Thanks @Danani that’s really helpful

Misty84 · 13/12/2021 13:40

Thank you @Squiff70 for the well wishes! Hope you are feeling ok so far.

@ellie1789 Glad to hear you are doing ok so far and I hope you manage to get your booster at the first opportunity. Get well soon!

Thanks @Danani that’s very useful and I feel more confident about having mine at the weekend now.

NooNoo88 · 13/12/2021 14:41

Hi guys, I've just had my scan and it's very bizarre news (at least it is for me!) it turns out my original dates were correct, so I'm coming up 7 weeks and not almost 11, and the reason for the bleed yesterday was potential loss of a twin! I was not bloody expecting that. There are two sacs, one had a visible heartbeat, one did not. So I guess it's good and bad news?! I nearly fainted when I saw them. Like @irishfarmer I will be back for more scans over the next couple of weeks to see what happens with the twin with no heartbeat. Gosh what a rollercoaster! Confused

Danani · 13/12/2021 14:44

OMG, @NooNoo88!!! What a rollercoaster indeed! I hope you get the reassurance that everything is going OK with baby 1! And I'm really sorry about baby 2 and all the pain and stress you've been through! Hoping that the worst is behind you and your little bean is thriving in there! xx

Thank you my lovely! Feeling so overwhelmed at the moment, I've been all over the place with emotions as I thought that was absolutely it and it was all gone. Let's pray for sticky bean no.1 🙌🏻
FeeneeTTC · 13/12/2021 15:29

Oh gosh @NooNoo88 what a rollercoaster! I’m so sorry for your loss of one twin and hoping that the other little bean is extra sticky and things run more smoothly from here on in.

RKEE · 13/12/2021 17:13

@NooNoo88 oh wow I bet that was a shock. Hope everything goes okay 🤞

Sorry about the duplicates can’t see how to delete posts 🙈

Juno231 · 13/12/2021 17:26

@NooNoo88 wow what a tumultuous day! So glad all is okay with remaining baba though!

On the topic of covid boosters - I'll wait until second trimester for mine. Some countries (incl Germany) say to wait after the first trimester so I don't want to risk it. Plus I got quite ill with my last two jabs and there's no way I'd want to get a high fever again when the embryo is so fragile so 🤷.

Misty84 · 13/12/2021 22:07

@NooNoo88 I’m so glad you still have a baby!! You’re still pregnant yay!

My early scan is done and went perfectly and it’s finally helped me let go of my crazy anxiety. So relieved to see with my own eyes that all is well so far. There’s nothing quite like seeing that little heart beating!!🥰x

Squiff70 · 13/12/2021 22:51

I've been reading a bit of this thread and see @irishfarmer was expecting twins. So very sorry to you and more recently, @NooNoo88 for the losses of your second twins. I honestly know a bit about how you both must be feeling. It's a crazy rollercoaster indeed. Flowers

Squiff70 · 13/12/2021 22:55

@Misty84 so glad your scan went well!

I referred myself to the midwife today. I also got a telephone appointment with my GP who refused - yep, REFUSED - to prescribe progestrone (for reference I lost twins at 19 weeks in 2019 and went on to conceive twins again who were born at 22/23 weeks and we lost our son neonatally - our daughter is still very much with us). Between those two pregnancies I had two CPs. It was a horrendous year. The GP refused to prescribe progesterone pessaries on the basis that I would have to be under consultant-led care, which I will be before this pregnancy is obviously high-risk. I was a bit stunned to say the least.

Misty84 · 14/12/2021 06:47

Thank you @Squiff70. I’m so sorry to hear about your three losses and 2 CPs, I can’t even imagine the pain you’ve experienced going through all that 😟
Is there any way to obtain progesterone now that your GP is refusing to prescribe it? Is there a private route you can take? It’s unbelievable!!

Danani · 14/12/2021 09:46

@Misty84 ahhh so happy for you! What a massive relief!!! Well done you! x

Misty84 · 14/12/2021 09:54

Thank you @Danani, best £50 I’ve ever spent!🥰

Aims1991 · 14/12/2021 10:39

Got my phone consultation with midwife today and not told a time, so impatient waiting 🙈

Firsttimetrier · 14/12/2021 11:08

Sorry to take this back to covid booster talk but I’m so confused on what to do.

My GP surgery is awful and I can’t get past the receptionist who just tells me to ring my midwife.

My midwife has said most women wait until 12 weeks as this time is so important and fragile, but there’s no advice not to get it now but it’s understandable as to why women wait. So a none confirmed answer.

So I feel like I’m in limbo.

DH is getting his on Sunday and we’re both off work from next week until 5th Jan, so less risk as we won’t see many people and I’ll be 12 weeks two weeks after on the 19th? So tempted to wait. Arghh! So confused.

irishfarmer · 14/12/2021 11:24

@NooNoo88 it is very confusing all together isn't it. And you don't know to be upset about loosing one or just delighted you still have one, I am mostly falling into the mostly delighted box. After my 6 wk scan when the saw two of them I was told to wait 2 wks but went back after 1wk, DH and I were getting too excited at the thought of twins and I wanted to kerb the let down as much as possible, as I had a bad feeling about 1.
How did they think you were at 11weeks without a scan?

@Firsttimetrier I'm going for my booster this Friday. Had my flu vax last Friday

Rachae · 14/12/2021 11:26

Hey @Firsttimetrier I'm waiting until 12 weeks. My fiance is getting his next week and we're just being ultra careful up until my booster. I think too early to risk it and not enough medical data to support otherwise. But that's only my personal opinion! xx

eekness · 14/12/2021 11:52

I have mine booked on Friday when I'll be 7+6. I think I would prefer to wait to at least after my scan but want to enjoy Christmas and protect everyone around me, it's so tough!

Squiff70 · 14/12/2021 14:20

Thank you @Misty84. It was so tough. Don't know if there's a private way through this. When my LG wakes up from her nap I'll ring the doctors again as very stupidly I forgot to ask for a prescription for folic acid (HTF did I forget something so crucial?). Need to book my flu vax anyway. Amazon seems to be down ATM so I can't order any Pregnacare either. I am so bloody tired and not with it at all.

@Firsttimetrier I understand your dilemma totally. I had my 3rd vaccine on Friday then found out I was pregnant two days later on Sunday. In a way I'm glad that decidion is taken out of my hands for the next six months but I had a very high fever over the weekend and was worried about the effect tht could have too. Ultimately you'll decide what's best for you but it's a really tricky one.

Misty84 · 14/12/2021 14:29

@Firsttimetrier I’m having mine on Sunday when I’ll be 8+1. My midwife, GP, and the private scan place yesterday all strongly advised me to get it. Already had the flu jab 2 weeks ago.
However by the sounds of it you’ll be pretty much isolating anyway, in which case maybe you can wait if that’s what you’re more comfortable doing. I’m still working over most of Christmas so need to protect myself x

irishfarmer · 14/12/2021 14:58

@Squiff70 try boots, I got pregnacare in the 3 for 2 sale, delivery took a while though.
