@Lexber proper movements how exciting! I keep pushing down on my belly in the hope of feeling a reaction even tho I know its early, but not so much as a gas bubble can be felt. Then I remember DS fractured one of my ribs from repeated kicking of the same spot and I become not so much in a hurry to feel movement again!

@Justanothercyster you could try a local buy and sell site, someone may take a faulty newborn 😂

@bez91 ask him if he's still wanting another one straight away after the first week of sleepless nights he gets when baby is born, see if he's still so keen to do it then 😂

I've got my appointment with the consultant tomorrow, really not looking forward to it one bit! Getting the down syndrome results bit isn't bothering me it's the bringing up DSs birth again and finding out if this one will be following a similar pattern that's making me feel sick 😫 I really, really, really, really don't want to have to have another section under general and miss out on all those first moments and bonding again especially as I know this will be our last child, but I know the liklihood of them telling me thats how it will be is high and I'll start blubbering in her office when she says it 🙈 So of course instead of doing something to cheer myself up I watch OBEM this morning to torture myself watching other women get to have thay euphoria of holding their baby and seeing the partner cut the cord and hearing the first cries etc .....glutton for punishment 😂 Decided to switch to Christmas movies with DS, but as per my rant on the other bus that didn't work out. I'm thinking chocolate is the way forward today 🍫

paintfairy · 05/12/2021 15:41

That penis post made me laugh! 🤣 I actually wondered what on earth he was doing until I read the context.
@Minster2012 brilliant news about the scan. A girl is great! Was it you that said about sore nipples? Mine have been shrivelled up for weeks now, before I got the bfp. The pain is variable. But omg when I get cold. Jesus christ. I got really cold at the horses Friday and I actually was in agony with them! 🤣 Never felt anything like it. I thought they were going to fall off!
@Justanothercyster awww broken baby. Yeah I think nothing stays the same! But I hope by some miracle she goes back to sleeping.
@Lexber we went out for a cooked breakfast. Only had a small one. Felt shit since I ate it. 🤣 Its like it's all sat under my ribs. 🤢 It's made doing anything else difficult. Then we went to the range where DH proceeded to moan all the way around (his idea to go) about the people and the music. 🤣
@bez91 bloody hell. Let's deal with the first one shall we? 🤣
@DKDK123 I get that. Do they have to do it under general though? That's not the norm?

DKDK123 · 05/12/2021 16:34

@paintfairy, yea general definitely isn't the norm they only do that if they absolutely must as a last resort for safety. I knew early on with DS that it would need to be done under general, something to do with the positioning of the fibroid they can't cut like a normal section (tho my external scar is the same so it must be once they're inside it's all cut different 🤷‍♀️) and they knew I'd lose a lot of blood while doing it so have to work speedily so it had to be done under general. And they were right as I lost over half my total blood volume when they were getting DS out and needed a transfusion. I was upset at the thought of having it under general 1st time round but assumed once I woke up I could experience all the firsts for me then. What I didnt expect was not to remember anything from after I woke up. There's photos of me holding DS and DH told me later that night I demanded to go see DS again at NICU and caused a total scene because they said I couldn't go and started trying to pull all my wires and stuff out until they finally relented and had about 6 of them wheeling my whole bed and all the machines I was attached to down to NICU to see him 🙈 so I was obviously with it enough to make demands but despite that I still have zero memories from when I woke up till around the next evening, no matter how hard I try to recall it. Don't remember my parents coming to visit or anything! It really gets to me having lost that first day or two and it makes me cry the thought of having the same with this one. But I don't know how much of the memory loss is to do with the anaesthetic and how much of its to do with being so poorly from the blood loss. I'd absolutely love it if tomorrow they said I could have a normal section this time but I also know safety comes first if they think it's too risky to be awake, Im going to have to accept it as I'd rather be alive with no memories than the alternative.

paintfairy · 05/12/2021 16:46

@DKDK123 yeah, being alive is useful! 🤣 I think GA does make you sketchy with things. I suppose at least you did do those things, but yeah it's pretty useless if you can't remember it! I think it takes an age to wear off too. I have never had one as an adult and for my arm op I chose nerve block (massive mistake) so I didn't have to go through the GA nonsense. As it never seems that appealing (its more appealing than people drilling your arm and you feeling it though). I guess you will have to see what they say? Maybe this time you won't be so ill though and it might not be the same at all?

DKDK123 · 05/12/2021 17:08

Fingers crossed @paintfairy 🤞 Tho I'm still hoping for a miracle that I go in tomorrow and they say they've discovered a new technique in the 4 years since DS was born that means I can be awake, I'd give anything to hear that first cry and get first skin to skin cuddle and see DHs reaction at holding the baby for the first time 🥰🤞🤞🤞

Sunbird24 · 05/12/2021 18:51

Evening all, room for one to run alongside?

bez91 · 05/12/2021 19:07

@DKDK123 fractured your rib 😳 wow! Does he go kickboxing these days? 😆Hoping for the best outcome for you tomorrow. So does a lot of it depend on the positioning of the fibroid then? Hopefully things have come on since then.
I had a normal birth but also didn't get to hold or see DD properly for about 45 minutes and still gutted about that though we laugh about the actual situation.... The consultant said it's was the smallest umbilical cord he'd ever seen which when they tried to deliver her onto my chest (after an episiotomy) she got as far as the top of my vagina and I got several boots to the vag before they realised 🤦🏼‍♀️. Can't wait until she's 18.... definitely going to kick her in the nether regions for good measure.

