@FieldView we told our parents at 4 weeks plus my husband brothers and two of our really close friends who have had babies.

We would want their support regardless of the outcome. Plus, it’s so lovely being able to chat freely to my best friend as she’s been through it all and has given me lots of reassurance when I frantically WhatsApp her that all my symptoms have disappeared 😂.

Misty84 · 29/11/2021 09:43

I also have the dramatic mother @FieldView!🙃

Irishfarmer · 29/11/2021 10:03

I'm going to tell my mam after my scan this Friday, probably leave it a little while before I tell the rest of my family.
I still don't really have any symptoms. The cold has finally cleared up though that christ! It was a bad one, I haven't been floored by one in years.
The GP said when it had cleared to go in for my flu vax, so I'll book that this week. Also should have my booster in a few weeks. Anyone else getting it?

FieldView · 29/11/2021 10:12

Is this an early scan @Irishfarmer? I'm looking at booking one but it'll have to be around 7 weeks to squeeze it in before I tell the parents - it feels pretty early!

I don't really have any symptoms which makes the whole hing quite strange. I'm getting the odd wave of nausea but that's about it. I was invited for my covid booster just before I got the BFP so will definitely be getting it. The rollout is just a bit rubbish where I am though so waiting for a centre to open up closer to home.

@Firsttimetrier that's so lovely that you've got a network of people!! I've only told my personal trainer so far, and that's only because I thought he might not want to train me anymore 🙈

@Misty84 glad to know I'm not the only one!! She's going to be beside herself when she finds out. I'm not sure I'm ready for it! 😂

Danani · 29/11/2021 10:17

Good morning and welcome to all of the new additions! :)

How are we all?

@Irishfarmer, good to hear you're feeling better!!! I will definitely be getting the booster covid jab when offered it. I'm 30 so was prepared it might be a while until our group is eligible to book, but with this new variant, it sounds like that may be happening quite soon! I've not read anything other than "when offered go get it, especially if you're pregnant" so that's what I will do.

@Misty84 and @FieldView I'm joining the dramatic parents club! LOL. We haven't told anyone yet, so far it's just me and DH who are in on the secret! I was initially thinking of waiting till week 12 to share, but now I think we might share with the parents earlier (maybe after the early scan, so about 8 weeks). I just worry that if anything was to go wrong, we'll have to worry about the parents' reactions and feelings and emotions also, and I'm not sure who will be supporting who in that moment if you know what I mean. That's why we're stalling for now. Also, they live abroad and we won't be together for Christmas, so we don't have that added pressure of "why is she not drinking something is off". The announcement will have to be over FaceTime!

I think I'd love for us to tell our parents, and then a couple of close friends with babies/kids, I feel like they would also understand better my mindset and worries that come with this time. I'll probably wait to tell my childless friends until after 12 weeks, possibly 20. LOL. I know this sounds so mean to say, but I am/was that childless friend so I know - you get excited for the friend who's expecting but you're useless and clueless in understanding any of their worries, concerns, symptoms, you can't offer advice, etc.

Irishfarmer · 29/11/2021 10:33

@FieldView yes, I'll only be 6 weeks. I already had one at 4 weeks. Because of previous MC's the EPU said to come in once I have a BFP, so I did. Didn't see anything at 4 wk scan but was warned that in advance it was v unlikely to see anything. She could tell I ovulated from the right though! I think they more so wanted to do more bloods etc. Hopefully see something at the 6 wk scan but probably still too early for a heartbeat so I'm trying to keep that in mind. If I wasn't going through EPU I think I would def be paying for a private scan at 8weeks.

Ya I'm def going to take my boaster,

Coco9910 · 29/11/2021 10:53

I read that you were eligible for the booster if you are pregnant, but it has to be 6 months after your last one, so I was thinking I could get mine in February but I think we will be offered them sooner!

We’re the same, haven’t told parents yet, going to wait until nearer Christmas and after we’ve had an early scan and then hopefully surprise them with the news just before Christmas.

I was getting some big waves of nausea yesterday but still I don’t have many symptoms. I have been sobbing at a lovely post on the Christmas thread on here this morning though which I think confirms the pregnancy hormones 😂

FieldView · 29/11/2021 11:33

Morning @Danani - that's exactly it!! My mum will be SO invested in the pregnancy when she hears about it. I mean, I love her, but she'll be a nightmare if I need to give her any bad news!

