Got my bfp this morning. Waited until my period was a week late to test as I'm so used to disappointment! In shock now, DD took 5 years to conceive, we've been trying 6 months this time since my period returned.

Misty84 · 23/11/2021 12:28

@eekness I’m 4+3 too🙂 I self referred to the maternity unit at my local hospital. My first antenatal appointment with them is on Thurs. It will be a run through of my history, future appointments and they mentioned a blood test.

The first NHS scan isn’t until week 12 so I’ve booked a private one at week 7 to check there is a heartbeat x

Irishfarmer · 23/11/2021 12:34

Are any of ye getting the flu vaccine? I was just reading on the NHS website that pregnant women should get it. I got it years ago when the place I worked in gave them to us for free but haven't bothered since.

Danani · 23/11/2021 12:34

@Cruz86!!! Hello sweetheart!! :) I had the most unexpected good news over the weekend! Thank you so much! :)
Physiologically, I'm feeling absolutely like I felt before LOL. In terms of bodily functions - nothing fun to report, nothing really is different yet.
Mentally, I think I am still in shock/disbelief. I keep checking my knickers first thing when I go to the loo, I'm kinda afraid this is some rude joke and AF will show up but I'm trying to think happy thoughts and push this off!

How are YOU feeling?? How far along are you now? :)

Danani · 23/11/2021 12:38

@Irishfarmer I got mine at the beginning of October.
I think it's definitely recommended that you get it if you haven't yet, you don't want to risk getting the bloody flu and feeling poorly while pregnant! :)
Speaking of vaccines, I imagine soon(ish) we will be allowed to book for the 3rd covid jab (it's currently open for over 40s only) and I'm definitely thinking of getting it, I have no doubts whatsoever. My only question is does anyone know if you can get it any time, or does it have to be after the first trimester? I'll ask when I can book anyway, just curious what's everyone thinking about it?

Cruz86 · 23/11/2021 12:53

Such good news! I'm so happy for you @Danani. It's good that you're not feeling any different! Hopefully you'll be able to cruise through with hardly any symptoms in the first trimester 😂 Yes, I definitely know that feeling. And the cramps at the beginning are very worrying. Like you say, every toilet trip felt like something was going to happen!

I'm not doing too good actually. According to my dates, I should be 8+1 but I had an early scan last week and they dated me at 5+4 with no heartbeat. So according to them, I'm only around 6+5 today which is a massive difference and would mean conception happened after I got my bfp. I have a follow up scan on Thursday but I'm not feeling hopeful 😞 xx

Irishfarmer · 23/11/2021 12:59

I'm in with the GP on Friday so I'll ask her about it. I'd say I'll get it. I'll get my booster when it's offered to me too. I think we are only on the over 60s and health care workers here and vulnerable.

@Cruz86 try and stay positive, I know easier said than done.

eekness · 23/11/2021 13:11

@Irishfarmer thank you, least the maternity clothes should look better 😂😂 I've spoken to GP and self referred so wait to see when I hear

eekness · 23/11/2021 13:12

@Misty84 congrats, good to hear you're being seen soon

YorkshireLawyer · 23/11/2021 13:22

Possibly me! Period over a week late but had a BFN last week. Tested again today and two faint BFPs on a FRER. If I am pregnant I must have ovulated late (for me) - I should have ovulated around the 5th-8th but there was only one, ahem, chance to conceive last month which was on the 13th. This will be a fourth for me if it all happens - sort of a surprise as we weren’t trying and were avoiding DTD around ovulation, but obviously am fully aware it doesn’t always work out that way! Going to give it a few more days before telling DH (if I get stronger BFPs over the next few days)…

Danani · 23/11/2021 13:51

@Cruz86 oh I am so sorry to hear that huni, you must be worried sick. I know I would be, but as the others said - try to stay positive, you never know, and it's unfortunately entirely out of your control... Sending you a big squeeze and I hope it is all well and you get some positive reassurance soon!

BTW, is it at all possible that you went to the early scan a tad too early hence the no heartbeat? I thought 6 weeks is fine, but someone earlier mentioned that 7 is better and more promising for the heartbeat. Maybe it is just that! I have everything crossed you get good news, hun.

Cruz86 · 23/11/2021 14:17

Thank you @Irishfarmer and @Danani. Hoping for good news on Thursday 😞 I did think I was 7 weeks when I had the scan, but they measured me a week and a half behind. I don't think it's 'normal' to see the heartbeat at the gestation they gave me so that's okay, I'm just worried that baby has stopped growing because of the difference in dates.