@paintfairy my nipples have felt that way also, even a bit of material touching them is uncomfortable 😆 maybe you need boob warmers for when you see to the horses. They must be a thing

@Sunbird24 welcome 🤗 how many weeks are you now? I've lost track with all the succession of BFPs this last 3 weeks

Sunbird24 · 05/12/2021 19:36

@bez91 that’s definitely a story to embarrass her with when she’s older! 😂

Last AF was 9 Nov, and I’m 9dp5dt, so I’m claiming 4-ish weeks. Got a 2-3 weeks on a CB digital today. I’m just so conscious that every other pregnancy has started off strong like this too, and then broken my heart at the viability scan around 8 weeks - can’t imagine actually ending up with a baby in my arms.

2020mission · 05/12/2021 19:41

Hey @Sunbird24 of course we have room! Great to see you join. There's quite a few here who've already had their babies so nice to have more pregnant ladies here 😃

Aww @Justanothercyster how many weeks old is Molly now? I've been reading books that definitely warn you that they can change a lot in the early weeks/months so I'm not going to celebrate if the little guy is well behaved at first... and hopefully if he's a grumpy baby that could change too 😅 curious to know which baby book(s) you read? I remember you mentioned one you were working through but can't recall what it was. I've read the baby whisperer and now working through one called baby calm.

Thanks for your formula info @DKDK123 👍 I was actually eyeing up cow & gate as it seems to be one of the better value brands and if they are all the same really then I definitely don't want to throw away money on expensive ones for no reason!

@Minster2012 have you started thinking of any names for your little girl yet? I know I felt even better after feeling movements and the 20 week scan so can understand if you're still holding off on those thoughts until then! Only a few weeks until then though 😃

Justanothercyster · 05/12/2021 19:58

Thanks all! She just couldn't stop pooing last night, so hoping she's emptied herself sufficiently throughout the day today to stay mostly asleep tonight 🙈 apparently there's a no return or exchange policy with the smelly little ones 🤷🏼‍♀️ rude!

@2020mission she'll be a month on Wednesday, can't believe how quickly it's gone! The book we got is this: First-Time Parent: The honest guide to coping brilliantly and staying sane in your baby’s first year https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0007269447/ref=cmswwrcppapiglttfabcJGFQ46N2MREXGFGKG21A
Can't recommend it highly enough, no nonsense and very straight forward :)

DKDK123 · 05/12/2021 20:20

Welcome aboard @Sunbird24, I know it can be hard to imagine reaching the end goal after loss. I'm 15 weeks now and still doubt most days that it's actually going to happen. Have another scan in 2 weeks and know I'll still be holding my breath until they say they can see a heartbeat, but this bus has been tremendous support. We're all here to hold your hand all the way too.

@bez91 well it was a suspected fracture they didn't want to xray to confirm as there was nothing they could do to help it anyways but by god even breathing was painful. DS was only a wee tote too, 5lb 2 when born its not like he was massive but the fibroid had pushed him right up so he had nowhere to go but give my rib a right good battering with every movement. You know, the more I'm recalling DSs pregnancy the past few days the more I'm questioning why on earth I thought it was a good idea to go through all that again 🤔😂
Your poor vag as though it hadn't been through enough without some random boots from baby to finish it off!

@2020mission the wonder years book and app are great. They tell you when typical brain development leaps are about to happen as babies become more fussiest around then. I found they were pretty spot on with DS sometimes out by a week by general he followed the exact pattern they said so it helped to know each stage would pass when it felt like it was going to last forever.

@justanothercyster, a month already, that seems to have flown in! But yea you're right, no exchanges on the smelly ones I'm afraid 😂 Hopefully she'll have a good peaceful sleep now after her clearout

DKDK123 · 05/12/2021 20:22

Showing my age, the wonder years was a TV show I used to watch as a kid 😂 It's the wonder WEEKS book and app I meant

Sunbird24 · 05/12/2021 20:26

@DKDK123 I remember the Wonder Years too! 😂

Minster2012 · 05/12/2021 20:44

Late check in after nearly a day offline, @Lexber it kinda has sunk in I think, it helps that DS keeps saying "be careful of my little sister" all day but I'm sure that novelty will wear off! A bum or something pushing out WOW!! And it's def for the best without him near you though weird as he's in the house 😂

@Kate105 "is my baby broken", "can you die from sleep deprivation" and "how do I...? (Do anything?) was my search history for a long time

@bez91 wow DH said about another! Crikey! I'm done def, I can't go through the heartache again & I know DH won't which is why I'm over the moon it's a girl (I still would have been done btw, for the record!)

@DKDK123 what's the reason it would be general not local? Ahhh I see you've explained, but like me I think it's gotta be a case of need to do what's best and we soldier on. I remember wonder years too

@paintfairy yes it was me on the nipple chat, yours are shrivelled?! Wow mine are arriving in a room half a day before me! And hurt like HELL but not a falling off pain?!

