@sociallydistained 😂 I hope the curry does its thing!
I hope your sweep went well @winterbabyrose, fingers crossed it gets things moving!
@Zonedoutallnight I hope you aren't kept waiting too much longer either 🤞🏻
Let's hope we have some more good news in the next couple of days for those of you still waiting 🙂

Zonedoutallnight · 01/02/2022 19:31

Well. In an insanely swift change of fortunes I'm now sat holding my baby girl who arrived just before 6 o'clock. I'm sore and knackered but delighted.

Whaaaaat? Wow! Amazing. What happened, if you have the energy to write.
sociallydistained · 01/02/2022 20:19

@Zonedoutallnight

Well I've been awake since 3am, went to the hospital for 9 as I was having regular cramps but then as soon as I arrived they all stopped just to make me into a liar. They did another sweep, monitored baby for a bit and then sent me home because literally nothing was happening. I'm now in bed (since I've been awake for 11 hours) and having worse cramps than before. I give up. I'm going to try and have a nap and see if I wake up holding a baby. That's how it would work if I'd invented childbirth.
I feel like the way you'd invent childbirth happened to you 😂 👏🏼
Scottishgal85 · 01/02/2022 22:21

That's amazing @Zonedoutallnight, huge congratulations to you 🥰

Zonedoutallnight · 02/02/2022 06:45

Thanks all. I just had cramps starting at about 3pm. Went from zero to 100, every 3 minutes by half 3 so off to the hospital and then it's all a bit of a blur. Was properly off my head on gas&air but alas it did not feel like a nap. Feeling very tender this morning.

winterbabyrose · 02/02/2022 08:18

@Zonedoutallnight That's crazy, congratulations!!!

I had my sweep yesterday afternoon and had a few cramps here and there since then and into the early hours this morning but then nothing since like 3ish. Been losing teeny tiny bits of brown mucus since then too, but again nothing major. Praying she decides to make an appearance today!

BobbleWobble1 · 02/02/2022 08:33

@Zonedoutallnight @Luckymamma congratulations! Hope you are both doing well.

@sjxoxo you poor thing. Thrush is supposed to be horrible so I'm glad you got it treated. It was one of the few breastfeeding problems I managed to avoid last time.

Hopefully not much longer for those still waiting.

Alle1991 · 02/02/2022 08:43

@Zonedoutallnight wow congratulations, hope your both doing ok

@winterbabyrose I feel your pain, I had a sweep yesterday and was having cramps and signs things were moving in the right direction. This morning NOTHING! I’m losing hope she’s going to come naturally now

MamaDaria · 02/02/2022 08:45

Well done @Zonedoutallnight 🙂

@winterbabyrose I also tried the have the sweep yesterday, but midwife couldnt get enough reach to the cervix, so no cramps for me. Did you set a date for the induction or waiting a bit longer to decide?
We booked induction for the 6th, which will be 9 days after due date. Would be nice if she decided to come out by helself

winterbabyrose · 02/02/2022 08:50

I've just literally had a bloody show while in the shower this morning, and having a few very mild cramps as we speak, so hoping this is the start of things!!

The midwife said I'll be induced next Friday if she's not here before then and I'll get a call this Friday to confirm the time. But hopefully it won't come to that and she comes before then!!

sociallydistained · 02/02/2022 11:06

That is amazing! My cramps up stepped up last night I didn't sleep until 6 this morning I felt yes this is it. Here I am 🤦🏻‍♀️ Your story gives hope though. Take care of yourself and congratulations on your new bundle xx
MamaDaria · 02/02/2022 11:39

@winterbabyrose That sounds positive 🙂. I just saw some mucus came out as well, it wasnt bloody though. Hopefully things are starting to progress

Zonedoutallnight · 03/02/2022 16:22

How's it going @sociallydistained @winterbabyrose @MamaDaria @Alle1991 ?

Hope things are progressing for you all and that you get to meet your little ones soon.

Is there a board for us to join for the end of Jan/early feb babies?

sociallydistained · 03/02/2022 16:45

Could be mid Feb before this bub make an appearance 😂

Im feeling no signs today, feeling quite happy and went and did a Lidl shop... I thought last weeks big shop would definitely be my last but nope... I've been eating everything in the house out of boredom too 🙈

Alle1991 · 03/02/2022 17:15

41+1 today, induction booked for Monday which at this rate I’ll be having. Had a sweep on Tuesday which thought had done the trick but nothing seems to be progressing.

