@Rachae that's so lovely to hear as know we are similar in dates and lack of symptoms

I have a scan a week today where I'll be 8wks
I've been feeling nauseous and so tired the last few days - so what a difference a week makes! X

irishfarmer · 08/12/2021 10:08

@GrapefruitsAreGreat for me getting early scans is due to previous MCs, I think a few others are in similar boats. I'd wait until your 12 week scan, unless you think something needs to be checked out like really bad pain/ bleeding.

Rachae · 08/12/2021 11:16

@strawberrysummer19 ooo they sound like good signs! I've still just got tiredness and hunger. Tbf.. I'd be quite happy if that's all I get. (With the scan reassurance) Not long to wait until your 8 week one now :-) xx

@GrapefruitsAreGreat I'm having an early scan just to put my mind at rest, and because I'm having to tell my parents before Christmas - I'll be 7+6 and I'd just like some reassurance before I tell anyone, as I hoping to keep it a secret until 12 weeks.

Family + Christmas is making that impossible!!

For those that have had early scans, have been abdomen scans or with a probe? I'm just gearing myself up for Friday!

irishfarmer · 08/12/2021 11:50

@FieldView internal scans. They normally don't do external until 8+wks but they might since you are so close and only do internal if needed. It really isn't that bad, bit uncomfortable but not sore.

GrapefruitsAreGreat · 08/12/2021 11:59

@irishfarmer @fieldview
Fair enough reasons.

I had a miscarriage before and had a scan after I started bleeding at about 6 weeks so I suppose I associate early scans with that so unless I start bleeding this time I think I would rather wait. Not sure that would make sense to others, but it does in my head.

Fieldview if it helps when I had scan at 6 weeks that time at the EPU, they tried external abdomen scan first, but then did a transvaginal one as couldn't see clearly. I think some women find them uncomfortable but I wasn't really bothered by it.

I am a bit worried about keeping pregnancy secret over Christmas too- especially if I am feeling sick..

Bloomers58 · 08/12/2021 13:02

Sorry to say I'm out ladies. Baby's heart stopped at 6+3. Best of luck to you all. X

Coco9910 · 08/12/2021 13:40

@Bloomers58 I’m so sorry to hear that! Sending you lots of love 💕

HA22 · 08/12/2021 13:51

@Bloomers58 So sorry to hear that love! best of luck for any future pregnancies xx if you don't mind me asking, how did you find out?

Rachae · 08/12/2021 13:54

@Bloomers58 I'm so sorry to hear this. Sending virtual hugs xx

Mabali · 08/12/2021 13:57

@Bloomers58 I'm so sorry to hear your news, thinking of you x

Bloomers58 · 08/12/2021 13:59

Thanks everyone @HA22. I had a scan a week ago and it was measuring behind and slow heartbeat. I just got a feeling in my heart in the last couple of days it was over so I really just booked the scan today for confirmation and sure enough, the heartbeat was gone x

Bloomers58 · 08/12/2021 14:01

My first scan was because I was hight risk for ectopic. The only advice I have for you ladies is please please hold off as long as possible for a scan. Any info you get at less than 8 weeks often just leaves you in limbo and makes you more anxious. It's been an anxious couple of weeks. X

RKEE · 08/12/2021 14:09

@Bloomers58 so sorry to hear that. ❤️

irishfarmer · 08/12/2021 14:10

@Bloomers58 I am so sorry to hear this x Not an easy time. Take care of yourself xo

Floslittlebean · 08/12/2021 14:15

Sorry to hear that @Bloomers58, hope you have support during this time.

I had a scan this morning with epu at 6+6 and also not the best news. Everything where it should be, 4.8mm but no heartbeat. Have to go back in two weeks but not feeling very hopeful. Had scan due to spotting.

HA22 · 08/12/2021 14:21

Updating this, those who have already had the scan, please add your CRL measurement if you were given it or any others if you have x

Bloomers58 · 08/12/2021 14:35

@Floslittlebean it sounds more hopeful than mone did, but I found staying mentally 'neutral' very helpful in terms if handling the news. I left it 1 week between scans. In 1 week, at 7+6 it should be about 5-7mm bigger and there should definitely be a heartbeat if viable. Ultrasound direct were cheap and lovely (£45). x

Floslittlebean · 08/12/2021 14:48

Thank you @Bloomers58. I had an early scan booked for 19th Dec, which I'll try and bring forward to a week from today, so I'm not having to wait two weeks for epu scan. I was barely holding it together with the spotting, so not sure I can manage 2 weeks uncertainty.

jokerflowers · 08/12/2021 14:51

Can I join please? I'm excited to be back in the game! I had a mmc on the 1st of October (was 8 weeks but baby stopped at 5) and I was super worried about how I would feel when I fell pregnant again, but I'm thankfully feeling confident and good. How is everyone else doing? I feel these next 8 weeks til scan will be longest of my life 😅

@Bloomers58 Im so sorry, this just happened to me a couple of months ago, it's absolutely heart breaking. Sending you so much love right now, try be kind to yourself. It's not your fault ❤️

Bloomers58 · 08/12/2021 15:16

@jokerflowers thank you and many congratulations for this one. Sorry for your previous loss xx

jokerflowers · 08/12/2021 15:42

@Bloomers58 thank you, yeah baby loss really sucks! Will you be trying again when you feel ready?

Danani · 08/12/2021 16:14

@Bloomers58 ahhhh I'm so sorry hun, sending you a big big squeeze!!!

Bloomers58 · 08/12/2021 16:59

@jokerflowers. Unfortunately my OH of 13 years left when he found out I was pregnant as he couldn't cope with the anxiety if becoming a father, so no trying again for me for a while I'd say. Sorry to shit on this happy thread with my news. X
