@Londonista5

Hi guys, Congratulations on reading all these lovely dates and symptoms! Fingers crossed it is an easy journey from here and we get to see our little bundle of joys soon.

I am actually writing for a bit of reassurance... according to my app I am 6+3 today, I just repeated a clear blue (non-digital) just for the sake of doing as I had a spare one lying around and thought might aswell, but the pregnant line (which forms a cross) looks exactly the same as when I did it last week?

Should I be worried :/ any help /advice would be much appreciated. TIA xx

What I mean to say is the line is still not a solid blue, but faintly present!
mrsS21 · 30/11/2021 07:51

Can you get some pink dye tests at all @Londonista5? I’ve had several issues before of funny lines on clear blue… definitely get some reassurance from a Frer or easy @ home strips (found these to have much more clear results & no indents).

mrsS21 · 30/11/2021 07:53

Feeling really happy this morning, tested again - didn’t think I’d do another, but my symptoms are still so minimal, got a perfect line on easy @ home - not had one so strong on these tests up to now 🥰 happy Tuesday everyone!

Geriatrixia · 30/11/2021 08:33

Very cautiously joining you all 🙈 I’m 5+1 according to my app, but due to my age (41) and being heavier, I’m facing a 50% chance of miscarriage…Well, according to the internet anyway!

I was due my 3rd Covid jag but they advised me to wait until after 9 weeks - bless the women at the clinic, they were so excited for me 😁

Is anyone else telling their work early due to COVID risk? We’re in the middle of planning a work trip to Europe for when I’d be 11 or 12 weeks, and due to the new variant etc I’m not sure I should go… But it’s also VERY early to be telling them!

Luckyfamilymum · 30/11/2021 08:57

@Londonista5 … this is just if I were you, I wouldn’t worry! I agree, clear blue non digital seems to be the weakest for me too, never seem to get a solid line! Try a digital? For FRER imo. Let us know how you get on!

@Geriatrixia sorry you are joining us with such worry!! I guess try not to read Google stats as they send me into a panic too! Interesting what they said about your covid jab, been talking to my husband about the booster & I think I may wait until 2nd trimester (just my personal decision) but that’s only 3 weeks after yours anyway Smile
Not sure what I’m going to do about work!!! I work as a freelancer so I don’t really have any obligation to tell…. At all! But think I will wait to tell my main client till about 20 weeks, purely because it doesn’t affect me.
But as you are having to travel I can see that’s a bit of a pickle… so what you feel comfortable with, are you close with your boss/colleagues?

Mercified · 30/11/2021 08:57

I'm five weeks gone, after four years of trying. Got the positive line few days before my wedding anniversary. It's a miracle baby...

Luckyfamilymum · 30/11/2021 08:58

Wonderful to hear @MrsS11, everyone please share your little wins!! X

Mercified · 30/11/2021 09:24

I did urine culture on Wednesday, discovered I have UTI (heavy growth of ecoli and sep) Placed on antibiotics. I'm really worried about my baby. Any one experienced this?

Irishfarmer · 30/11/2021 09:26

@Geriatrixia I would probably say it to a manager and get out of going. It would be nice if it's a manager you like but even if it's one that annoys you I'd be approaching someone I thought would be most discreet. I wfh so not sure when I will tell my manager, I'll give her a good bit of notice though. It's a small company so I'm not sure what way she will want to do it, but want to give her plenty of time to sort it out.

Irishfarmer · 30/11/2021 09:30

@Mercified What a wonderful anniversary present! Try not to worry about the UTI, I haven't had one pregnant but have had a good few in my time. They are nasty! The doctor wouldn't have given you antibiotics if they thought it was too high of a risk factor. I got something like this in the pharmacy the last time too www.amazon.co.uk/Biona-Organic-Cranberry-Super-Juice/dp/B00C87I7U8/ref=asc_df_B00C87I7U8/?hvlocphy=20487&linkCode=df0&hvptwo&psc=1&psc=1&hvnetw=g&hvadid=310620140344&hvpone&hvlocint&th=1&hvpos&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl&hvqmt&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&hvtargid=pla-562842861346&hvrand=1744179055386857072
Not sure if it helped, might have speed it up I cant really remember, but the pharmacist said no point in drinking ocean spray etc

Coco9910 · 30/11/2021 09:31

What vitamins is everyone taking? I’m just taking the Pregnacare ones, with the orange label. I believe it has the correct dosage of everything I should be taking, but just need others opinions?