Coco9910 · 23/11/2021 22:19

Has anyone experienced cramping daily? I’m 5+6 (but probably more like 5 weeks exactly due to late ovulation) and I get period like cramps every evening. I don’t really get them in the day time, just when I get in to bed. They last a minute or two and then will subside and then might come back again a little bit. Has anyone else experienced this?

Coco9910 · 23/11/2021 22:22

Sorry, should have added that they aren’t as painful as period pains, a bit more dull. I’ve googled it and it says it can be due to the uterus and womb stretching which is exciting, but has anyone else experienced this?

Dinomama21 · 24/11/2021 07:28

@Coco9910 yes I’ve been getting cramps too, they’ve been like a scraping/pulling feeling now and then, but I’m noticing them more at night. Treated myself to an extra long hot water bottle, which is helping and super cosy for winter nights 😊

Danani · 24/11/2021 07:47

Morning all! I’m having a freak out, I feel like my line this morning is not any darker/stronger than the one oh Monday.
It is possible because I drank a ton of liquids before bed and have been up a few times in the night…but I was so hoping it would be much darker today. Does anyone have any reassurance?

Firsttimetrier · 24/11/2021 07:52

Morning @Danani I would say your 13DPO looks like a more solid line than 11 DPO.

Just to say I’m peeing on sticks left, right and centre for reassurance so I’m probably not the best one for advice 😂.

Yours definitely looks more solid than the test before though.

Danani · 24/11/2021 08:06

@Firsttimetrier it does??

Argh I hate to be this person. I wish I could just chill. My DH said today's line is straighter/looks more solid, but to me 11 dpo seems darker hence the panic.

Should I do one in the afternoon after holding? Or one tomorrow morning? Or just try to suck it up till Fri morning and do one then?

Misty84 · 24/11/2021 08:29

I think it looks ok @Danani. Maybe wait until Friday (if you can!!) x

swanswallow · 24/11/2021 08:51

Congratulations everyone. I got my bpf yesterday at 12 dpo, 2nd cycle after miscarriage so quite an anxious time and I'm regretting testing early!

Still don't really believe it and have ordered more tests to check. I will probably feel more celebratory if i miss my period due on Friday.

Coco9910 · 24/11/2021 09:27

@Dinomama21 oh that’s a good idea! I will try that tonight. The cramps woke me up last night they were a bit painful but I don’t know whether it’s because I needed a wee / how I was lying in bed. But the days when I don’t feel any cramps I’m like “is everything okay?!” 😩😂

Misty84 · 24/11/2021 09:29

Congratulations @swanswallow! How far along were you when you had your miscarriage? x

Coco9910 · 24/11/2021 09:31

@Danani 13dpo line definitely seems stronger! I did my 12dpo and 14dpo tests on cheap Morrisons tests and didn’t feel like the line was any darker so used a clear blue for my 16dpo test and it came up straight away and was so dark it made me feel loads better so I’d definitely recommend one of those 😂 I tested at 17dpo with the digital and now I’m going to wait until Saturday 24dpo to do a digital again and hopefully get 3+ weeks and then I’ve told DH I will try not do any more tests 😂

@swanswallow congratulations! So sorry to hear about your previous miscarriage. Sending lots of love that this one’s a sticky one 💕

Irishfarmer · 24/11/2021 09:40

@Danani the 13DPO line looks good and strong to me. Stop test you'll drive yourself cracked looking for lines getting darker!!

@swanswallow congratulations! I know the feeling, I MC'd for the 2nd time this year in Sept, waited for AF in Oct then started tracking OPKs couldn't believe I got pregnant 1st cycle! You should be due AF in a few days, I must say it was a relief to get passed that date. I'm trying not to worry or really think about it too much as there is nothing I can do.

I am smothered with a cold right now, hardly slept last night. I wfh and when I had a zoom with my boss yesterday she kept suggesting different drugs to help with congestion (none of which I can take) so just had to keep say "ya I'll try get to the pharmacy later" Hmm

Danani · 24/11/2021 10:01

Congratulations @swanswallow and sorry to hear about your mc!
This seems to be an anxious time even in the best of circumstances, you're totally not alone!

Thanks for the reassurance @Coco9910, @Irishfarmer and @Misty84! The fact that to your eyes it looks good and not weaker than 11 dpo, makes me feel a ton better! x
