Thank you everyone. Going to focus on the positives and hope ot catches up by 12 weeks xx

FeeneeTTC · 02/12/2021 07:33

Morning @Bloomers58 - I don’t have any other thoughts to add to the other comments, but I think if the sonography had concerns they would have said something to you. It can be such a worrying time! Hopefully when a few more of us start going for scans we’ll get more of a picture of how varied they can be.

FeeneeTTC · 02/12/2021 07:33

Morning @rosewater20 and congratulations! Welcome to the group.
Do you mind me asking how you go about getting your HCG levels measured please?

rosewater20 · 02/12/2021 07:45

@FeeneeTTC I just asked my GP for them to be done. Its a simple blood test and the results came back within a few hours. I had some cramping a few weeks ago which I now know had to do with getting pregnant and that might be why they were keen to have them done but I have read many threads on here regarding HCG levels and so I think its a common test that can be done. If you do get them done, be careful not to compare yours to anyone else's because my doctor made it clear that each pregnancy is different and the most important thing is that they double every 48-72 hours.

FeeneeTTC · 02/12/2021 07:50

@rosewater20 thanks, that’s good to know!

Coco9910 · 02/12/2021 08:17

Morning, how’s everyone doing?

My cramps I was getting every evening have died off and haven’t had them for a few nights, but last night I got up to pee in the middle of the night and when I got back in bed I had strong cramps and could feel it in my lower back too. I’ve googled (never a wise idea) and some say it’s normal, but then I read it could be a UTI. I have none of the other symptoms of a UTI and this only seems to happen at night, but do you think it’s worth me asking my doctor to check me for one?

Misty84 · 02/12/2021 08:46

@Coco9910 It’s worth contacting your doctor and explaining your symptoms and concerns, just to be on the safe side, because if it’s a UTI you’ll want it to be treated sooner rather than later (I’m currently on antibiotics for one!) xx

Danani · 02/12/2021 08:50

Just wanted to add this here, for anyone who has not read on this and has an early scan coming. It would be a miracle if your date matches with their date at the scan. Just do not be thrown off by this!

What about early scans?

Early scans are viability scans, they’re not to be taken as dating scans.
Just half a millimetre at such an early stage can change your date by a week. Your 12-week scan will be far more accurate.

“I was measured at 6+6 (6 weeks and 6 days) when I should have been 8 weeks. Measurements at such an early stage aren’t accurate which is why they wait for 12 weeks to date you. At my 12 week scan I was back to bang on dates for my last period and was told to ignore the previous two scans, which they said were to check for ‘viability’ as opposed to dates. I know it’s hard, but please try not to worry.”

Expert Jan Steward, who is director of Ultrasound Direct and Babybond, agrees that early scans carry a much greater risk of inaccuracy. “At our clinics we scan from 7 weeks but at this time due dates are not totally accurate as it is very early stages. We always recommend mums get a definitive dating scan closer to 12 weeks as this will be much more accurate.”

strawberrysummer19 · 02/12/2021 08:53

@Danani that's very useful thank you, I have an early scan tomorrow 6+3 and I'm just holding for some reassurance more than anything due to the fact i have very little symptoms and that has made me worry!

I have one again at 8wk and again at 9wks
Purely because oh can't be at the 8wk scan

Then I hope we will wait to the 12wk after my 9wk (I hope!)

X

@Misty84 yes good point! I will try call them this morning. They try to ask us to request a call back online, which can take 48 hours (they never actually called me back last time) and to only call them if we don’t have internet access, so looks like my internet is going down today 👀😂

Coco9910 · 02/12/2021 09:05

@Danani very useful! I’ve already told myself not to get worried about measurements at my scan, just as long as there is a little heartbeat is all I’m bothered about 🥰

Mercified · 02/12/2021 09:17

Oh! Sorry,I'm just seeing this

03/12 - @irishfarmer, 6+2
10/12 - @FeeneeTTC, 7+2
10/12 - @fieldview, 7+6
12/12 - @Coco9910, 8+4
13/12 - @Misty84, 7+2
17/12 - @ChattyMum86 7+6
18/12 - *@Danani, 8+1 @MrsS11 7+2
21/12 - @Firsttimetrier, 7+6
7/12. @mercified. 6+3

Misty84 · 02/12/2021 09:24

@Coco9910 😂Your surgery sounds like just as much of a palava to get hold of someone as mine is!

@Danani That’s such a reassuring read 🙂 I’m now fully praying just to see a heartbeat and won’t be concerned about size if they aren’t.

Mercified · 02/12/2021 09:30

Few hours after taking my antibiotics this morning,I had contraction like pain in my lower abdomen and bottom while standing. It was so strong I had to lay on my left side immediately. I read that is the best position for it. I feel much better now. Has any one ever experienced this?

Mercified · 02/12/2021 09:34

@danani This is very helpful. Thanks for sharing.
Coco9910 · 02/12/2021 09:50

@Misty84 yes it seems 😂 I’ve requested an appointment so should hear back within 48 hours but going to call tomorrow if I haven’t. My partner thinks I’m being a bit hasty making an appointment because I had cramps but I’d rather get checked and be sure than leave it just to chance!

irishfarmer · 02/12/2021 10:32

@Danani thanks for that :) I'm in tomorrow, hoping just to see something. And also trying to remind myself that it is very possible they won't see a heart beat this early. The bloods at least should tell a lot anyway.
@strawberrysummer19 we're both in tomorrow

strawberrysummer19 · 02/12/2021 10:48

@irishfarmer scan buddies !
I'm exactly the same - don't even mind if it's too soon for hb I just want everything to be ok
How far along are you and how are you feeling? X

20viona · 02/12/2021 11:37

Hi all can I join? These are my tests the bottom two are from today. I have a 2 year old daughter and my EDD is approx 10th august! Haven't told my husband yet as he's at work!

20viona · 02/12/2021 11:38

Forgot to attach the pic 😂

Bloomers58 · 02/12/2021 11:53

If people would be happy to update their early scan measurements/results to reassure me before my next one at 12 weeks, that would be fab! Congrats everyone, and thanks for the comments xx

Bloomers58 · 02/12/2021 11:54

@Danani thank you, your message was encouraging. Xx

Luckyfamilymum · 02/12/2021 13:34

@20viona congratulations & welcome!!!

I also have a 2YO & due around the 3rd Aug :)

Curlywurly3 · 02/12/2021 15:23

Has anyone had their FRER lines not get any darker and had a positive outcome or is this looking like another chemical? I’m having lots of cramping and pulling sensations too

irishfarmer · 02/12/2021 15:38

@strawberrysummer19 I'm 6+1. Had a scan at 4 wks they saw nothing at all but could tell me I ovulated from the right which I thought was mad! Tired would prob be my biggest thing, although a small bit nauseous at times, boobs are sore too, which DH is complaining about lol how are you feeling?

@Curlywurly3 no help to you what so ever, I'd never even heard of a chemical before joining MN, are you late or is AF still due?