Been a bit fed up/upset/frustrated as I had this wonderful plan in the head on how it would all plan out but baby’s don’t stick to a plan haha got out for a nice long walk today which has lifted my sprits.

Debating my sweep tomorrow as it just seem to give me bad cramps and not much else

She’s going to be worth the wait

MamaDaria · 03/02/2022 19:57

I had some cramping, but nothing significant started for me. Hope something starts before induction on Sunday. Enjoying our last days alone Smile

winterbabyrose · 04/02/2022 08:40

Still waiting here too! I'm 40+5 today. Had a sweep on Tuesday afternoon when I was 40+2 and since Wednesday morning I've been losing my bloody show here and there. Had some more intense cramping last night while I was making dinner and I thought ooo is this it?!, but then it seemed to subsided into the evening and not had anything since.

Getting very frustrated now! I'm also feeling more anxious as each overdue day that goes by.

I'm supposedly going to be getting a call from the hospital today to book in my induction for next Friday when I'll be 41+5 if she doesn't come before then.. although I am tempted to try and push to be induced earlier than that if I can..!

Hope you ladies are all doing well, any more updates? X

sociallydistained · 04/02/2022 11:18

I'm 41+1 today 😳 I go through waves of I don't think my body is going to do this on it's own to of course it will and baby will come when ready even if it's at 42. I have read so many positive stories but it's so hard! Early hours waves of cramp and pain, I guess could be contractions again. Now nothing again. I've had a few days of this now. Baby still wriggling and kicking away It just is mentally tough!
Midwife tomorrow.

Alle1991 · 04/02/2022 22:17

I had a second successful sweep today 1-2 cm but she doesn’t think I’ll go into labour before my induction on Monday. Been looking up positive induction stories today which has been really helpful.

Random question-anyone that had a 9 plus pound baby, did they fit into newborn or should I take 0-3 months clothes?

BobbleWobble1 · 05/02/2022 10:09

@Alle1991 I find sizes vary hugely depending on the shop. Asda is much bigger than Tesco in my experience. For my 7lb1oz, Tesco newborn was a perfect fit and Asda first size was huge. He's now around 8lb6oz has outgrown Tesco but Asda fits nicely. Hopefully that gives you an idea. A lot of places do 0-1 month which might be better for a bigger baby. 0-3 months is actually quite big.

Sorry to those of you still waiting but try not to lose hope. I had no signs at all before going into labour both times so a lot can change in a day! Also do ask your midwife about options for induction. I did book one for 41+5 rather than 42 as if the pessary had got me going I could still have used the MLU if I was under 42 weeks. It didn't have to be all or nothing.

mummyh2016 · 05/02/2022 11:15

@Alle1991 it depends where it's from, DS was weighed last Monday and was 7lb 11oz and has grown out of first size from next and Asda the last couple of days, he's in 0-1 month from most shops plus newborn from Matalan. I'd pack maybe 3 0-1 month plus if you have first size/newborn already then a couple just in case he/she is smaller.

cheesychips15 · 05/02/2022 15:32

Sorry to jump in, I've followed this thread throughout my pregnancy but never posted! Just thought I'd add another perspective to @Alle1991's question about sizes.

My son was 8lb 14oz at birth and newborn (from John Lewis) wouldn't go anywhere near him. 0-1 month (from Next) was ok but even that was on the tighter side, he was straight into 0-3 months. He'll be 4 weeks on Monday and he's already starting to wear some 3-6 stuff now.

I've found M&S stuff to be the most generously sized so newborn or 0-1 from there might be ok at 9lb but I wouldn't expect to get much wear from them.

But I'd still take some of the smaller sizes just in case the estimates are wrong!

Alle1991 · 05/02/2022 16:41

Thanks everyone.

I’ve repacked myself hospital bag and added a few new born, up to a month and then a few 0-3 month baby grows.

Am I the last one standing waiting for baby to arrive?

MamaDaria · 05/02/2022 17:05

@Alle1991 Nope, you are not the only one waiting. Nothing happened for me yet, except some cramping since yesterday. Tomorrow should have an induction, when I will be 9 days overdue.
I'm excited and scared, such a big change coming!
