@Misty84 same here, I’m relaxing a lot more. Will try call today and I’m going to book a 7 week scan at the end of week 😁

Are you all waiting until your scan to tell work?

Misty84 · 22/11/2021 07:49

I’m not going to tell work for a while yet. I’m self employed and don’t benefit from any maternity pay anyway!
I’ve told absolutely everyone else in my life already though!!! But that’s because they all know about our years of infertility and ivf failure, so I couldn’t not share the joyous news with them that I’ve managed to do this naturally! I’ll need the support if things go wrong. My partner is the opposite though and won’t tell a soul until 12+ weeks. I’m too much of a sharer to be able to resist 🙈

How about you? Xx

Misty84 · 22/11/2021 07:50

(Ps. If I tell work too early they might start looking for a replacement and I could be out of work far earlier than I intend to be)

Irishfarmer · 22/11/2021 10:36

@mrsS21 I love the digital ones, they make it feel so real! I've a few tests yet, half tempted to use them just to see the lines again but I won't that's such a waste.

@Firsttimetrier I looked it up, it's absolutely crazy what the normal range for HCG levels are so try not to worry about how dark the lines are.

Irishfarmer · 22/11/2021 10:40

@Misty84 I'm a sharer, my family know about my 2 MC. My DHs family only know about the 1st. Altho he thinks his mam suspects this time. I am going to wait until my 6 week scan to tell my mam. Also def wait a while before telling work in that case. I will probably wait a good few months before saying anything. I wfh so it's not like I'll start to show or anything.

mrsS21 · 22/11/2021 11:07

@Irishfarmer it’s something about seeing the word isn’t it?!😆 I bought a big pack of tests the last time we thought we were expecting, used the two line CB tests (and got evaps!) but didn’t use the digi. Thought I’d treat myself and use it now!

I think I’ll only tell work once I’ve seen my midwife…or after our scan, depending on how I get on.

Misty84 · 22/11/2021 11:23

@Irishfarmer I’m so sorry to hear about your 2 mc 😔 It’s the biggest fear of course. I hope this time it works out for you!
That’s great that you wfh and can get away with not telling work until you’re ready! x

HA22 · 22/11/2021 12:07

got my BFP yesterday at 11DPO, first time pregnant so really excited!! according to my app im due 04/08/22. going to wait until around 6 weeks to ring the doctors and tell work just to make sure it's definitely stuck and won't be a CP
in terms of symptoms just sore boobs really! xxx

FieldView · 22/11/2021 13:29

Congratulations everyone! Can I join too please? Got my first ever BFP on Friday after over a year of trying - was quite unexpected! Did a couple more tests over the weekend as couldn't believe it was real. My cycles are a bit all over the place so online apps are putting my due date between 23rd and 26th July

Borgonzola · 22/11/2021 15:55

I've got my first midwife appointment booked and finally got to say the magic words 'I'm pregnant' out loud to someone who isn't my partner Smile I'm not telling anyone yet though I might need to tell my boss as I really am starting to need an afternoon nap Blush

Coco9910 · 22/11/2021 16:21

How’s everyone feeling today?

I rang my GP today for my booking in appointment and got told to call the hospital direct, so I did that and then got put through to the community midwife who said to email saying I wanted to have my baby at that hospital and they would send me a form to complete and return, and then I’ll get a letter with my booking in appointment date within 10 days so I’m still in a bit of suspense 😂

The heightened sense of smell has hit me today 🤢

fidget223 · 22/11/2021 16:26

Hi there!
Please can I join? I am due late July/early August. With irregular cycles I don't really know how many weeks I am but the dating test/GP said about 3-4 weeks. We got our BFP on Wednesday, with a ridiculously strong line! Tested several times since and each line comes up straight away and really strong - any ideas what this could mean?! I have had stomach cramping/twinges, sore boobs and feeling a little queasy but not too bad. Hope everyone else is doing well! Smile

Firsttimetrier · 22/11/2021 16:27

I had the heightened sense of smell over the weekend. I went to the supermarket and usually the smell of freshly baked bread is my favourite but it was making me feel so sick!

I’m also getting a weird soapy taste in my mouth and getting salvia like I’m about to through up.

I’m hoping this is all in my head though as I feel like it’s too early! I’ll only be 4 weeks on Wednesday!

Irishfarmer · 22/11/2021 16:27

@Coco9910 I'm getting a taste of fish at the back of my mouth every so often, I don't eat fish and it is AWFUL! WTF.

Firsttimetrier · 22/11/2021 16:27

Throw up even*

Coco9910 · 22/11/2021 16:30

@Irishfarmer oh wow that must be unpleasant 😩 I’ve been on two shops today and can smell cigar smoke on people, which I’ve never noticed before. I was like “Get me out of this shop” 😂

Irishfarmer · 22/11/2021 17:10

@Firsttimetrier lousy, the smell of fresh bread is amazing! Hopefully doesn't last long.
@Coco9910 also random with cigar smoke, seeing as hardly anyone smokes those.

Coco9910 · 22/11/2021 17:21

@Irishfarmer yes so strange! Today is the first day I’ve experienced this heightened smell. It’s very bizarre 😂

mrsS21 · 22/11/2021 18:17

Oh no! That’s never good when smells start to set you off! And fresh bread - that’s so not fair! 😆 but totally with you on the fish - I love it but the smell isn’t the best! (I’m visiting a fish processor on Wednesday and really not looking forward to it! I went last time I was heavily pg and nearly threw up most of my way round 🙈).

Got in touch with our doctors today, waiting for our midwife team to give me a call to arrange our booking in appt. Am I right in remembering this is usually around 8 weeks?

aimeexwall · 22/11/2021 19:35

Congratulations everyone 💖💖💖 there's so many of us I can't cope thinking of all the lil bubs 🥺🥰

I've had heightened sense of smell all weekend it's horrible 😭😭 also sore boobs and been waking up at 4am to pee which seems to be a new trend so also not happy about that.

Contacted the midwife and waiting to hear back, kinda expecting it to be after Christmas knowing the wait times, hopefully sooner. Also thinking of booking in an early scan because There's no way I can wait.

Irishfarmer · 22/11/2021 19:54

I'm such an idiot, the fish taste was from the pregnacare max tablets I started taking yesterday, Hmm too early to blame baby brain?

mrsS21 · 22/11/2021 19:57

@Irishfarmer 😆😆😆 this made me giggle!!

Coco9910 · 22/11/2021 21:20

@Irishfarmer 😂😂 use “baby brain” as an excuse as much as you want!

fidget223 · 22/11/2021 21:48

@Irishfarmer they taste gross don't they?! Why do they make them so nausea inducing when we already are feeling delicate!? 😂

Floslittlebean · 23/11/2021 07:32

Morning everyone! I would like to join too please Smile
Due around 28th July according to apps/NHS. Have been awake since about 4am again, glad I'm not the only one!
I should be 5 weeks on Thursday so will take a final digital then and hopefully get my 3+. I've had to ban myself from testing every 2 days, driving myself potty!
Anyone else have lower back pain? It's agonising :(
Those who have booked private scans, did you have a recommendation or just used Google?
Thanks much Grin