@Londonista5 have you done a Clearblue digital test that tells you the weeks? I’ve told myself I’m not doing any more tests now I’ve got my 3+ weeks on a digital..especially after reading about the hook effect!

@mrsS21 ahh lovely! It’s so nice to see isn’t it! I only did 3 tests with lines as I didn’t want to start comparing the lines and if they were getting darker and worry myself 🙈

@Geriatrixia welcome!! I wouldn’t believe everything that’s on the internet! And on the flip side, it’s a 50% chance of having a happy and healthy baby! I hope you have a healthy pregnancy 💕 I think, if everything continues to progress, I will wait until I’m 12 weeks for my booster jab. But that will be January when I imagine they will be offered to my age anyway (I’m 31).

Coco9910 · 30/11/2021 09:32

@Mercified congratulations! 💕

chloeandco · 30/11/2021 09:34

@Coco9910 I take the Wild Nutrition Pregnancy supplement and an omega 3 called "Mums and Bumps" by Bare Biology. They're not cheap but don't make me feel sick like others (pregnacare etc) and have served me well for a couple of years now through TTC, pregnancy, and BF while TTC.

FieldView · 30/11/2021 09:52

I'm just taking folic acid and vitamin D supplements, and then generally trying to eat a better!

Bit of a silly question, but is there some significance in seeing 3+ weeks on the clearblue weeks tests? Is it just a positive sign that things are moving in the right direction? I've got one at home but haven't done it yet...

@Geriatrixia I would definitely try and tip someone off at work to get out of going if it makes you uncomfortable. I'm planning on telling my employer as soon as I've had the 12 week scan (assuming all is well) - my workplace is getting a little cocky with large gatherings and unnecessary trips to London etc which can make me a bit uncomfortable. It's not a very "covid secure" environment at all! I would definitely speak up early if they wanted me to go to Europe (unless of course, I wanted to go 😂)

strawberrysummer19 · 30/11/2021 10:03

Hi everyone, I'm 6wks today so due end July.

@Londonista5 I had lovely strong line tests at official testing day, nice and strong. Then had a nice strong beta test at 2230 so all was looking good. Stupidly used a clearblue digital (after getting 3+) 4 days later as my symptoms seemed to have disappeared! Thinking I'd get reassurance but nope it went down to 2-3 wks so now sent me into a state of panic since Sunday!! X

strawberrysummer19 · 30/11/2021 10:05

@Coco9910 I didn't even know about Thai hook effect until someone mentioned it on another thread! But I was only 5+4 when I did it so not convinced that's the case for me.
I don't blame you not testing again, wish I didn't

I now don't feel im enjoying this part and I didn't want to be like this!

Vit wise I'm taking pregnacare with omega 3 vit d vit c supplement and a probiotic x

Londonista5 · 30/11/2021 10:13

Yikes. This is what I mean! Lol I did a digital last week and it read 3+ ... I am way too scared to repeat this now! So I think I will try and give it a rest until early baby scan. This waiting is turning out to be horrendous!

Wish you well x x

HA22 · 30/11/2021 10:22

@Luckyfamilymum

Welcome to all the new Mummies to be! Loving seeing all the different due dates pouring in Smile

@Mummy592 I’m sorry to hear about your little girl, lots of virtual hugs & also congrats on this pregnancy!!

@HA22 yes!! Low pressure sufferer here! But I must admit, it didn’t affect my last pregnancy so hoping it’s the same here? - how have you been feeling?

Agree about the thirst, I go from extremely thirsty to extremely hydrated… to needing a wee and repeat!

Okay that's good. I've just been feeling a bit dizzy getting up quick especially if I haven't drank much water and randomly feel like I'm about to collapse while at work. Not sure whether that's due to low BP or lack of iron. This is my first pregnancy so not sure what to expect
Bd1787 · 30/11/2021 10:22

Hi all. I'm currently 4w days and due 5th august.

I got my first positive a week ago and since then have been doing the cheap strip tests every couple of days and the line has so far been getting darker. I also have a clear blue date test which I'm saving until next week when I'll (hopefully) see a 3+ for reassurance.

I has an appointment with the nurse this morning to book me in for midwife etc and she gave me my flu jab. So just have to wait to hear from the midwife now. I'm going to book a private early scan before Christmas though to check all is well so I can tell my family on Christmas Day.