Heyyyyy @Sunbird24 how you feeling? When's your viability scan? We'll get you there 😊

@2020mission on the names I have basically named her if she was a "she" from very early on, there's 2 options incorporating the same names but different order & I tried to talk to DH about it a while ago & he shut down saying it was too early but last night I said "well Kit's out then" (our name for a boy) & he said "well I'm guessing I'm just gonna be following your lead on this" and he listened so he's gonna see how he feels about either name but he knows it has to be one of those, it's how I've been trying to stay positive.

I tried to look at the wonder weeks app when DS was small, & my friend also bought me a book about "nurturing your child's brain development" saying "this book and wonder weeks is all you will need"...I'm sorry to say I started reading it and then put it down & never picked it up again, it was very "namby Pamby" to me, and wonder weeks I didn't relate to, so I just took a total "winging" it approach. He's survived 😂

paintfairy · 05/12/2021 21:04

@Minster2012 they are hard but it's like they screw up tight? 🤣 Rather than being flat and spread out.
@Sunbird24 how many times have you got to the viability scan stage? That's awful. 😔 I do hope this is the one for you. 🤞

lucyrp · 05/12/2021 21:08

I've got the wonder weeks app and it made no sense so far until possibly the last week when we're going through leap 4 and gosh she's a bloody nightmare 😬

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 05/12/2021 21:15

I felt like it was a sodding "leap" every day @lucyrp 😂

@paintfairy your nipples are shrivelled 😂oh the joys of pregnancy are real

I weed myself a bit in a coughing fit on Friday. Totes glamorous right. In my defence I was making my way to the toilet when the coughing fit ensued. Does that make it better???🙈

paintfairy · 05/12/2021 21:21

@Minster2012 I actually have done that way before getting pregnant. 🤣

Sunbird24 · 05/12/2021 21:39

@paintfairy I’ve got to viability scan all 3 times - first time there was a sac but no fetal pole, second time only one of the two transferred had implanted but the heartbeat had stopped since the private scan I had a week before, and third time both had implanted but one had stopped growing after about a week and the other had a heartbeat but was measuring nearly 2 weeks behind. It had stopped by the time I got a rescan 2 weeks later. So I do seem to get a little further each time!

@Minster2012 guilty over here too… Blush

Minster2012 · 05/12/2021 21:42

@paintfairy 😂😂😂😂wild wees though are the best OMG at center Parcs last week we walked to the car to go home & DH was doing a telephone interview so I had DS, lots of cars going home & I was desperate despite going at the lunch spot of course, so I put DS in his seat, DH was near the front of the car & didn't notice as I left DS's door open & went behind the car & had a wee. Oh dear there's no hope for me

On another note, SIL wants to borrow some of DS's old sleeping bags so ive just been into the bag labelled "baby linen" and omg was DS ever this small?! 😳 apparently this was big for him!

Minster2012 · 05/12/2021 22:17

Glad it's not just me @Sunbird24 @paintfairy
we are a cool pissing club

@Sunbird24 it's your time 🥰🌈🤞🏻

DKDK123 · 05/12/2021 23:59

@lucyrp @minster2012 DS was a very fussy baby so if it felt like there was a constant leap maybe thats why it seemed to work for me 😂 Either way even if it's only worked psychologically for reassurance that it was going to pass every time he screamed for days on end I loved it and I've already downloaded it to get me though #2 (moved to android since last time so don't have it saved in my apps). Whatever works to keep you sane in the early years is a bonus for me 😁

bez91 · 06/12/2021 07:13

@DKDK123 well here you are very much pregnant 😂 I also found the wonder weeks app pretty spot on but like you say whatever to keep you sane in those first few years.

@Minster2012 nipples arriving in the room before you 😆 that's me. DH eyes keep popping out his head, they'll have his eyes out if he's not careful. I've had this when coughing occasionally 🙈 never ever had any problems since having DD so I'm not sure why now is a good time to start I thought it was after childbirth. Back on the pelvic floor exercises!

Work are already keen to know how long I want off work, not even thought about it properly tbh as I never thought I'd get this far, has anyone else?

DKDK123 · 06/12/2021 07:27

@bez91 with my work you tell them when you want mat leave to start and end but it's not set in stone you can change it during your mat leave as long as you give them (4? I think) weeks notice. Have HR given you a copy of your mat leave policy, you might have something similar written on yours?

Work is going to draaaaaaag in today, my appointment isn't until 2.30, no way I'm going to be able to focus in work 🙈

Juno231 · 06/12/2021 07:46

Hi everyone, may I join? I think it's time I take my BFP chat away from the main bus 😬

Only 4 weeks today/13 dpo. AF was due yesterday so I guess that's one mini goal passed. So far the lines are progressing nicely (bottom one is today's) - I might just do one more frer end of this week just cause I always wanted a dye stealer.

@DKDK123 I think I earmarked the wonder weeks a while back so I'm glad you like it!

@Minster2012 wild wees terrify me as I'm always paranoid someone will see me somehow.