FieldView · 29/11/2021 11:36

@Irishfarmer hope all is going well! It's quite cool to know which side you've ovulated from! Hopefully there'll be another sign at 6 weeks 😊

HA22 · 29/11/2021 13:45

Morning all, just came back from my GP's. all he did was ask when my LMP was and calculated how far along I am (4+4) and when I might be due (05/08/22). He also did my blood pressure and asked me which hospital I wanted to be referred to. I work at a local hospital and thought that would be easier as I can nip to appointments without worrying about commute and also in case anything happens while I'm at work, I'm close by and the notes are already on the system. Just waiting to hear from the midwife now I'm assuming? He said it'll be in a couple weeks.
Anyone else suffer from low blood pressure?

Firsttimetrier · 29/11/2021 15:10

Hey @HA22 once you self refer, I think you should get an appointment for your 8 week check up and then 12 week scan and the midwife should get in touch with you 😊

Firsttimetrier · 29/11/2021 15:11

Has anyone developed an increased level of thirst?

I’ve always been really bad at drinking water and would never really feel thirsty, but now I’m craving water and can’t seem to get enough. 🥴

Irishfarmer · 29/11/2021 16:00

@Firsttimetrier I always drink a lot of water but have noticed I am drinking more. Subsequently peeing a lot more also, I'm up 2/3 times a night!!

Just wanted to share a link to the (private) Facebook group - there's a few of us there already and would love to welcome anyone else on the same journey at the moment:

No pressure to join - but I've found having a due-date group so helpful in my last pregnancy and really recommend!

Mummy592 · 29/11/2021 19:34

Hi everyone! I’ve been lurking about but I thought I would finally join in. I’m due 31st of July! I still can’t believe it! This will be my 6th pregnancy (baby girl in heaven born sleeping at just under 20 weeks) so as you can imagine I have my hands full but I’m so unbelievably grateful! We wasn’t expecting this at all but I’m finally getting my head around it allSmile
Congratulations to you all!

Mummy592 · 29/11/2021 19:35

Forgot to say I have 4 beautiful girls happy and well!

Coco9910 · 29/11/2021 20:13

@Mummy592 welcome! So sorry to hear about your little girl who you lost..wishing you all the best of luck for this pregnancy 💕

MrsS11 · 29/11/2021 20:18

Hello! Can I join too please? I'm nearly a week passed my missed period which puts me at a due date of 2nd August :) we have a 4 and a 7 year old but this was our first month trying (after putting it off for years over various health issues) so I can't quite believe it's happened this fast!

mrsS21 · 29/11/2021 20:38

Welcome and congratulations to all the new ladies, I’ve been MIA for a few days on here. How is everyone doing?
@Firsttimetrier yep, the thirst is real! I remember from my first, and this time it’s back with vengeance! I keep a sports bottle on my bedside table now, and will stow some rich tea in too if the nausea starts badly again! My skin on my face has gone so dry it looks like it’s peeling 🙈 been slathering cream on like billy-o for the last week and half!

Well, we’re 6 weeks tomorrow :) told my in-laws yesterday 🥰 just loved their excitement. So giddy, just praying everything goes ok. Had a little blip with my little girl having a paddy and kicking my tummy last night. Panicked, but all seems ok (I think) today.

These tests everyone is posting look brilliant @Danani those lines look incredible!! Huge congratulations to all getting the 3+ weeks too!

mrsS21 · 29/11/2021 20:39

@MrsS11 huge congratulations on your 3rd :) wonderful news, and lovely age gaps!

Luckyfamilymum · 29/11/2021 23:19

Welcome to all the new Mummies to be! Loving seeing all the different due dates pouring in Smile

@Mummy592 I’m sorry to hear about your little girl, lots of virtual hugs & also congrats on this pregnancy!!

@HA22 yes!! Low pressure sufferer here! But I must admit, it didn’t affect my last pregnancy so hoping it’s the same here? - how have you been feeling?

Agree about the thirst, I go from extremely thirsty to extremely hydrated… to needing a wee and repeat!

FeeneeTTC · 30/11/2021 07:30

Thank you for the FB group @chloeandco!

Hi guys,
Congratulations on reading all these lovely dates and symptoms! Fingers crossed it is an easy journey from here and we get to see our little bundle of joys soon.

I am actually writing for a bit of reassurance... according to my app I am 6+3 today, I just repeated a clear blue (non-digital) just for the sake of doing as I had a spare one lying around and thought might aswell, but the pregnant line (which forms a cross) looks exactly the same as when I did it last week?

Should I be worried :/ any help /advice would be much appreciated. TIA xx