This is my first pregnancy so I'm very anxious that something will go wrong. Ive been having period like cramps on and off since I found out but no spotting at all. Today I've had a few sharp twinges in my lower abdomen- has anyone else experienced this? I really wish I could enjoy and be happy but I'm finding it all very stressful so far.

Beautyangel1 · 30/11/2021 10:27

Hi everyone,

I took a clear blue digital last Wednesday and got a positive pregnant result saying 2-3 weeks. This Saturday I will be six weeks. Would you advise doing another test to see whether I get 3+?

I don't know when I should stop testing? I feel slightly anxious. Xx

strawberrysummer19 · 30/11/2021 10:50

@Bd1787 congrats! I have had dull ache pains on and off since 2ww - it's died down a bit now

@Beautyangel1 I don't know as I had a bad experience - see my post below so for me I'm staying away from them! X

I have a early scan this Friday so hoping all is ok xx

Misty84 · 30/11/2021 11:14

@Mercified I’ve been very unwell with a UTI all week, finally got antibiotics yesterday and already feeling much better- they are miracle drugs!! Both the midwife and GP assured me they are safe. I hope the little one was well protected 🙏

@Coco9910 I’m taking Vit D, Omega 3 and my prenatal.

@Geriatrixia I’ve also convinced myself I have double the miscarriage rate due to my partner’s very high sperm fragmentation and that’s what Dr Google says!🤦‍♀️

@strawberrysummer19 That’s so worrying, I hope your scan gives you some reassurance on Friday 🙏 I’m definitely not testing again after reading your story!

Interesting to hear people’s thoughts on the flu jab and Covid booster. Think I’ll book the flu jab (as the midwife told me to) but wait some more weeks before the booster. It’s hard to know what to do!

Is anyone taking progesterone suppositories to support their pregnancy? Saw the news this morning and that it can help prevent miscarriages if progesterone levels are low. But I have no idea what my progesterone levels are 🤷‍♀️ (I already have boxes from my failed ivf round- never got to use them).

As a first timer I’m finding this all quite stressful and each day feels like a week, how am I still only in my 5th week?! It’s crawling past, the safe zone is forever away!

Coco9910 · 30/11/2021 11:51

@chloeandco I’ll have a look at those, thanks! Luckily the Pregnacare haven’t made me feel sick so far, but I take them just after I’ve had my evening meal so I think that helps.

@FieldView I think my current pregnacare ones have nanotubes vitamin D and folic acid in so I’m hoping I’m covered for those. Going to dig out the box in a minute and look 😂 For me, doing the Clearblue digital was just for reassurance that it had increased from 2-3 weeks to 3+ so I know it was developing in there. But I’m now going to try avoid doing any more tests 😂

@strawberrysummer19 it may be down to the time of day you did the test and how diluted your urine was. It’s so hard to not over animalise everything isn’t it. Try not to worry 💕

@Bd1787 I had cramps from when I found out (2 weeks ago) and they have only just stopped over the last couple of days. I read that it is the uterus stretching to accommodate the baby so they not to worry about it. I found mine was mainly at night so wasn’t sure if it was how I was lying, and would also get worse when I needed a wee.

@Beautyangel1 if you have another test, I would do it if I were you, but if you don’t, don’t buy one. Just trust that everything is fine if you aren’t bleeding and in pain. I know easier said than done!

@Misty84 thank you! I still need to look into the flu jab but unsure on how to do about booking it.

strawberrysummer19 · 30/11/2021 11:55

@Coco9910 that's very true it was mid morning and my bladder is so weak so I'm going to the toilet lots - however the other tests were done with the same - not FMU ( I'm not lucky to have a bladder that holds - I'm up 2/3 times every night) so I did drink lots as trying to keep my fluids up
Yes exactly that I am holding on to all the positivity I can until Friday xx

irishfarmer · 30/11/2021 12:01

@Coco9910 I'm taking pregnacare max, it is everything you need, it is 3 pills though! I take just after lunch and hasn't made me sick. I did get a really weird fish after taste from it once but I had it on an empty stomach. I'm still taking folic, but I don't think I'll get another bottle when this one is empty. I'm probably just peeing it all right back out as it is!!

@Misty84 I asked about progesterone at the GP last week. She said my levels were good and that the EPU would do bloods again and decide if I needed to take anything, they were low the last time I mc'd. I'd check with GP/ Midwife before taking a supplement for it. Can you get bloods done at your GP? Your body should naturally be producing enough progesterone to sustain a healthy pregnancy.
