Good morning and welcome to all of the new additions! :)
How are we all?
@Irishfarmer, good to hear you're feeling better!!! I will definitely be getting the booster covid jab when offered it. I'm 30 so was prepared it might be a while until our group is eligible to book, but with this new variant, it sounds like that may be happening quite soon! I've not read anything other than "when offered go get it, especially if you're pregnant" so that's what I will do.
@Misty84 and @FieldView I'm joining the dramatic parents club! LOL. We haven't told anyone yet, so far it's just me and DH who are in on the secret! I was initially thinking of waiting till week 12 to share, but now I think we might share with the parents earlier (maybe after the early scan, so about 8 weeks). I just worry that if anything was to go wrong, we'll have to worry about the parents' reactions and feelings and emotions also, and I'm not sure who will be supporting who in that moment if you know what I mean. That's why we're stalling for now. Also, they live abroad and we won't be together for Christmas, so we don't have that added pressure of "why is she not drinking something is off". The announcement will have to be over FaceTime!
I think I'd love for us to tell our parents, and then a couple of close friends with babies/kids, I feel like they would also understand better my mindset and worries that come with this time. I'll probably wait to tell my childless friends until after 12 weeks, possibly 20. LOL. I know this sounds so mean to say, but I am/was that childless friend so I know - you get excited for the friend who's expecting but you're useless and clueless in understanding any of their worries, concerns, symptoms, you can't offer advice, etc.
