@Danani congratulations! 😍 I've never got the heart rate measured either.. not sure it's that common to do that in the UK xx

ellie1789 · 21/12/2021 14:20

@Danani Congrats! I checked the heartbeat on mine and she said it 160 from memory but didn't write it down.

My lady and report also state no cysts, no free fluids and no obvious masses. That's good news - you don't want any of them

Juno231 · 21/12/2021 14:39

@Geriatrixia I am so sorry, what shitty news! Big hugs xxx

@Danani I'm glad everything went well, sounds like a perfect scan. I think they just check if your ovaries have retained fluid from the follicle, cysts etc? It's not that unusual to not be able to visualise one of them - they have a tendency to wander/get stuck behind things.

@Coco9910 I'm kinda impressed you've managed to never have a blood test??

Coco9910 · 21/12/2021 17:19

I had my booking in appointment today and it was all fine! The blood test was honestly nothing to worry about and didn’t hurt or make me feel woozy in the slightest! My partner, however, nearly passed out 😂 need to toughen him up before labour 😰 Got the date for my 12 week scan - 14th Jan when I’ll be 13+2.

@Geriatrixia I’m so sorry!! Hoping you have good news at your scan 💕

@Danani so glad your scan went well!! Isn’t it amazing seeing them! I’m the same, not many symptoms so it’s like wow it really is growing in there!

@Juno231 I know I’ve done really well to get to 31 and not have a blood tests 😂

Aims1991 · 21/12/2021 19:02

Evening all, so I just realised I've eaten some foods recently that I shouldn't have! Has anyone else done this and not realised 😳

RitaBee · 21/12/2021 19:13

@Aims1991 most foods are actually fine, even if many people say they aren't. What did you eat?

Firsttimetrier · 21/12/2021 19:24

Just had my scan and everything is looking good! Very much looks like a kidney bean with tiny bulges for arms and legs but heartbeat all looking good.
Surprisingly, measuring slightly ahead at 8+1 instead of 7+5.

Also got my booking appointment through for the end of the month and 12 week scan for the 24th!

Firsttimetrier · 21/12/2021 19:28

@Aims1991 I ate a tonne of raw fish and had so many mojitos a few days before I found out I was pregnant and everything’s all fine 🤞🏽

I think if you had eaten and drank something all day, every day then it might be more worrisome.

Aims1991 · 21/12/2021 19:32

@RitaBee fried eggs, coleslaw🙈
@Firsttimetrier Ano loads of people don't know there's pregnant for ages. I just panic 🙄

So I've got more pink tinge of spotting tonight. Not had any since yesterday morning 🙄 this really annoys me 😭

Aims1991 · 21/12/2021 19:38

Ladies, not had any Spotting since yesterday morning and just got a little more. So I went checking and I reached up a bit and had a spot of blood about half the size of a 5p piece 😳😳 when I wipe normally nothing only when i went a bit deeper

Luckyfamilymum · 21/12/2021 21:03

Hey everyone,
Just catching up on everyone’s news…
@Aims1991 have you Been in contact with the EPU? Or had any scans yet? Could be nothing :) but worth a check xx

@Geriatrixia I’m sorry to hear this stress & worry, I have everything crossed for you - let us know xx

Juno231 · 21/12/2021 21:18

@Aims1991 maybe check with EPU about the bleeding? Fried eggs are allowed? Coleslaw is so low risk - please don't worry too much.

A2331 · 21/12/2021 22:50

Hi, im currently 5 weeks and I have my first screening appointment at 8+2. I've read that they take blood and urine samples and sometimes ultrasound. Is it worth my partner taking time off work to come or is it just routine blood tests?

ellie1789 · 21/12/2021 23:09

@Aims1991 It's all about the eggs for both those items. If they're made using British Lion eggs then you're absolutely fine

Sorry to hear about the bleeding, I think EPU will suggest waiting to see if it increases in flow

Coco9910 · 21/12/2021 23:38

@A2331 I had my appointment today and my partner came with me. It is pretty much just routine tests but they do ask for family medical history for your partner, so if he doesn’t attend with you, just make sure you know it. I didn’t have a scan today so didn’t get to see anything.

Misty84 · 22/12/2021 06:47

@A2331 My partner didn’t come with me. As long as you know any family medical history of his then he doesn’t need to be there. It’s mostly about you.

StartLeo · 22/12/2021 07:01

Just got back from my dating and viability ultrasound. DH and I attended together and it went well! My baby is measuring bang on at 7+1, rather than 6+6(based on LMP, I should be 6+6, but based on my cycle length of 26 days, I am 7+1). It's one baby and the heart rate was 124bpm, while crl is 9.4mm.
To say that this scan was reassuring, would be an understatement.

Squiff70 · 22/12/2021 07:25

@Geriatrixia so sorry you'd had bad news. Thinking of you Flowers

So glad everyone else's scans and booking appointments seem to be going okay.

Does anyone know how early I could have a scan to see how many babes are in there? I'm only 4+5 today so I know it's too early yet but was thinking about the first week in January?

winkles23 · 22/12/2021 07:35

Hello ladies 👋🏻 I haven't been on here in a while (anxiety was getting the better of me) but thought I would give a little update. Had a second early scan yesterday and judging from my first scan date, I should have been 10 weeks yesterday but I was actually measuring 3 days behind at 9+4. The sonographer didn't seem concerned and said that dates vary in early pregnancy quite often so I'm hoping all is going to be okay! Saw our little bean dancing away though and what looked like them having some hiccups 😂

I think around 6 weeks would be the earliest x

Lovely to read through the updates on scans. Sorry to hear and read of people awaiting EPU
Fingers crossed for positive outcomes

I had my second early scan last night at 9+0
All is good and measurements have caught up
(Measured 7+1 at 8 wks and did worry even though nurse said this is completed normal)
Baby was moving and waving its hand, can't believe how clear and what you could actually see compared to my 6+4 and 8wk one
It really is worth waiting if you can - unlike me!

Yesterdays one was only because Oh couldn't make the one last week that my ivf clinic too so I'm glad we got to do another one

Measurements 23.40 9+0

@Geriatrixia

We had an early scan this morning - should have been 8+1 but she couldn’t see a sac or anything. She advised us to call the EPU, they can’t see me until first thing tomorrow morning.

I’m still having symptoms, still testing positive, but it seems like no one is in there. I was certain of my dates, so I’m not expecting good news.

@Geriatrixia I am so sorry to hear your news. I hope you get better news on the follow up scan.
Firsttimetrier · 22/12/2021 08:17

@winkles23 aww your little one is looking so human like! Ours looks like a little kidney bean with four peas stuck onto it 😂

Ours measured 16.6mm at 8+1 but it’s amazing to see the brain, little arms and legs forming. I find it so fascinating how they are so teeny tiny but how much is going on at this stage!

Rachae · 22/12/2021 08:27

Congrats @strawberrysummer19 @winkles23 🥰

I'm 9+1 today and woke up with cramping 😕 Haven't had any since 5 weeks - I've had pulls and twinges - but this is like period cramping. Just looking for some reassurance I think ... Has anyone 8 weeks+ had similar please? I had a good scan just Friday, and so can't believe something would have gone wrong so quick ....

But worried xx

Firsttimetrier · 22/12/2021 08:29

@Rachae I’ve had a tiny bit the last few days before I had my scan last night but I read it can be down to things growing. For me, it almost feels like I’m about to come on and some pressure.
