Early Pregnancy - 4 weeks

Hello,

I just found 6 days ago that I'm pregnant (I know, very early 🤦🏽‍♀️) I am currently 3 weeks 5 days so not even 4!

Just made this New thread in case somebody is in a similar situation and finds comfort by just sharing how things are developing. This is my first pregnancy and have been trying for almost a year. It is extremely early to tell to anybody a part of my husband 😌

You're right on finding it extremely early. Dates are right as my AF showed on the 25th October and took my first pregnancy test on the 15th and it was so positive that I got it even with clear blue digital. The only explanation I have is that I might have ovulated earlier than normal - which a couple of times throughout this year I had a cycle of 25 days and also maybe I had a very quick implantation 6 days after ovulation rather than 8 or 9. It can basically be many factors but not impossible. Body can sometimes be very unpredictable I guess 😅

How's everyone doing with symptoms? I had a bit of one sided lower abdo pain just before the weekend that went, now it's back today and more of a stabbing pain, worse when I move/cough/touch the area. Trying not to stress myself out about this(also failing at that) gonna call the gp first thing in the morning and see what they think x

@aimeexwall I also have pains if I sneeze or cough, is it something to worry about?
Other than that I have cramping sometimes, nausea and the sorest boobs 😅

@aimeexwall right there with you, mine is on the right side but have been having random pain for over a year now and nobody could find anything there, so god knows! xx

@ccbt98 I have the exact same symptoms but the pain was really sharp so I panicked! Hopefully is nothing to worry about, it's been 5 years since I was pregnant so feel like I can't remember anything 😭😂

@Thedesirerainbow ahh hopefully nothing for me to stress over then! I've been in a really snappy mood today so wondering if that's making me worse. I threw a strop because oh wouldn't get my drink from downstairs when I literally just walked up the stairs. So went and watched 2 hours of judge Judy on my own. Am starting to fear for anyone that has contact with me for the next 9 months 🙈

@aimeexwall hahaha I am a bit of a pain without being pregnant anyway, don't want to imagine once this starts to kick in properly. God help my husband to keep loving me 🤣🤣🤣 love judge Judy!! You're like my double! Keep us updated if you go to the GP xx

Hi everyone

I got my bfp yesterday at 11 dpo on month 4 ttc. The line was very light but slightly darker today so I'm very anxiously waiting to check again tomorrow. Hoping to see some darker lines!

How is everyone feeling? I've had sore boobs which actually prompted me to do the pregnancy test yesterday and have had cramps on and off last night and today; very much like period pains but no sign of spotting or anything.

I thought I would be so relieved to get pregnant but now I'm just worrying about whether it will all be fine. I hate the uncertainty at this early stage and trying to think positively.

I'm the same, I had some spotting on the 7th but I didn't know I was pg yet and none since! The rest of my symptoms are the same!
The early part is so scary!! I hate how in the dark we are left 😖

@Bd1787 congrats!! The majority of us are in the same boat. Round 4 weeks and just dragging ourselves for first scan. Took a year for us to conceive and I completely understand you, dreamed to get pregnant for so long and now other worries comes in 😅

Morning all.

Do your symptoms come and go? My boobs are still sore but not as much as they were over the weekend. I’m getting waves of nausea but it’s not consistently happening every day.

I’ve still got a dull ache and feel like AF will arrive any second but no spotting or bleeding 🤞🏽

Probably all completely normal but I still feel like my body is playing a practical joke on me!

@Firsttimetrier I’ve had these type cramps for days, and hoping all is ok 🤞 I’m starting to think it’s just a symptom xx

@Firsttimetrier yes for me. Today I don't have any symptoms, any cramps, any nausea, nothing, which leaves me thinking is this ok? 🤔 hahaha I know sometimes is easy to fall into 'I want to feel sick and have many symptoms' so it makes me feel more pregnant, but really, every pregnancy is different and there are many woman out there who haven't got many symptoms at all and that's ok too ☺️ xx

Quick update for you guys, went to gp who referred me to epau, was told if they didn't call by 5pm to attend urgent care because I need to be seen, went to urgent care and they turned me away as "dr would only do another epau referral" done 111 online a few hours later as had a really bad spell of dizziness as well as sharp stabbing pain in lower left abdomen. They booked me in at a different urgent care, pain got severe and was seen, pregnancy test was still super faint but only about 4+3 going from my last period. Because of the pain I had they spoke to gynaecologist who said ectopic was unlikely but would like to scan me. Scan found unlocated pregnancy so bloods have been ordered, but also large cyst on my left ovary, blood, fluid in my abdomen and ovarian torsion. Thankfully the blood supply is still going to that ovary so it hasn't been lost(could possibly still happen) have been put on emergency surgery list incase things worsen over the night but due to speak to consultant at 8am and surgery asap.

Moral of the story is always trust your gut instinct, I knew something was wrong and glad I came to another hospital.

On the pregnancy front, who knows until bloods come back 😔😔

@aimeexwall oh what a night you've had, I'm so sorry. I had those symptoms end of September, it was my crazy cycle where I had a "period" and then immediately after (I'm talking 2 days after finishing bleeding) got a BFP. Very weird. A week later I had awful left sided pain and felt dizzy and sick although I was lying down. Of course I first thought ectopic, managed to fall asleep and the next day the symptoms were gone. Still went to the gynae cos I was worried, she couldn't see anything, said it might have been ectopic but possible resolved itself. Started bleeding several days later.

I'm glad you trusted your gut and got help!! Hope there are no more surprises and that you get the help you need today.

Thankfully I ended up not going to surgery as the torsion corrected itself, and the cyst was not an emergency to need to be removed especially when this early on in pregnancy. My hcg is showing low and progesterone is okish, could be a few things as to why they can't locate the pregnancy, one being it's too early. So back for bloods on Saturday, happen to have my booking appointment on Wednesday, then will be in for another scan provided my levels are a bit more what they expect 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Very crazy last couple of days but happy to finally be home in my own bed!

I'm sure it has been an absolute roller coaster of feelings and emotions, hope pains have at least eased down a bit for you and you can recover from all this intensity. Still having my hopes up for you to keep your levels up and keep that baby stick. Did they tell you on what levels were you? Hcg is 39 and progesterone 47. They said progesterone isn't too bad but hcg is rubbish. But I have about 5 days for it to improve to me kinda in line with where they expect. Just a waiting game now! Xx

This is my first pregnancy so feeling a little overwhelmed and anxious right now. We had been TTC for about 6 months.

Timing is pretty awful for all the Christmas parties I’ve got coming up so now need to think of excuses for staying sober!

@aspiring2021 congratulations! I’m also due on the 4th but sometimes 5th depending on what site I input my LMP.

I’m trying to figure out how to disguise the non-drinking over Christmas! I think parties where it’s standing will be easier than Christmas meals!
My plan is to accept any alcoholic drinks and then dump them somewhere and get a non-alcoholic drinks discreetly and hold on to that!

Does anyone have any thoughts on early scans? My first ultrasound is in jan and I don't think I can wait that long but not sure if it's worth it?
I kind of want to have a scan to make sure all is okay before we tell people at Christmas(hopefully) but at £70 just before Christmas.. I'm an unsure lol. Any advice? Xxxx
