your babies

paintfairy · 22/12/2021 22:01

@Minster2012 I have had them before with vision changes, so it's not new. And I'm just a funny shape. I'm pear shaped so most stuff just doesn't fit. If I buy it to fit the top half then it's too tight round my arse.

Minster2012 · 22/12/2021 22:11

I still say text your midwife just so they can log it @paintfairy I have migraines too & they said it to me as a few can mean a liver thing I believe

2020mission · 22/12/2021 22:17

@Vil10 aww I feel your pain I've had workmen disrupt maternity appointments twice this year! They only offered availably on scan and community midwife appointment days so we had to rush back after 🙄 We also had a guy booked to come and do some jobs involving chemicals including silicone sealant etc. I booked the day off work, packed up and went to stay overnight at my mum's to avoid the fumes and my husband stayed at the flat to allow the work to be done. The guy then never turned up 😠 so I wasted a holiday and went to stay at my mum's for no reason. I mean it was nice to catch up with her of course but when pregnant I'd have preferred the comfort of home and no overnight 😅 I hope your plumber turns up and gets it out of the way 🤞 looking forward to hearing how it goes 😃

@paintfairy I had a few migraines with vision loss a week in the first trimester over a few weeks I thought it was never going to end but they soon stopped! I sometimes get 1 or 2 migraines with vision changes outside of pregnancy each year though so I wasn't too concerned as it was something I had experience before. Have you? Thankfully the pregnancy ones just involved the vision loss and a milder headache. In normal times I would get a worse headache, nausea/vomiting and pins and needles down one side. Hopefully won't last long! @clolo likely all the hormones causing it for you too. It will all be worth it in the end!
